Thanks Mac, just read it and it is a fitting tribute to Neil and his input into KLFC.

Really interesting list of coaches with lots of experience in various roles to bring young players through. Future of the club below 1st X1 looks in good hands and onwards and upwards.

Seems very strange that neither Greg P or Mark H have made any mention of this on Club Twitter account.
The least Neil should receive is thanks from all connected to the club.

Seems according to Backie Twitter message that Neil is taking a break, he's done a great job for Lynn in many positions over the last few years and for that I offer my thanks.
I wonder where this will leave the reserves ?

General Discussion / Lynn Reserves
« on: August 23, 2019, 06:48:53 AM »
Just read the report reference the game against March on club website.
Good to see Ross Barrows getting 90 minutes.
What a tremendous job Neil Fryatt and his assistants are doing with such a very young squad, only 2 players including RB over 20.
Attendance of 139 is as good as most at the Walks last season for reserves matches.

General Discussion / FORWARD PLAYERS

Am I the only one who finds it amazing that now we are in a play off position that HL has been loaned out and JF has been allowed to sign for Downham and Clarke is soon going back to USA .
It's not long ago JF was appearing for 1st X1 off the bench and scoring an important goal.
Unless we have someone coming in what happens if MG or AM get injured as we have no cover on the bench unless PB is taking off his gloves .
Even if we have someone coming in surely HL & JF could have been kept for another week, utter madness.

General Discussion / Leon Mettam
« on: March 28, 2018, 08:48:08 AM »
Our manager cannot surely have failed to notice that yet again when Mettam is on the pitch the whole balance of the team seems wrong.
Why would you start with him when Gash is injured when you have Siddons sitting on the bench who is going to battle for any crosses in the area or high balls put forward whereas LM just cannot compete.
Put LM on the bench and bring on for last 15mins if needed.
Don't get me wrong LM is a goalscorer but I'm afraid no longer at this level and certainly not if we get promoted.
Poor piece of management by Setch to give him 2 year contract when money could be better invested elsewhere.

PS:Good to se Greg back posting last night, we certainly missed Mike.

So Mallard you don't want to get into a public debate but go on to mention several things you are not happy about, isn't that what you are doing.
Whilst everything is not 100% on the reporting front from KL I ask you what would you rather have, what we had from Tiverton on saturday or the coverage we have on 99% of our games home and away.
Perhaps you could offer your services to Tiveton on match days as anything would be better than what we received from them on saturday.
The coverage on here on match days is far far better than a lot of teams at our level and remember it is all done by volunteers who do it for the rest of us who cannot get to matches.
I also note that Yvonne Grainger stated on her twitter account that although she was at Tiverton for the game she did not tweet due to negative comments after she had tweeted at the Gosport game.
People who moan about those that do tweet then moan when nobody tweets sounds a bit hypocritical to me.
I trust Mallard that doesn't include you ?

General Discussion / Re: Top of the table clash?

Grissels you are living in the past if you think Buster and Setch would have us in the league position that we currently occupy.
Buster by his own admission was not a football man but credit to him for starting the club up again and Setch who I backed for several years was not able to cut it at step 3 but as being proved at the moment is a very good at step 5.
So give credit to IC for the current squad we have who are far superior to any other since we reformed even if you have no good words for SC.
Surely your post should have been NOT  :welcome:

The Cleeve hurdle is a Class 1 whereas Setch has only been succesful in a Class 5 Handicap.

Is this the same Gary Setchell who posted a photo having a great FREE christmas meal at the George Hotel last year.  :yellow card:

General Discussion / Re: Why isn't Mettam scoring goals?
« on: November 28, 2017, 06:58:15 PM »
Couldn't disagree with those comments Stan.
We also had Gilies & Hilliard at start of season both of whom are on loan so that makes 4 strikers in total plus Hawkins.
Therefore IC has had a chance to see all and if any are misfiring one of the others should be given a chance.

It will be interesting to see if IC goes with Lappin instead of Hawkins again tonight as it is an away game, is he trying not to concede early doors and then bring on Hawkins after 60 mins to steal the three points.

Does anyone know whether we are likely to see Matty Castellan back in Lynn colours this season or has he been loened to Dereham for the season. I would have thought with all the games he has been playing he is now fully recovered and would be another option in defence .

General Discussion / Top of league, still.
« on: November 26, 2017, 08:54:41 AM »
As BJORK might sing  It's oh so quiet on here.
Ok so clubs have games in hand but at least we have got our points and are top of the league so why oh why is everyone so quiet.
Is it because there is nothing to moan about, can't believe that as some will always find something.
IC is doing a great job and like or dislike the chairman you cannot say he hasn't turned the club around from where it was last year mid  season.
So come on all you true linnets give the club & players the encouragement they deserve and even you moaners must agree top of the league is something to shout about.

 :scarf:

General Discussion / Re: Three points clear
« on: November 15, 2017, 09:20:55 AM »
Following on line it seems it was a great second half performance by all the players.
That's 2 wins and 6 points since Holt left, that says it all normal service resumed.
Can someone who was at the match tell me what formation we are now using as looking at the list of players it is unclear.

General Discussion / PITCH
« on: October 06, 2017, 07:03:21 PM »
What is going on at the club at present.
Here we have an urgent change of venue as advised by the club with the opposition advising it's because of an unfit pitch.
No information from the club whatsoever apart from advising a change of venue.
In over 60years of being involved in local football I have never heard anything like it.
Has no one at the club got the balls to come out and tell us the truth about what's going on.
Will the pitch be fit for 2 home games next week ?
