General Discussion / Re: LN's article

I've followed Lynn for nearly 60 years, but we do seem to have a small minority of so called supporters who badly let down the club. Like most, I enjoy the wit from the Lynn crowd but these people are scum to be quite honest. They disgust me.

 :salute:

Only one person that can do anything about it as far as the Club is concerned.
But he will look at how many 20+s he will lose if he bans them, not at how many might come back if this matter was dealt with.
I will gamble that it will be allowed to continue and fester.

I had the displeasure of hearing this personally at Notts County on Good Friday and although there were police and stewards keeping an eye on  the 200+ KL supporters absolutely nothing was done.
I then read that the Grimsby supporters on Easter Monday were likewise the recipients and now seemingly Eastleigh.
Will Cleeve bother to do anything about it? I doubt it as that would mean reducing those paying to come through the gate even more.
Are we as a club really in the 21st century or are we still in the late 1990s. It certainly sounds in respect of this particular matter that we are still in the 1990s.

Oh and up pops Gordon. Never anything nice to say. Being salty all the time really doesn't look good on you.
As for the scoreboard, which will provide advertising opportunities if people/businesses are charged a good rate and the uptakes good it could/should make valuable money for the club.
Yes that is me but telling the truth and facts, something that you don't want to read.

Why aren't the Finals being played at The Walks?  Digging up the pitch or too expensive to rent the pitch?
As per usual vastly to expensive. This is not the first season they have been at Fakenham.

100-125k seems rather low when you factor in.

Advertising Boards
Stadium Sponsorship
Match Sponsors
Ball Sponsors
Stand Sponsors
Player sponsorship
Programme advertising
Clubhouse lettings
Events organised

Plus other ways of raising funds
A stocked successful club shop (not a lean to greenhouse) is capable of outstripping any of the above. But you have to speculate to accumulate not wait for something to be ordered and then order it from the supplier. How many nowadays actually go in the clubshop on matchdays and come out with what they actually want!

In fairness to SC in his time at the helm the only people he has asked to invest in the Club is the fans.
Totally wrong Mallard. Not just the fans.
Also allegedly loads of potential sponsors(his words) who all shied away when the telephone number sums were quoted. Sponsors words.

"little old Lynn"?  I thought it was "sleeping giant" :dontknow:
I blame the A47. Firstly Peterborough, now Norwich and Kings Lynn.

All teams have awards? :dontknow:

Saturday May the 28th, Heacham Fc at Heacham Manor.
When was the last one at KLTFC? Probably down to trophies cost money. Electric scoreboard obviously more important. LOL!

Thats a great gesture NWNL to donate to the 8.56. In less than 12 months the charity has come a massive way in helping various people with their ongoing issues.

How many Heacham boys are in this Heacham village team ?
That's it try and take the shine of an amazing achievement.
I present you with the STUPID QUESTION OF THE WEEK AWARD!
Now to redeem yourself name 1 team that has a squad of minimum 20 players that live in the village or town of their chosen team.

So little old Heacham didn't sit on their haunches and fold they moved on, not like other teams in that vicinity Old Hunstanton, Hunstanton, Sedgeford, Thornham etc etc who did obviously not have enough village players so they folded!
Back in the late 70's i lived in Terrington St Clement and signed for Wereham who did not have enough home grown players to survive. Also at that time Hunstanton had several of my Speedway FC sunday league players making up their team on a saturday.
Heacham Social Club FC folded in the middle of this season because of lack of players available.
Can anyone name me one single team that is made up entirely of persons from that particular village?
7 years ago Heacham FC advertised for a manager and David Griggs was appointed. 7 successive promotions on and look where they are now FLYING rather than FOLDED.
Look at cricket locally, exactly the same argument! Basketball the same etc etc.
Time to move on.

So its nothing new, its about survival

Don't think it was a dig aimed at taking the shine off of the tremendous season Gordon, just a general question,as years ago most village teams were made up from the village? :dontknow:

Wroxham getting runners up great achievement. Imagine how comfortably they would have won the League if Joe Taylor had stayed with them a little longer ?

Think how comfortable WE could have possibly been, if we had called him back from Wroxham!

Not doing so, when we were crying out for a goal scorer, has to go down as one of the strangest decisions of the season.
But they did bring him back after reading thgis forum and actually played him for 20 minutes of one game. Then Posh came along!

Obviously the same SP song sang by some of the same group at Notts County. It was absolutely embarrasing and those responsible need to grow up and have a long look at themselves.
In todays or even previous years society there is no place for it and i certainly cannot recall anything like the same being sung over many years of travelling the Uk following the Linnets, ever hearing opposition supporters singing it.
Come on Lynn supporters, you are better than that, your support week in and week out cannot be denied but there are far better songs and words that can be sung and get a far better response.
So if anything should die and be put to rest then start with that!
