Stan, There were too many fundemental mistakes made at the back IMO...I will however say it did improve as the game went on but this is just not my opinion. Many around me were saying the same so we cant all be wrong!

This game reminded me of the Harlow game a couple of seasons ago in that Buxton came along with a plan to stop Lynn from playing by fair means or foul.
Buxton made life difficult for Lynn in the first half with a well drilled pressing game which gave Lynn insufficient time on the ball to get their passing game going. Buxton had pace in attack and looked more than capable of scoring which they did first to go in one up at half time. As the second half wore on Buxton tired and Lynn with a great run and back heel from Hawkins set up Marriott who from the edge if the penalty area drilled in a low shot to the bottom corner to make it 1-1 with over 30 mins still to play. Buxton tired and Lynn pressed for an equaliser. But Buxton hung on to take the game to extra time and nicked it with a late winner as penalties were looming.
Overall I thought Lynn were the better side and created enough chances to win the game but, as has been typical of their home performances this season, they can't seem to convert them. Buxton's pressing and competitive attitude was impressive in many ways but they were also fouling constantly and with a stronger ref might have ended the game with 9 men. It's a shame that a footballing side like Lynn can be stopped in this way. Refs have a duty to ensure that football can be played and not allow a cynical bunch like Buxton to get away with the amount of fouling that they did.
Lynn's defence were excellent - what a great partnership McCauley and Fryatt have formed - and I thought most players had good games.
50 % of Hawkins play is brilliant while the other 50% is awful. I know that he made the goal and created chances but on too many occasions I saw him attempting to dribble from positions that were too deep and lose the ball. He needs to get his head up more and keep the ball moving. He's like the Adel Taraabt of the side: exciting and frustrating in equal measure. Clunan had a disappointing game and does appear to have lost some form in recent matches.
Agree with most of your post but!.....You mention Lynn's defense were excellent???...Myself and all around me must have been watching a diffent game then because we thought it was at most times appalling!... AS you do say though and I agree Clunan had a disppointing game he and Javis gave the ball away so many times we lost count!....Outstanding last night was Frazer Blake..When he went on his runs he cut through Buxtons defense like butter...shame that on a few occasions his deliveries were not converted..ahh well we move on and hopefully we improve...

Is funny the difference 3 points can make isnt it!?
Has there been any indication from boss as to why Limbs not getting any playing time, is he carrying a knock or something? Sure he was unveilled as our big signing pre-season yet they don't seem to want to play him or even bring him on as sub. Coming from Burnley he must be getting paid a decent wage down here still yet not playing.
Roll on bank holiday weekend indeed!

So Limb finally comes on but replaces Parker who was the previous substitute!

Did Parker pick up a knock early and was replaced?....I am also surprised as to why Limb is not being used? Is he carrying an injury?.....Starting with the same 11 as from Saturday is surprising also IMO.

After another fantastic win (1-7 away to Gosport) I was expecting to see a great report all over the back page of today's Lynn News...BUT NO!...all we have is a small narrow report on the inside back page (Swaffam even had a bigger report on their game)..  Shame on you Lynn News!

I hope our second half showing against BS, and the rubbish against Mildenhall, was a case of being over confident because in the next 8 weeks we have some tough games. Cup ties permitting its Royston at home who deserved their 3 points at their place also amongst others it Hereford at home. Redditch home, Slough home, Kettering away on New years day. there are other teams also home and away who will be no push overs. If we are still in the mix mid January it will be looking good. just one other point, did anybody else notice how bobbly the pitch was on Saturday? Had it been rolled, and is it a good idea to let the kids have a kick about on it?
A few of us commented on the "bobbly" pitch...It certainly did NOT look like it had been rolled...

I drove past the ground at lunchtime and there was some sort of agricultural machinery being unloaded through the gate.
Agricultural machinery could be anything fom a rake to a major earth moving machine? Is the pitch being raked over with sand,or dug up and relayed as promised?
Grissles has a good point IMO....I am no expert of sand/grass re-seeding but it was clear to see that we have a very bumpy un-even playing surface so I am not clear how just putting sand and re-seeding will make it any different!. Digging up the pitch and relaying does make sense if you want a FLAT playing surface.

Hick, that sounds more like revolution when I think we will be more looking at evolution.
Culverhouse has been very calm and calculated since his arrival. Sure he will bring in fresh bodies and im sure a few will depart. I see it more with the guys coaching skills he will get the very best out of what he decides to keep.
Mall, Not a revolution just my opinion to who I think should stay. I just don't think the rest (apart from Leon Mettam if he returns?)are good enough imo.

Havent factored in Mettam either, would the fans like to see him back with us next season ? maybe we would see what he is all about under a different Manager ?

Thanks for info guys!...Maybe he may still feature in Ian Culverhouse plans for next season. IMO Leon is a player that will score goals if we get that BIG quality forward for him to play alongside or just behind. We did not have that when he was here. In the days of Russ Dunkley type he would have scored a hat full I think.

Always is mate but I always knew we had a squad capable of top 5 and I'm so pleased to see you there coming through the ranks . We have many quality players in the area who are capable of joining the ranks just as long as Culverhouse is scouting properly. KEEP THE FAITH #YNWA #KLTFC 
Good to hear!! I have never understood why certain of our 'supporters' have always written off local talent as not being good enough, when more often than not with the odd exception (Jack Defty) they have never been given the opportunity and encouragement to prove what they can do.
I would not necessarily say that some supporters have written off local talent but I would suggest most clubs find the same in just 1 or 2 maybe make the grade and thats good IMO... Wouldn't it be interesting to see current league tables today if all clubs just used "local talent"!!....Would Chelsea be top?....Would the big clubs be in league positions they are today?....Just a thought.... It is good to see a local lad make it into the 1st team,but if we are to progress further up the football pyramid then it's more than likely we have to look elsewhere to get us there Thats's football today!

I went today and that "performance" was a complete shambles - think Weymouth at Home, then double it and times it by ten........and it still wasn't anywhere near as bad as today's "effort"
But for me, the blame doesn't lie with the new manager (or even the old one) it was the players who from one to eleven let the club down, the fans down, themselves down.
Hitchin are a decent side and I've always said that I can accept defeat, as losing is part of football - from the very top to the bottom.
However, what I cannot and will not accept is lack of effort and conviction - and those players today were embarrassing......only those of us who were unfortunate enough to be there will be able to emphasise just how bad they were.
In the Second Half, Steve Cleeve came and spoke with some of us fans - now I'm always sceptical of our chairman (until proven otherwise) but he didn't have to do that, I think he genuinely shared our pain today.
The one positive from today is that Ian Culverhouse will now see what he has inherited, it's a sharp wake up call for him - I did notice that pre match he spoke on the pitch to each player individually which seemed that little bit more professional.......but obviously didn't have any benefit in the long run!!
The warm up was slightly different too.
Next week vs Stratford will be interesting to say the least!!
Walks - I was also at the match. You say that Hitchin are a "decent side;" Hitchin are an excellent side! They have only lost two matches in the league since the end of August and are the best SPL team that have played at The Walks this season.
You state that the players lacked conviction and effort.
Setchell has been manager for - what is it 7 years - and the players clearly had a strong bond with Setchell - you can tell this by the way that his sides have played for him over the years. This strong manager/player connection cannot be underestimated. Lynn, a goal down within 2 minutes, away from home, to the best team in the league, with no: Quigley, Stevenson or Hawkins and with all the emotional turmoil of this week, looked shell-shocked and were torn apart by a step 2 challenging Hitchin.
The second half, despite conceding early on was much better. Lynn compressed the pitch and put much more pressure on the ball. In the first half, they gave Hitchin far too much time and space. Hitchin clearly had the game won and were probably not fully "at it" in the second half but Lynn clearly improved and Culverhouse was clearly giving them instructions on the pitch that were having a positive impact.
The team that played yesterday are probably 3/4 players short of being a team that can compete with the best in the SPL. Yes, they were poor for much of the game yesterday but these are human beings not machines and I defy anyone to be able to come out of a week like the one they've had at Lynn without being emotionally scathed.
They'll get over it and Culverhouse (with the addition of 3/4 new players) will improve them.

Well its interesting to hear all these opinions and how they differ!!!........A friend of my who lives near Hitchin went to see the match and told me that KL were like "Rabbits in Headlights"!!.....They had a look of NO motivation and NO fight!....That is sad to hear!
