General Discussion / Re: Managers Interview Post Buxton
« on: October 09, 2023, 03:46:45 PM »
I think he has made a huge mistake. As someone with ambition and desire to develop and improve, with an emphasis on getting involved with a full time club, why would you take the first one that comes along? This is a full time club in name only, and does not have anything near the infrastructure and support required to be full time club. This move is unlikely to improve his CV regardless of his ability, because decision making will always be a key consideration of his future employment.

General Discussion / Re: Match Commentary
« on: August 05, 2023, 05:26:43 PM »
I see we are once again reliant on the away team’s services on Saturday.

With the current X/Twitter feed refreshing issues, regular updates may be challenging for those who can’t make it to The Walks. As ever in this league, lots of long distance away matches coming up.

Perhaps a good time to look at how others do it (ie provide a commentary) and seek out a sponsor if necessary ?????

I fear that any potential sponsor would have to go to the Club and request that they are allowed to be honored and pay to have a relationship with them, rather than the Club approaching a local business and showing the initiative.

General Discussion / Re: Cleeve in the Norwich paper.
« on: September 18, 2022, 05:20:39 PM »
What percentage of the crowd is defined as local support? How many, like me, attend from time to time and have never lived in the town? If Mr Cleeve is serious with his his concerns this is the deep down he needs to perform, if not his feasibility work will be null and void. It is certain however that the town appears not to interested in football until something like a play off or advanced cup round is achieved. This is so clear that it is such a perfect indicator to anyone with a slight sense of business. It is never going to be a money maker for the foreseeable, just a local club with the usual ups and downs. Some one  is dreaming, glad it is not my cash!!!.......

No I am just a looking at the situation and considering all potentials that will come from finishing the season relegated, this will be after a run of fixtures of low attendance and little income,

Whether Clunan has gone or not is just sentmental discussion, based on his outstanding contributions to the Club. Reality is that gone or not makes no difference to the prognosis. I do hope he can stay/return with/to this club whilst/when a new set up is  created hopefully no more than two levels down.

If true it is a sad day, but actually most of last year on here he was deemed not good enough by many of you. If he has an alternate life and football is not the bread winner then for sure playing at a level where he is amongst some good mates from the previous days sounds a sensible option. The uncertainty at Lynn, and being surrounded by "just passing through" players and coaches must be fairly grim for someone used to the previous unity. Final point whilst most already discuss "North or South" for next year, where will Lynn go if administration kicks in? Which level would come from this?.

General Discussion / Re: Bromley 19th Feb
« on: February 19, 2022, 03:13:18 PM »
Can some one explain the morning inspection process? It seems to be a trap that Lynn, obviously desperate to play(money I guess) keep falling in to. With the precision of todays weather forecasting surely it was obvious that a downpour was imminent and that the ground could not take a drop of it!!! ...

Yes think you have it correct, but the lack of interest is aligned to off field, rather than the pitch of play. It is a confusing mess, the Notts County incident regarding the pitch of play was locally very embarrassing to all supporters. When a club is struggling on the pitch, the last thing you need is shambolic situation control, predictive expectations failure and general organisation disabilities. Where are the pitch covers?, did we not see the weather radar? If we still have covers (transported to Lynn with such pride) why did we not use these.?

The negative posts are of course acceptable, after all the situation is just that, very negative.

The clear message is that the problem is IC , and he is trying to fix his errors..this is human nature, therefore he is actually not guilty in my opinion , and only the Chairman can correct this, ...Action from him supports potential ambition to maintain current status....no action now from SC ...it is game over , accounting management and risk / loss reduction..attempting to move a non viable situation for the best possible return...

If SC was picking the squad / team and signings..IC would go, he did it before and would do so again..

« on: November 14, 2021, 09:23:55 AM »
The similarities to the recent Norwich situation are obvious..much admired manager who let players go and re-built a new team without large funding. The results are the same, neither has managed the impossible and things need to change. Norwich have taken the plunge, in the hope that different structure may keep their status alive. Lynn are different and for sure, looking at the low attendance today in fair weather conditions, are in an awful place on and off the pitch. If the manager is still in place for the next match, it will indicate that Mr Cleeve has abandoned his dream of taking this little club to the football League and Lynn have found there absolute max in the football world without to much of a crash...Safely drop to the level below or the next one, but still have a club. Hopefully no trouble, it did not seem to be.
I can’t believe anyone would post something like this.Reckless at the very least. The only reason Cleeve is here is because he wants to take us to league football and you want him to abandon his dream. Its doubtful he would be here without this dream so you must want him gone. Then you want us to be relegated one or two levels which will result in people losing their jobs.Nice! :
I
Apologies Nikki and like you I feel the thought of Job losses etc  very uncomfortable...However I dont think we can escape reality at the moment, regardless of how traumatic it may be...

Yes I think IC  on the return from Grantham, let SC know this was the case, and if SC had influenced this current team IC would have again left the club using this as the reason...

Yes Mallard not that I totally agree as we only speculate here , but the Chairman will not be moving on quick...so the only thing that can change quickly is the "fall guy" and yes history tells us a manger change often gets 3 points...
