A point today would cap off a good week I reckon. As well as Tuesday's excellent win we've had:
U23's progressing in Norfolk Senior Cup on Wednesday More encouraging signs in terms of marketing i.e. email promoting last night's fireworks event. Small steps but encouraging nonetheless. Next game board advertising Farsley on Tuesday night has been in place all week. 4
General Discussion / Re: Boston sack Culverhouse« on: October 29, 2024, 07:25:09 AM »
As at least one Boston fan has pointed out recently, is anyone really surprised that a team who finished sixth in last year's National North is struggling in the National League less than 3 months in? Same thing happened to Kidderminster last season.
I guess the price for keeping the North competitive to the end of the season for so many teams is that a team who hits form in April / May is suddenly tasked with surviving a full season in an extremely difficult National League. As for Boston's decision, the chairman seems quite a rational bloke so presumably wouldn't have acted rashly. Perhaps having been in the North for 14 odd years he thought now was the time to act to at least try and avoid an immediate return. 5
General Discussion / Re: Hot dogs but no goals today.« on: October 26, 2024, 09:38:44 PM »With only 2 points separating the top 5 Clubs ( including KL) would now be a good time to get a goalscorer in ? Is Williams a loaner? I thought the timing of his arrival, straight after Margetts injury and Cybulski's departure suggested to me he was seen as a goal scoring replacement. But as you say, Mal, he isn't getting a start. One takeaway from the programme today, Cross, the Academy head is leaving for a club one level higher than us at end of Nov. 6
General Discussion / Re: Next up ......Buxton« on: October 25, 2024, 10:30:50 AM »Do let me know B & G, is the sign at the ground in sync with the website ........I don't really want to be finding fault......but come on guys it's really important that the off pitch stuff matches whats happening on the field of play, especially as it's a full time club. It's Thursday evening, less than 2 days from Leamington at home and the website is two matches behind where it ought to be. Next match sign at the front of the ground is up to date and has been for a few days now 7

General Discussion / Re: John Musgrove« on: October 19, 2024, 10:33:35 PM »
Unfortunately it didn't really work out for John Musgrove at Lynn. But he did at least bring John Linford to the Walks - when he wasn't playing for Mulbarton that is!
Sacked in the end, but boy did Musgrove get his revenge 12 months later, when assistant to Bill Punton at Diss, they knocked Lynn out en route to winning the Vase at Wembley. RIP 9

General Discussion / Re: Incoming« on: September 27, 2024, 11:26:10 PM »Morrison has been playing regularly for Tamworth in the National League alongside Toana Munashe Sundire ( his full name ) another former player Cheers Linnet. With all these Fleetwood signings Lakeland follows where John Gidman led. Anyone remember Paul Willis? 11
General Discussion / Re: New Signing« on: September 27, 2024, 09:28:43 PM »Ex Fleetwood. To be fair the Fleetwood supply chain has been fairly reliable so far. Out of interest where are last seasons Fleetwood intake this season? Morrison, Jones, Devonport? 12
General Discussion / Re: Home attendances« on: September 23, 2024, 09:24:21 PM »Looking at the attendance table posted by admin, then if we continue the trend we have at the moment then this season could be the 3rd highest average in the last 40 years. So that says to me the fans are doing their bit. Interesting. So the present season is currently only bettered by 2021/22, the 'post Covid' National League season, where a number of ex league clubs brought some hefty away support with them and 2008/09, our first ever season in the Conference North (under Keith Webb). Also worth noting the worst season in that list, 1992/93. Johns Dollimore and Musgrove fielding a team heavily comprised of local players. For those suggesting on a separate thread a couple of weeks back that local players could add a few hundred to the gate, an average of 280 suggests that they didn't that season! 13
