General Discussion / Re: Guiseley
« on: March 15, 2020, 12:17:06 AM »
I've lost count in my years of watching football, where fans have bemoaned the referee for a bad result.

BUT......today was the worst refereeing performance I personally  have seen, either on TV or in the flesh.

He was clueless - his decisions caused bafflement amongst us Lynn fans and even the couple of Guiseley fans I spoke to (although it's easier to be "sympathetic" when you win!!)

However, Guiseley, like Bradford, done a job on us, they contained us, they were cute, they wasted time where they could, etc. etc.

As for Lynn, I bet Maz is sitting at home wondering how he hasn't got the match ball - not having a pop at the guy as he has been immense, but he seemed to snatch at a couple of his chances where as a few weeks ago he would easily have netted,

Our formation - started as a 3-5-2 (I think) but looked better as a 4-4-2 and with Gash and Power on the pitch.

MotM - Rory McCauley and I wouldn't argue with that, the guy is a warrior, a leader and even in the warm up when they were playing keep ball, was as ferocious as he is during a match, such is his desire to win.
His counterparts - Smith & Ward do not inspire me with the same confidence although personally I blame Pedro more than Ward for their goal.

Will the season finish?? Who know's, but if there is still football to be played we need to get back to winning ways sooner rather than later or the season will definitely be finished.

Radio Norfolk - nothing but respect for our chairman in his interview.

I hope Lynn win but I won't be at the match or any Lynn match in the future. During the last game, at home to Dover a comment was made to one of their substitutes from the crowd. The player looked at the crowd and someone shouted: " Hey, we've had Brexit now!" Many laughed; the player in question looked extremely uncomfortable. Needless to say, the Dover player was black. During the game another black Dover player was taunted continually throughout the game. No specific reference was made of an overtly racist nature but there was probably implicit racism in the taunts.
So, I've mulled this over for days and have decided - this is very difficult as I love supporting Lynn - not to attend any more games. I don't want to be in an environment where such attitudes are common.
So, I wish the team well and anyone who I've peed off on here, many apologies and happy Christmas!
 :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

It will be your loss Stan, not to "support" King's Lynn at matches.

I agree there is no place for racism in life (never mind football) but to say a Brexit comment has underlying tones of racism, is unproven.

I know I taunted one of their players (Pressley - who was black) during the break between full time and extra time, saying that Dover were shot, they couldn't win without cheating, their legs had gone........and he replied "shut the **** up baldy".

I responded that his insults were even worse than his football ability!!

"Banter" especially at this level happens and as long as nobody oversteps the mark, it's all good.

So, forget about it, come and support the linnets in what will be a 3-1 win (cos we're that good) with a crowd of 2214 - 2213 if you don't come!!

You would think by now The Dover Manager would be use to being interviewed and filmed
Is he on something or needing a wee? Didn't stop moving the whole interview and hardly looked at the camera.

Just watched this interview and my logic to him always moving around is because he isn't exactly telling the truth!!

Saying the pitch cut up - he'll do well to find many pitches better than ours.
Saying the fans calling his players cheats - I agree the ref was weak, but falling over as easily as they did, they were cheating

They underestimated Lynn and got exactly what they deserved

Both Pedro and Ross Barrows both played unwell  and I thought Ross played really well And not in his favoured position

That makes sense for Pedro as I thought he was poor today - glad it was because he was ill and not one of "those" performances that he has from time to time.

Also, today isn't a day to be negative, but Hawkins just doesn't seem quite up to it these days??

But........what a performance, what a team - Dover were no mugs

I like Hawkins as a player but he is a little inconsistent for my liking.

My hunch is that it's his application thats caused this loan move.

I think IC want's players who will always give 100% and nothing else........I don't think Ryan always applies himself that well

A bit odd some of them, weren't they??

More intent on hitting fences and getting extremely irate rather than watch their team

Does anyone know if the home shorts are on sale anywhere??

I'm a bit of a "portly chap" and football shirts don't look good on me, but I'd like to wear the shorts when I'm on holiday and show people I'm a linnets fan!!

If that's the case, should be possible to swap the 2 fixtures around so we play them at home on a Sat in September and away on a Sat later in year.

You'll never get a job at The FA Kes - that's way too sensible an idea!!!!

I went to Stamford the other year, so I'll not bother with that.

I'll be going to Braintree though

General Discussion / Re: Admission prices 2019-20

Is this all a little  hasty? Carried away by the promotion success etc , why is the club making these announcements so soon? Surely they would have needed more time to review the likely squad structure, and what that will cost prior to this. It is almost certain they have only just got back to the ground after the wonderful occasion in Warrington and much number crunching remains incomplete. Positive , it may be, but the message is wrong, and a concern.

I actually think the opposite -

I think it's good that the club have announced the prices so soon after the end of the season as it stops speculation and gives people ample time to buy a S/T or set their budgets accordingly.

I also don't think announcing them is "hasty" as I guess that over the last few weeks, when the prospect of promotion became a realistic achievement, that discussions/decisions were being had/made and the decision of 15 is quite reasonable.........and certainly A LOT more reasonable than the 18 price which was being mentioned by a few

Rumour's so far suggest at least 3 departures including one high profile player.

High profile - Clunan??

The only other high profile player we may lose could be FBT, if he moves to a higher level.

General Discussion / Re: The Super Play off final.
« on: May 08, 2019, 03:07:06 PM »

To be fair to SC, he has announced all he can - there is a priority order for tickets and once those in the eligible categories have had the chance to claim their tickets the remainder (if any) will go on sale Thursday or Friday but, as he says, he needs to have the tickets in his possession first.  Warrington seem to have been caught completely by surprise at getting through to the Super Playoff and the prospect of having a 'big crowd' so I guess we all just have to wait and see what the rest of the week brings.  The 375 allocation has made it less than likely that I will be going but still hopeful that there will be a small number available to 'the public' and I am at least fortunate to work in Lynn so can get to the Walks if necessary.

I've posted elsewhere on social media that I've been to almost all the home matches and about ten away games this eason.
I'd planned to travel up on the Friday night - so can't get to the ticket office then.
I live and work near Banham Zoo these days - so can't get to the ticket office Thursday.

I've a feeling I'm going to miss out.

If, as reported, Warrington won't sell out the home allocation, could they not allow a few tickets to be available on the day for Lynn fans - I'm guessing the game will be segregated
