Mike Alcock certainly did have a transport business, as I previously mentioned it was based in Leziate. Don`t remember how many lorries he had altogether but there were several <br />  <br /> Alcocks Transport operated form these premises in Station Road, Leziate. Later on Cooper Transort operated from the yard but now Ben-Bec Plant Services & Howard Hire Roadsweepers operate from the yard as per modern day photo attached. <br />  <br />

Merlin was Chairman with Mike Alcock as Vice Chairman. Mike Alcock had a haulage business based at Leziate and if I recall correctly he organised the pitch overhaul to include the drainage system.

We have had 3 father and son combos,Fryatt,Setch and Tommy,any more? 
I recall Reg Davies in the mid 60s was player manager, he had a son played as a winger for the reserves, usually wearing the number 11 shirt I believe, struggling with his christian name although John seems to ring a bell.

Well done David  Thoroughly deserved recognition for Mick a true Linnets legend  Just a real shame those at BCKLWN did not seem to appreciate, acknowledge or have a wlllingness to be associated with Micks achievements and allow him the Freedom of Kings Lynn.

A little further back R Doughty and Son with George Mallett one of the main drivers. Also recall when Mick Wright was manager the club used Dacks buses 😲

I believe a lad named Pooley used to put the scores up on the scoreboard.
Also vaguely recall another set of alphabet letters down the Tennyson Avenue end of the ground, was it on the wall of the covered standing area opposite the main stand towards the corner flag or in the vacinity??

A couple of great posts there Colin. Its nice to reminisce......also recall Lynn playing Boston United. Hillingdon Borough were another difficult opponent at the time but sadly they didnt fare quite so well
Also remember Bobby Laverick, although I was a small lad at the time I cried when Bobby decided to leave Kings Lynn. The point however regarding Bobby Laverick was that he lived in Vancouver Avenue.............please correct me if I am wrong but I was always under the impression that the football club owned the property together with several other houses in Kings Lynn to include a detached house in York Road where Malcolm Lindsay lived.
When were these properties purchased and could Lynn attract better players with the promise of living accommodation, part time work, whilst also receiving a wage for playing football? Did one or two players run pubs?
