General Discussion / Re: INCOMING.
« on: March 28, 2020, 08:57:50 AM »
Agree mallard on the potential of the lad, by all accounts a hell of a player..but.....As always no transparency, and my thoughts go out to genuine supporters dipping into pockets for another contract for which short term we would hopefully not needed. Perhaps a rapid response from the chairman would not go amiss 🤔

In times of monetary chaos and pleading for any penny into the coffers possible & with no direction towards our future in the national pyramid..WE sign a player🤔 I suggest the pitch cover and ground infrastructure is complete?

Out fought. Out run........got what they deserved...fully justified home defeat, having said that the Bradford players and staff were too blame 100% for the melee at the end😈  1200 crowd 👏👏  on to saturday #vitalgame

This match is attracting a huge response locally, really expect in the region of 2,500 at the very least...slightly worried with mc cauley and barrows injuries, not too enthused with Smith & ward in charge at this current time...

Superb effort from this linnets side, still chuckling over the Dover managers assessment of the result😂😂 we could have been out of sight in the first half with the chances created....there is so much energy and desire at the moment coupled with great one-touch football..thought Marriott/ mc Cauley were on a different level with there committment👏🏻👏🏻 Henderson was a big loss today with his pace in the last third.. sadly the crowd was disappointing but felt 700 was a miscalculation? All in all a credit to themselves 10/10

Thought we got away with it yesterday, Apart from Rory I felt we looked very edgy and gave too many chances away in defence...was this the reason for Tom ward not reappearing in the second half 🤔 on the midfield front clunan / jarvis was off the pace today, but on the positive side Richards is fast becoming a must in the middle with his probing and energy around the park 👏🏻👏🏻  Gashy was tailor made for Gateshead centre half’s but although being doubled-up on that man Marriott once again proved the winner with the goal and work rate....well done to the management for their double substitution, as for me was the turning point, for me that side what finished IS the strongest available and more than capable of pushing, if not defeating Dover in a fortnight 👊 great crowd considering the weather⚽️ COYL :scarf:

Strikers are judged on there goal-scoring not build-up play or assists albeit an asset if possible🤔

Without question and with hindsight jack defty in his prime was the best all round frontman for many a year..His hold up play was second to none, coupled with a phenomenal goal-scoring record. Gash is a very, very good front man at this time but if we are to compare, IMO defty wins hands down with the goal ratio.. as for Marriott you cannot compare jack alongside adam as stature and style dictates they are poles apart.. But imagine the two together, now that would be a match made in heaven🙏 Nevertheless I am thoroughly enjoying gash/ Marriott combo for this team and long may it continue 👏🏻👏🏻 UTL 💙

General Discussion / Post match

What a ⚽️ game yesterday, it had everything, pace, intensity, incredible atmosphere & both sides playing a slick passing game.. if only we had took one or two very good chances in the first half. It was a master stroke playing a youthful energetic midfield, as it played out, that was the best I have seen in midfield from an opposing side this season. There no 7 was outstanding and to be honest we never got to grips with him all afternoon. But....with mc’cauley leading from the back and the tireless work throughout the side we were certainly in this match on merit 👊 clunan, burrows, & Marriott for me were the pick on a day which will be remembered for a long while, not to be forgotten the crowd, who turned up in there hundreds and were vociferous in there support throughout the afternoon👏🏻👏🏻 This is again......without big injuries, going to be a hell of a rollercoaster!!!!!!👍

After a very nervy start the lads produced a scintillating performance yesterday and well worth the three points  Although it is only six games in, I am confident this group of lads can stay within the top 10 without question barring injuries to the front two....gash & Marriott would be irreplaceable at the moment which is my only concern..slightly surprised by the low attendance on a glorious day, but the only losers was the non attendees...let the good times roll :scarf:

A massive   to one and all in recent home games, I haven't heard such a crowd in fine voice for a long time...there seems to be an excitement and never say die attitude on the pitch which in my opinion is tracking back to the terraces....with no significant pressure on with expectations towards winning the league it seems that everyone has a smile back on there face. long may it continue :scarf:
