General Discussion / Re: Tommy talk
« on: May 01, 2022, 12:35:03 AM »
The problem is , when we got promoted by default a couple of seasons ago due to covid, I felt as a club we wasn't ready for the big step up, and with no one going down last season, we could of built a team that could be at least mid table.

Summer recruitment for me was honestly a car crash apart from Paul Jones , and before Cully was let go, most was playing for a wage and not for the club. Since Tommy came in, we have kept in games , some not going our way, but you can tell that he hasn't managed in while as a few game we have let slip e.g. Yeovil as we sat back too much and gave away too many points from teams we should be beating e.g. dover away and Maidenhead at home for a start.

It is going to be a long summer of comings and goings, and its not going to be easy in the north, its all about getting the club back on its feet and with the right recruitment and taking the players on a lot of money or not playing off the books

We need a manager who doesn't use the pitch as a cop out. It was two very poor teams , played the game like its a testimonial . We need players who one will get stuck in on a pitch like this. Well I have seen the pitch a lot worse than this , especially in the Southern league, bit our pitch has always been a quagmire especially under the main stand. But I don't buy all the lame excuses from the boss and saying this is a good point.

Tommy's interview shows where the club are , if he is happy with a point and thinks we can survive this with teams like Stockport, Grimsby and Halifax coming to the walks, where we can't score , then he needs to get his head out of the clouds.  He is blaming the pitch again , but other teams can adapt and with all the injuries we have got, surely what lynn are or aren't doing in training isn't right.

It's all cheap talk !

Tonight's game just sums up the season , nothing up top, not positive enough on the ball and it was too much hitting and hoping for Gold to win the balls in the air, but he couldn't be bothered to compete against the 6ft 6 defender who had an easy night. Woking were so poor , these are teams we need to get the maximum points from. We need to have a team that will compete in the North next season, most of these wouldn't cope .  :shark:

I think after today you can see why he hasn't had a manager position since he managed Eastbourne and been behind the scenes. poor recruitment , tactically today the team was all over the place and it was shocking how easily Lynn was turned over by an average side. If this was a confident team like he says , it certainly didnt show on the pitch.

Some of them haven't played for the shirt whether it was Cully or Tommy for the majority of this season. I feel for Ross . both Jones and Michael for having bang average players alongside them, who's heart is not in it. And apart from today, we haven't really got any real goal threat too. So many mistakes this season which will cost the club.  :nilpoints:

I have seen some bad performances watching Lynn for 25 years of my life, but this has got to be one of the worst I have seen. There was no fire in anyone stomachs and lost the majority of the second balls. They broke for attacks so easily and this was painful.

Tommy talks the talk, but he doesn't walk the walk, and tactically so naive , bringing Josh off for me was a mistake and it feels like he was the escape goat in my mind , when Cameron, Theo and especially Mcgavin were so poor on and off the ball.

I feel also this squad would be struggling in either the North or the South , and for next season when we are back, the squad needs to be overhauled , go back to part time status and get a different manager in charge who will focus more on the team and give us realistic promises.
