General Discussion / Steven Cleeve for manager
« on: May 16, 2018, 02:49:00 PM »
Just been talking with my butcher and he has heard that the chairman is going to interview himself for the managers job. This is the same butcher who told me Grant Holt was coming a month before......just saying.

What does anyone else think of this? The St Ives game is on there plus slow motion replays. Good to see filming is back.

Whoopee!!!! Did not play great but what a win, and what a way to win with a worldie from Jacek (pass or shot?Who cares) with the last kick and a mass bundle in the mosh-pit. Whoopee indeed.

General Discussion / A year in football
« on: December 28, 2016, 10:49:35 AM »
Now I am sure I am not the first person to realise this but I have only just realised that we have played Kettering on the last two Boxing Days. Last year we got right royally embarrassed at home 0-3, yet this year we have gone away for a point. A sure sign that we are moving in the right direction.

General Discussion / Next game
« on: December 13, 2016, 11:51:09 AM »
Setch has just made a point on Facebook about tonight being the fourth leg of an away marathon. Fair play to the lads for their commitment. Saturdays game will be bit of a homecoming so let's have a good turnout.

Will there be a beer ban outside just like FA Cup games?

General Discussion / Lynn 4-0 Chippenham

Well that was simply fantastic. Everyone putting in individual performances yet playing as a unit. If I had to pick a standout it would be Curtis and Sam. It was a carnival.

General Discussion / Redditch today
« on: August 20, 2016, 07:57:28 AM »
Well, match day is here and despite the bumpy start (performances, wonky squad, lack of sponsor, price of a coke etc.) I cannot help but be excited. Looking forward to seeing the McWilliams lad again. Looking forward to seeing the ball being played on the ground especially as it is a bit windy. Interested to see if the "Gary Mills barmy army" chants will continue in the shed. Interested to see if there will be any afters from last season's mass bundle.

General Discussion / Friendlies so far?
« on: July 17, 2016, 07:08:31 AM »
Any further opinions to Setchs thinking for the season. The two friendlies I have watched featured Alex Clunan yet so far has seen little of the ball. Plus Liam Fryatt and also the lad in defence who switches from full back to centre. Which of them will be first choice as cover?

General Discussion / New kit
« on: June 05, 2016, 06:43:27 AM »
Am I correct thinking the new kit is being released this Wednesday and it will be available online immediately? Is anyone keen/indifferent to the new shirt?

General Discussion / Squad so far?
« on: May 27, 2016, 04:43:13 PM »
With all the hoopla from the last couple of days, let's spend a minute talking about the players. Signings so far are Street, Yong, Castellan, Gaughran, Fryatt, Clunan, Hilliard, Jacek, Stevo, Sands.
Out have gone Miller, Bridges, Friend.
Is that the lot so far or have I missed anyone?

General Discussion / Stratford

The lads in the shed were making a proper good old racket yesterday. I got home from the game and my missus reckoned she could hear it from the house. A great atmosphere even if the game was a little flat, typical end of season fare.

General Discussion / Conor Marshall
« on: March 03, 2016, 12:20:53 PM »
Can someone remind me what happened to Connor? If I remember right he got injured, this after putting in some MOM performances. With our good form of late, it is easy to forget him. Is he expected back before the end of the season?

General Discussion / Sam G
« on: February 29, 2016, 07:16:32 AM »
It would be interesting to hear some views on here about the reintroduction of Sam G, and also his new role in the team. He seems to have divided opinions around the walks on match day. He has appeared to be out of shape for the best part of the season, but his advocates would point to his ability to read a game as compensation. He came on last week and although he looked slimmer, he also looked like he could fall over every time he ran but then 'BAM' he helped to turn the game within five minutes. Then there was his valuable goal against Leamington. My personal opinion is a positive one. We know have 4 very good centre-halves to pick and an experienced player in Sam G who we will see come good.

General Discussion / Poole away
« on: January 15, 2016, 06:44:10 PM »
Despite some sporadic form we are flying high considering that we are newbies to the division and a young team. You only have to look back to this time last season or look at St Neots to see things could be worse. So good luck tomorrow lads and try to do the double over Poole. COYL.
