General Discussion / Re: Club Statement
« on: January 24, 2019, 10:11:06 PM »
Nice to see that the club has finally taken action against this griup.

I say ‘finally’, as its a shame things have been allowed to get to this stage. Ive followed the twitter profile in question for the last year or so. In this time , i’ve seen personal abuse directed at rival club officials , anyone who dares to have a different opinion and even our own hardworking volunteers!

I dont think its a case of identifying who it was in particular who published the tweet. Personally, i think anyone assoicated with the profile should be banned. Enough is enough and a the club needs to take a tough stance. The ‘support’ this group provides is not the kind we need.

I also hope the perperator is dealt with by the relevant authorities and, if relevant, employer.

I hope the club statement is actually backed up with action this time unlike the flare incident and the condemnation that followed almost a year ago.

General Discussion / Re: Culverhouse resigns at Grantham

Good call that one Jesus.  Maybe, just maybe the Chairman is starting to see things differently.   If the Chairman did manage to talk IC into coming back I think he would go up a few notches in most fans eyes.  All Credit to the man if he could pull that one off.

I am sure Backie and Neil would be happy to move aside if a candidate of that standing was to join ( again).

Stranger things have happened.

Do they serve Humble pie at The George"?

Cant imagine the chairman wanting to give Culverhouse any plaudits after his antics this week, still stunned by what IC thinks is any way remotely a positive, professional action :banghead; If this goes pearshaped and we end up with nothing, does that enhance his stature? Their will be some players who will have their heads turned and not operate at 100%...... :nilpoints: having said that. I wish the team all the best

Birch, maybe the question should be who gave non league daily IC's telephone number, as its a closely guarded secret. This may not excuse IC's statement, as he could have put the phone down when they called him but unfortunately probably shows that there are some dark forces at work behind the scenes. Hopefully the Chairman is now aware of this and be careful who he trusts.

Where is the proof for all this players not being paid or is this just **** stirring??

Unless the information has come directly from a player/manager I'd say it was the 2nd one of those options. You know what this town is like for rumours!

Maybe you should ask the question of some of the Players? Personally I've always found the likes of Gash, Fryatt, Norman, Hilliard and Pedro very approachable.

I was thinking the same when I saw that another Hereford game had a smoke bomb/flare - was it actually a Hereford fan instigated incident at both games?

Jeez, really ?? Next you'll be saying iit was Hereford fans who invaded the pitch celebrating their injury time defeat on Tuesday ?

Excellent game by the sounds of it, shame the attendance was so low for a team playing so well and topping the table, what do people think is stopping people attending?  :dontknow:

The ‘Elephant in the room’  :dontknow:

I thought the flare was good fun - why don't people like it?

Are you being serious ?

:red card:
Just hope the plonker with the flare doesn't ruin things.Think they were young lads who got a bit carried away.
A bit carried away, but just happened to have a flare on his person!
Its not the first time flares have been used in last couple of years,so identify him and ban him.Or maybe the Chairman believes this kind of behaviour is not as serious as social media comments?
:red card:

Why have a dig at the chairman, did he bring the flares into the stadium, give the man time to identify the person/persons who brought the flares in and sanction them . Please do not slate him already, it's less than 24 hours ago?

Club have issued a statement regarding the flare (at least they have now been amended so SC doesn't 'deeply condone' the action):

https://www.kltown.co.uk/single-post/2018/01/31/Smoke-BombFlare-incident-update

I guess any 'digs' would be as a result of SC partially defending the previous action at Buxton.  Once the FA have their hearing I can't see club will get much change out of the £3 premium from last night.  Hopefully with all the extra stewards in attendance the culprit can at least be identified this time

Mr Cleeve is very quick to get his red card out to those who have differing opinions, I just hope he has a similar attitude towards those that damage the name of the club with such actions as mentioned above.

As to the perpetrator, i'm sure twitter users will have a fair idea as to the identity of him and also the 'pitch invader'  :red card:

Let's make sure it's dealt with properly this time !

Stan,  please don't attempt to tell me what to say or when please.   Or even try and get others to fire your bullets...

Setch, it would seem is no great lover of Cleeve. So likes to have a little dip now and again. Maybe he feels badly treated by Cleeve/The Club  for dismissing him.   Or have you other Ideas Stan ?

Setch must of been aware the axe was hanging over his head. The Chairman’s intentions were clear when he purchased the club. The team was performing at a subpar level. Only thing which surprised me was that it happened mid season.

What worse? A 'subpar' level or a 'well beyond ones means' level ?

Even simpler ask the chef about the burgers , he will explain nearly all "hand made" burgers are dyed to give the raw beefier look. So although they look uncooked they are all of the way through. These cannot be compared to the s**t you get from fast food outlets or budget supermarkets. Great to discuss burgers on a football forum, guess its because no one can find anything to moan about on the pitch?

Not so sure about that one Graham. These new Burger chains popping up around the Country now ask how you want your Burger cooked, just as a restaurant would ask you how you want your Steak cooked.
A medium rare burger! Really?
This 100% Beef can be a load of nonsense as well. A well known Chain advertises their burgers as 100% beef, but they don't tell you what part of the cow it comes from! Basically, as  long as its from a cow, its can be called Beef!
I'd never eat any meat product that had been minced, be it 100% beef, handmade or otherwise, unless it had been thoroughly cooked all the way through.
There's also the issue of ensuring the burgers are maintained at the correct temperature once cooked. Very difficult to do on a griddle, which is why Bain Maries should be used!

Begs the question are the people off the field keeping pace with those on the field.  IC and his team are producing.  When things weren't right on the field last season Stephen Cleeve changed it. Maybe he needs to look at the people he has under him in the commercial side.  It's all well and good having people who are good old boys and work for nothing but if that is not producing then maybe those people need to replaced with a more professional regime.

I think that's covered Mallard. One of the clubs new sponsors seems to have taken on an ambassadorial role and seem to be keen to expand the fund raising side of things. Just hope that Cleeve, and the powers that be,  don't look this gift horse in the mouth and utilize his willingness and expertise  :comeon: :scarf:
