General Discussion / New Signing - Michael Gyasi
« on: December 21, 2020, 03:11:57 PM »

“The club are pleased to announce the signing of Michael Gyasi from St Ives Town. The 20 year old winger can play on either the left or right flank and in his time at St Ives this season he has netted five goals from ten appearances, winning three ‘man of the match’ awards in the process. Gyasi has also seen service at both Chelsea and Leicester City’s Academy sides.

Speaking following the announcement Lynn’s director of football Rob Back said ‘ Michael is a very good prospect and one we are pleased to have with us at The Walks. He is still young and keen to learn and he is looking forward to doing that here. He’s not a direct replacement for Jamar Loza and we are still in the market for another player.

Gyasi is cup tied and not available for tomorrow evening’s rearranged FA Trophy tie at Alfreton Town but will be available for selection for the Linnets Boxing Day encounter with Notts County.“

General Discussion / Darlington and changing ground for a year

Interesting story about Darlington finding a way to get around the crowd reduction rules by moving back to the ground that bleed them dry. Would be odd if the ground that sucked up all their money, might actually give them a financial edge this year.

And if they’re allowed, I wonder if other clubs will try and do similar, re-locate to a nearby bigger ground that they could ground share, so that they’d be allowed to have 4-5,000 fans in for a year. Would enable pretty much all there fans to attend (if they can get there), and would bolster the finances of both clubs in perilous times.

General Discussion / Bolingoli and Scottish Football

It’s a case worth following as it develops today. In short, a player who returned from Spain without quarantining played in Sunday’s game, and the Scottish government are mulling halting the league two weeks in.

You wonder if a similar situation at our level would have a similar reaction.
