General Discussion / Re: away to Hartlepool (8th Dec)

It's certainly a tough task ahead for the boys. I think that looks as good as we've got under the current circumstances Tony, fingers crossed one of Mcauley or McFadden can play. Definitely believe the 5 at the back gives us the best chance with a makeshift backline. Fingers crossed for today and hopefully we might see Gashy.

I don’t think it was just the water logging.  I suspect they didn’t want our team of Centre-halves, full backs, defensive  “holding” midfielders, and goalkeeper to mess their penalty areas up for the rest of the season !
The game is called off yet you still find a way to critique the team. Its just baffling considering the team is trying to find their feet at a new level with full time pros.  :dontknow:

 I know as a fact we are in the lowest 5 for the budget in this league so will not argue that.

A bit of a reality check needed though, we are 14th in the conference with one of the lowest budgets in our first season. I think IC and the coaching staff have got it more than right.  :banghead;

I very much doubt Gashy will be in the squad for Bromley, I would believe he would need to build up some sort of match sharpness before taking anyone's place in the squad, which he didnt have to do at Portsmouth because of the 7 sub allowance, maybe through the ressies.

Who would you get rid of TonyM?

Ryan Fryatt's absence is most certainly not the reason we are conceding from set plays. You only have to look at the few games he played last year to see that and Kettering's games this year and see how many goals he is at fault for. I think we improved our record from set plays since we went to a zonal marking system but the strong full time athletes at Portsmouth obviously were always going to cause us problems in that department.

Hopefully we can be more like Chorley who were relegated from our league and are bottom of the north. I think we can forgot about this result and put it down as a great day out for the football club, as we wont face any one nearly as good as Pompey again this season.

IMO, I dont see a reason to change from the back 3 in which we have kept 2 cleen sheets in a row. It allows us to keep the ball much better and much more solid at the back. It was more of a 3 and offensive against dover who just sat back. In this league at the moment we cant play how we have going through the leagues like some people expect against full time teams.

Great result today, Back 5 put a big shift in today. Kyle McFadden looked very complete and solid at the back, also looked very good on the ball. Also thought Kairo Mitchell was excellent. 4 wins in 5 is a great run and another clean sheet.

That's some result away at Barnet. Great way to respond from Sutton, I thought Rory was excellent along with smith at the back. The five at the back first half set the foundations for a great win. UTL :scarf:

Ok - not my last post !  So many people in England, never mind KL, want their team to have 3CHs, 2 FBs, a GK, a couple of hard-tackling M-F hooligans, ....   We’d never get out of our own penalty area !  Then a couple of their small nipsters will score another 5 !  IMHO !  COYLs.  Pick a team to worry them, then everyone back if they get a touch of the ball !!  Start tonight !
Half the goals we've conceded this season are from set-plays so work out how small players will stop that? Some of the best teams and managers in the world play back 5s. But dilly knows better than them?

Dilly, do you only watch highlights of football matches or don’t you understand that to counter act these so called slippery players you need players to sit in and break them down. Like Sutton do in beautyman and Davis and like all good teams do. If we played without the likes of Jarvis, clunan and Richards we would get massively overloaded in the middle. I think you’re views are more suited to basketball or a video game

Agreed, Sutton are a well funded and experienced national league team whom im sure will be in the play offs. Time for Mr Cleeve to use that £84,000 per month grant on the budget

Dilligaf, you seem very bitter and twisted that the club have been successful looking through your posts. Are you saying Archie Mair and Power are only selected because they're from Norwich,  if so you must be very deluded or simply trying to put the club down at every opportunity.  :scarf:
