At a guess because all these leagues are already suspended and not live, so players will be already furloughed where necessary

Funds not to be used for Transfers or Players wages.

The BBC article suggests the Government weren't happy with the way the original grant tranche was allocated.......I wonder if that is also part of the reason why no further grants will be on offer.

I think the NL should just end the season for the 3 leagues now, take a few months to get its house in order and start next season promptly in August.

Good wins tonight for Weymouth and Dover., Weymouth's 2 goals coming from a forward signed from Cambridge United .

I am more than a little concerned for Lynn at the moment....there is tangible improvement , but it's not huge. Weymouth have strengthened greatly and will fancy their chances of staying up. Lynn seem to be very much 2 steps forward one step back at the moment.....they need to get some momentum and get a few wins, but looks tough over next 4/5 games.....the worst possible scenario would be Lynn low on confidence and on a poor run, when they play Weymouth and the other lowly placed sides in February

Presumably not so easy to find people willing to go and pull the covers on, this time around !!
Probably not the time to ask for a grant for a new ground !!!!

"We go again Saturday.(maybe).We are Lynn" :laughcry:

I thought I was.(Spartacus...not Auntie D)......damn ! :laughcry:

Yes Dilly...Gvasi for Kiwomya and Carey for King would have maintained the status quo.

Bound to be in trouble given home to Wealdstone and Yeovil and away to Weymouth and Dagenham has only yielded just one point.....and they have put themselves under unnecessary pressure.......if the next 5/6 games go ahead, given the toughness of the fixtures, Lynn will have to really up their game, to not be rooted in the bottom 3, by mid February.

Sorry Tony, I am not wanting to disagree, but am sadly unable to agree with much that you say there.

With the IC connection, Norwich is an obvious route for loans, so I understand this is a difficult issue.

I personally feel if we fostered links with Lincoln, Cambridge, Peterborough, Colchester etc we would be able to have loanees who are a little older, more experienced, more suited to our level and more likely to stay. Taking on a loanee from a Premiership/Championship club will most likely result in the club taking on a young inexperienced lad, who immediately has aspirations of playing well above NL level and therefore may depart mid stream........I also don't accept that they are not expected to be picked, no matter what IC says. yourself have questioned how Power fitted into the team system and left it unbalanced.......most of us could see that...yet he was still a regular pick......and personally, although Mair is a great shot stopper, overall I don't feel he has added to the club's defensive abilities, in comparison to what pre existed, even though he has tremendous potential and is performing really well for someone so young

:laughcry: Think you'll find we had one........better not go over all that again.

I do hope that by next season Lynn are in a position where Lynn can say "thanks, but no thanks to Norwich loanees. Inevitably they need to be played, inevitably this can cause squad disruption and inevitably they will use Lynn as a stepping stone before shooting off as soon as an improved opportunity presents itself, when the time feels right for the player. (All my opinion only of course).

I hope Mair stays for the rest of the season...think he has performed ok, but obviously lacks experience........and wherever he decides to go I wish him well. ......same applies to Power.
This league is so tough can't afford many in the squad who are just using it as a learning experience without putting firm foundations down for the club. (IMHO)

You're behind the times Mall.... we're onto" slippery nipster tricksters" now ! :laughcry:

Gannon sacked over culture issues at the club apparently.

Think Stockport will have too much for a Lynn set up, that still doesn't know it's best formation or how to see out a game, 16 games in. Assuming Kiwomya is out with a tight hamstring, I will go for 1-3.

On this occasion Dilly, I have to fully agree with you.

I also don't quite get why Lynn's best players can only manage 60 mins in many matches this season
The top 11 players in the squad can now compete reasonably well in this league, which is a significant achievement..... the second string are not quite there......we need the likes of King, a fast winger (Kiwomya or Gvasi), Marriott etc on that field for 80 minutes.
Are they not fit  ? (Marriott did get a knock last game and King coming back into the team).

Lynn were riding their luck at the back before the subs, but after the subs they were able to come at Lynn even more it seemed to me.

What a topsy turvy season so far.

Really disappointing to have thrown away 6 points  at Weymouth and at Dagenham........if we were played 16, points 24, it would put quite a different complexion on things. If the season does continue Lynn will need to start taking 3 points from such teams to survive. Teams below Lynn are gearing up and recruiting heavily....Weymouth have added an extra training day and signed two centre halves and two forwards in the last week......Barnet also recruiting heavily...both sides are likely to improve significantly from hereon in...Lynn will need to also if they are to stay in the league.

Went too defensive.....Gyasi and Southwell should have been used IMHO.....we needed to get the third ...also surprised Jarv was left on...we needed some young fresh legs. Also as is bound to happen from time to time and is happening, with a young lad in goal, an apparent misjudgement for the vital equaliser.

In the end Daggers deserved it for all their attacking.

Lynn are obviously improving and growing into the league, which is encouraging but as they are a part time outfit and will come under pressure in the last quarter of games, they could probably do with a bit more to cope with the pressure asit comes on. C- McF has made a big diff........has he a twin brother ?
