General Discussion / Re: everybody to busy watching the Euros?
« on: June 18, 2021, 08:27:30 PM »
Hi Nikki. I have broad shoulders. When i post it is the truth rather than the bull**** that supporters are fed by the club. People though have short memories. If someone was to write a book about all that will be coming and happening to Lynn as in programme notes and podcasts in the past 4-5 years the book would have more pages than the Bible.
Whoever it is for training they must make sure they get their money!
Gordon I never buy a program due to it being so expensive and I tried listening to a podcast once but found it boring so never bothered again. Can you please give a couple of examples of the bull.... the supporters are fed.

I think a lot of people know its bull.... but seem prepared to live with it for the time being but I can't see that continuing if we start to lose on a regular basis.

Gordon you could always kick start things by starting a few threads.   Im sure you have plenty of thoughts to offer
The first one would be where the training will take part for full time next season but on this occassion i will let the club announce it.
Don't think i was flavour of the month to announce the folding of the Reserves a couple of weeks ago!
I don't think you should take the blame for telling us whats going on and wouldn't worry about not being flavour of the month. That happens to everyone sooner or later at Lynn.Open secret at the Club that training will be at Heacham next season. It makes sense in a way but seems strange that a big NL Club going for a place in the football league is dependent on a local village club.

I haven't heard anything. Has the club been in discussion with the Council on the matter I winder... lots of grants in many sectors currently available ?
Its all gone very quiet on this.I think we should assume there's been nothing come from the discussions with the Council or Backie and Joes meeting with the people running Community football.

These idiots as you call them are volunteers. They are not paid for what they do.Without them you wouldn't be allowed to watch the game. The supporters in question are not 10 years old. They are old enough to know right from wrong. It seems the attitude of it wasn't my fault goes from top to bottom at this club. It's quite clear that some supporters on Tuesday night didn't need a Hi viz jacket to prove to others what they are. They have been allowed to get away with far too many things in the past and now think they are untouchable.God only know's how many other supporters don't go to games due to some of their past actions and how much it costs the club.On the other hand lots of supporters realise that the Club appear to have many shortcomings and that the management and the hangers on don't always appear to be on the ball with matters that don't bring them glory or when it involve rolling sleeves up and doing some real work. The Health and Safety Manager has ultimate responsibility for the Stewards so if people have a genuine complaint about the stewards they should take it up with him and not resort to calling volunteers idiots. He could even have been spoken to on the night of the game.

General Discussion / Re: Reserves
« on: May 25, 2021, 07:32:56 PM »
I see King's Lynn Town Reserves are listed as being in the Thurlow Nunn League Division One North for next season.
I thought I heard somewhere we were going to have an Under 23 team that played in the Norfolk Senior Cup and friendlies against the Academy teams of league clubs and not in the Thurlow Nunn.
Under 23's need a ground that's graded to at least grade 6. They won't need that if they just play against other Academy sides.
I think that decision may be made once they know exactly what facilities they have access to.I've been told that Backie and Joe are working hard behind the scenes on this and that a bullet had to be bitten before a meeting took place with KLCF. Maybe KLCF have some facilities the Club would like access to such as more access to Lynnsport as an example.
Backie and Joe would know more than most that KLCF have the ability, coaches, facilities and experience to make an Academy work. It would make sense if differences were put aside and they could work together for the common good. At least the two sides are now talking and discussing things.
I have no idea if the Club Chairman is on board with the idea of having closer ties so anything could happen with U23's!
I'm guessing on this one but I wouldn't be surprised if the Chairman would prefer that the under 23's don't enter a league with the cost being a factor, but the likes of Backie and Joe and other people involved with under 23's  would prefer them to play in the league.

Swaffham,Fakenham and March are able to offer a higher level of football than a Lynn Thurlow Nunn side, not to mention Heacham coming up fast behind. It would make sense for Lynn to tie up with another club or two and get these youngsters use to playing competitive men's football.
As it makes sense I doubt there's a lot of chance this happening.

Based on what we have. received for Karo what is your valuation of Sonny Carey as the press seem to be trying hard to sell him.

Depends what sort of league club he goes too.

Probably something around 50k (with added clauses such as appearances/goals/promotion totalling X amount), with a home friendly and a sell on %. That's probably still towards high end.
I think you will find that someone at the club thinks the value is nearer 5 times that amount.I heard that theres another player being sold this week.I don't think  its Sonny's time yet.I hope not.

Very little income coming through the turntyles?I didn't think there should be any income coming through turnstiles at the moment.
Is that a error or a comment on the amount of people there yesterday,as it seemed to be a reasonable gate all things considered.

Yes Whittaker from Bedford he was a cross between a donkey and a basketball player. I signed him because he looked good in (Bedfords) warm up. What a joke!
My Dad said we need to keep an eye open for someone called Jordan Davies from Telford.
