interesting to read about the FA Cup - it focuses on Paul Bostock who will be the oldest ever player in the FA Cup when he turns out.

no one like to see this, especially something that seems so "small" in comparison to other sides.

Here's to hoping we hit the ground running this season and never have an issue like this again.

General Discussion / New "fun Chants
« on: October 27, 2016, 08:53:50 AM »
So as we all seem to be all doom and gloom I thought it only fitting that we revamp the club football chants.

Heres my two to start.

We're Kings Lynn, and we play hoof ball!
We're Kings Lynn, and we play hoof ball!
We're Kings Lynn, and we play hoof ball!
And our Striker, is only 5 feet tall!

(And repeat)

And

Stand up, if the food is great!
Stand up, if the food is great!
Stand up, if the food is great!
But we can't get in, until 3:15!

How about yours?

General Discussion / SPONSORS!!!!!! Yes you read correctly.
« on: September 08, 2016, 06:47:41 PM »
I have it on reliable info. that we have an away shirt sponsor and announcement incoming tomorrow.  So that should hopefully mean away shirts being sold in the club shop in time for the next home team game?

Home shirts are a separate matter though and not signed on any dotted line yet. I guess this is a way of maximising revenue streams , although for FA Cup games would we be under obligation to field in away shirts if we kept getting home draws? (That is a serious question by the way) ?

At least he is recouping some pennies so he can get the dish washer in the the bar so we can have glasses?

Surely this guy is clueless if he thinks it's only 10 people are complaining? Any thoughts on these?

General Discussion / PA system today.
« on: August 20, 2016, 03:53:09 PM »
A. The volume is way too high. If it's a mixer then you have too much top end cos all we hear is acoustic and no base and high pitch whirring a lot of the time true than the song itself.

B. The announcer today needs to hear himself around he game as a, he is talking too close the microphone so we hear his stubble on the mic and b, he has his levels all over he place too. Not one person heard anything he said regarding scores , half time announcement or 50/50's. Please have a dry run earlier in the day and out some people on the opposite side to give feedback so we don't have another instance of mic feedback and screeching like today.

MY HEAD HURTS!

General Discussion / An Open Letter to Kings Lynn Town FC
« on: August 17, 2016, 12:30:58 AM »
Dear Kings Lynn Town FC,

I am writing this letter to voice my displeasure at watching hoof ball and a sheer lack of drive and determination to play for the shirt that the players are wearing. Couple that with the amazing summer transfer window we have had and I feel dismayed. We all have been fans for a while, some more than me, some a lot more than me, some less too, and many more to come and hopefully to see the better days that will come with it. I feel that If some players were to put as much effort into tracking back, making forward movement, reading the game and closing down the opposition as they do when they argue amongst themselves,we would be a League club already :argue:! We pay our entrance fee week in week out, (or some a few times a season) to watch the team play football, so why do we decide to kick to touch so much? Today in the first half was a prime example, 2 strikers with neither of them a hand near 6 foot and we still try to play a flick on game? Are we trying to win games or just turn up for a pay check? That is the question that a lot of us on the sidelines are asking now after season after season of the same thing. We don't expect to win every game, but we at least expect effort and running for the cause.  (Fyatt leaving has also left a lot of us bemused, especially with the cryptic answers given in the interviews.)

Too many times have we as fans shouted from the sidelines asking, begging, heck even pleading for a midfielder to come short and pass the ball around a bit rather than ping it up top to our big number 9! :nilpoints: We have ball players in Clunan (who so far this season has covered less grass than the now departed groundsman), Stevo, Quigley and the now very promising looking McWilliams, so why not make the ball do the work? The first thing I was taught way back was make the ball and your movement make the opposition think about you as much as the ball and get knackered chasing the game.

It's simple on the chalk board and even simpler in principle, 1 come short, 1 move far and 1 make available in-between,always having 2 options open to the player with the ball. The image is a bad one but it is trying to demonstrate how simple 1 going to the ball, 1 being an easy option and a longer safe ball can be utilised.

We end up doing this instead:

With the backwards arrow the direction the ball usually goes, back into their central midfielders to recycle possession...

If players aren't fit enough then it needs addressing asap as simple things were and are done so wrong currently. Simple passes into feet are over hit, a square ball is hit with the outside of the right foot rather than the instep or even using a left footed pass instead. Easy throw in 1-2's are being hit into touch or fired so hard back at the thrower that there is no way even Lionel Messi could control it!

People that are and have been successful in this league get out of it by playing to your strengths, not playing a long ball that will not get over the top or get met by the head of your non-existent `tall`strikers.

Please can we have Kings Lynn Town Football Club and not Kings Lynn Town Long Ball Hoof and it's not my fault, I want to blame everyone else but me Club.

Thanks from a Lynn fan. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:(I don't think any of this will be seen or looked at, I just wanted to get it off my chest, much like I did during the game this evening)

nb. On a positive note, if the new lad plays like he did tonight it will force others around him to step up as he was head and shoulders above anyone else onthat pitch today. Seemed to ooze class on the ball, strong in a challenge and didn't whinge, just got on with it. Fingers crossed for Saturday
