BW are a mid table side in this league.

I am currently struggling to see how a part time outfit can  compete at this level.

Not sure who is still part time, but already relegation next season looks like it could be any 2 from Weymouth, Wealdstone and Lynn.

Yes, I feel at least a couple of new sponsorships required from the bigger local industries or even a couple of national tie ups......we are way beyond  little deals with small local businesses being sufficient to sustain a club at this level.

Don't write him out of next season just yet guys.... let's see how things unfold......I know Tony didn't agree, but I personally felt,Richards, King, Carey and a Dilly nipster, when all on song, was a pretty strong NL midfield.

So add in this term 's loan of ?400k ?,(assuming this is to cover next season as well and allowing for say half to be in bank for next year , so worse case scenario could be looking at net liabs to start next season with, of around half a million. Let's hope the Covid climate enables a profitable and successful next season...Lynn and a number of others will need it to be......they need the fans to support them in  the largest possible numbers.......if the remainder of the loan gets used up to keep the club afloat next year, there could be very serious.problems .

Its ok to talk about building the team for next season, but isn't having a pitch that will allow Culverhouse to play the football he wants to play, just as important?

I would guess having a decent pitch (or not) could well be a consideration when signing certain types of players.

Having a pitch that is as good as IC would like for the whole season just isn't achievable B & G. We have seen the pitch looking superb in August, but an uneven mud heap by Christmas. Maybe IC will have to plan for having a decent pitch for the first 3 months and last month of the season, when he plays the  style of football at home that he would like. Most away fixtures should not be a problem, so that just leaves 3/4 months of home fixtures ie 10 or so matches out of 40 where he will need a contingency plan and some squad players to cope with it.
This all goes hand in hand with where the club presently sits..ie not full time, not established at NL level, without the necessary income streams, training facilities,NL standard stadiumetc etc. At least most other sides will have terrific pitches.....having 75% of the league matches on a good surface is a significant improvement on the NLN.

I have come to the conclusion over many years, that it's just unrealistic to expect any pitch in that stadium to be in any sort of condition after about mid November.... doesn't matter what you do to it in terms of prep. ........and what the coach might like......and what is actually possible are two different things.

Last couple of performances and results a real concern for me....very quickly 3 or 4 down, yet playing with most of the same defence as previous games when we looked solid.........only  real  diff is that King hasn't been fit...but the defence has to be able to stand up on it's own, without being relieved by attacking midfielders, otherwise we are back to the situation of early season thrashings and in big trouble for next season

That pitch will never be great for more than a few months at the start of a season

The long term aim should be to move away and have combined training facilities on the same site.... however that then makes all the recent investment in the ground a huge waste, so I can't see SC favouring that...plus we now have a huge loan tied into aspects of it. I have never been a fan of 4g....bit of a conundrum.....this pitch problem has been an issue for years..........I remember a move away from The Walks being discussed by some following the club going belly up.....but at the time the Council made what I considered to be some very comfortable and not forward thinking decisions and as a consequence nothing of any note changed........no surprise there then .

Everything has been tried with the pitch. The only solution for a perfect pitch would be a new ground, less prone to flooding and with a grandstand roof that didn't overflow onto the touchline......given that the council couldn't even provide dedicated training facilities, I don't hold out much hope.

Highlights also I feel, the difficulty in being consistent at this level when you are part time and most others are full time.

Poor result today against an average side.

I was reading an article in the EDP a few days ago where IC said he felt he lost his way a bit with tactics, earlier in the season, before getting his mojo back and returning to his core beliefs and style of play. Given that, Lynn are likely to be more open at the back than some... it's just trying to limit that as far as possible, while still being a passing and attacking side. My own personal belief is that they need to find another commanding experienced centre half to partner Kyle and a dedicated, tall defensive midfielder, who can also pick a pass, to help clear the crosses and mark tightly in the box, perhaps alongside Richards which then allows the attacking options of Carey, King, Kiwomya/Gyasi in midfield to do their thing. Some of the play yesterday going forward was sublime ...... and a lovely finish from Gash from a great cross by Denton.
