General Discussion / Re: CLUB STATEMENT + NEW JustGiving Donation Page
« on: March 28, 2020, 06:03:36 PM »
I seldom write on here, but have supported the club for 74 years . There have been many ups and downs but I have never been so disollutioned as I am today. Many years ago I was privileged to run the supporters club with David Wright. Quite straightforward  we organized thing, sold refreshments ran the end of year presentations any any surplus money was handed over to the club. Today it seems we need at least 2 separate sections collecting money supposingly for the good of the club, but cometh the hour of need nothing available. If the money is to take over the club when iut fails then I suggest you all WAKE up as your few thousands would last more than a few months, As was stated earlier time you all forget your ideals and realize that the club wants money now or it might well fold and I hope not Sorry for my rantings but I am so angry that a simple way of collecting for the club has been made so complicated. PLEASE TRY AND SORT IT OUT Thank you

Stan I fully understand w hy  you started the thread but it has been done to death. You really must learn to say enough is enough, or do you always intend to have the last word. This is certainly my last word on it I have better things to do

I would like to comment on the notification thread.
I have been watching Lynn for 74 years "I am 82" and I find it totally senseless and totally annoying. I believe one of the last comments about trying to get the most posts is absolutely correct.
Several people use strange names and say everybody knows them, well I don't and I don't suppose you know me.
Maybe some might if I explain a bit more about me. I have worked for the club in many different roles from cleaning the dressing room, shoveling snow, manning a turnstile turning on the floodlights and for several years was Chairman of the Supporters Club assisted by David Wright who most of you will know and the great Ken Gadsby.
Lets call a halt to this thread and deal with things that are important to the club and not about individuals.

I can only hope that the reason for pulling out is a commercial one. I do unfortunately believe that there must be other reasons, and if that is so I am very sorry as we need to attract sponsors not let them go. Which ever it is, thank you fall all the things you have done for this great club you will be sorely miissed.

On the subject of the bar area, I agree it is a mess and shouldnt be so.When I ran the supporters club with David it was a very well used area.We ran a bingo every week, very well supported, no much alcohol but a good money earner. Some one mentioned the music at the weekends, I was always at the heavy metal nights to keep order, but was not needed as there was no trouble much alcohol consumed.2 things that could help improve things are as followed. 1 as already said get the tv on to sport and 2 organise a proper presentation evening. We have 2 groups of people getting money for the club and I believe it is time some of it was spent as it helps nobody in the bank. Why not pledge to pay the Sky sport costs for say 5 years. As for the presentation evening we used to have a Priors hog rost, guest speaker who did the presentations and a disco or local group, the place was always buzzing.Unfortunately everything requires organising and volunteers do seem so forthcoming these days. I am afraid I am in my 80s so beyond me now. Please dont just sit moaning do something. Something just came to mind, I dont believe there is Country and Western in town now but if you listen to Radio Norfolk on Saturday mornings they give out the gig guide and a lot are held at Football clubs, worth a try

Unfortunately I am unable to attend many evening functions at the club now so do not know what the end of season presentations are like.
When I ran the supporters club we always had a guest speaker, a priors hog roast meal and a disco or group. The place was always full and really great atmosphere with quite a large amount of alcohol drunk.
The club was also the place for heavy metal groups to perform, as above great atmosphere. Never any trouble with the neighbors re noise. Could try again?

In agreement re feeling tired. We have a small squad that is being worked on, our new recruit for yesterday looks a very good addition and IC said in his interview they are searching for a right fullback.
As for who we have now, Frazer unbelievable the other defenders satisfactory.
We are missing Henderson dont know how long he will be out, fingers crossed not long.
We now arrive at our Captain. Where I sit in the stand yesterdays comments were new man a good buy and what does Clunan bring to the party. He usualy passes which ever way he is faceing make more bad passes than anyone else in the team and wants to take every free kick and corner we are awarded and usually not very good. It was noticeable in the second half he was doing a lot less so maybe was told to leave it to others.
When he is playing at his best he is pretty good, I just wonder if he thinks as the Captain he is Number 1 on the sheet. When we have every one fit and well a spell as sub might do him good.
No match this week will enable all the players to take a breather and be ready for Saturday by which time we may have another addition.

General Discussion / New Year, clean sheet.
« on: January 01, 2019, 10:28:10 AM »
With a New Year I believe it is time to get behind our club, without talking about money, a bad Chairman etc
.We are doing well now after a bad start to the Season, a mistake was made and admitted.
As for the finances it is nothing to do with us, the Chairman spends what he believes he can, and NONE of us know about wage bills and all the other things that are talked about
Lets stamp out the monologues by the same people, if you want to be in the limelight all the time, go into politics then your egos can be satisfied.
I dont talk on here often but I do read a lot and it becomes very boreing.
COYL and a Happy New Year to everyone connected to our great club, that I have supported for 73 years.

I think it is time for Michael to drop to sub. He makes more bad passes than anyone else and we waste so much time because he has to take every free kick every corner and not all very good when he does. Once on Sat second half we got a freekick outside their box, right side Jones getting ready to take it, Michael snatched the ball from him like a little schoolboy, then didnt take it. It seems he has lost his edge and stepping down might help. Bring Thomas in and try Jones further up the park.I thought Saturday was entertaining and believe Limb will be a great asset.

Just been reading about Grantham, having a bad run 4 defeats on the run and down to 11th. Seems Ian Culverhouse isnt doing so well. They are desperately wanting a striker, so we arent the only one.
Agree about the new Grissles. Congratulations on being allowed back in.

Wixy: Ryan Jarvis can play up front; in fact that was his position before coming to Lynn. Jones can play in Jarvis' role and Thomas plays right back.

Jarvis did used to play as either up top or as the attacking point of a diamond midfield, but one gets the feeling his move to a more defensive role is linked to his increased age and decreased pace compared to 10 years ago. I donít think heís the answer when it come to goals.

On the upside he an Clunan have really formed a solid central midfield partnership that should serve us well for a couple of uears if they can be kept together.
Sorry about my last post, was called away to the telephone before I finished and sent it. I didnt mean to be so rude. I have thought for a long time Ryan F would make a good stand in forward.

Agree about our lack of a leader of the front line. We have seen Toby for 2 seasons and he is not the answer. Agree limb looks good, first real movement yesterday was a run across and a flashing shot unfortunately behind. I think gash and limb would work but if Gash is not fit, why not put Ryan up front, he is probably the best header in the club, can use both feet and doesnt mind putting himself about. He could be replaced by Matty Castelan. As for the Management team we cannot afford 3, possibly 2 but 1 must go. As for yesterdays game I enjoyed it St Neots were quite dirty and we werent drawn into their tactics. I af cause mean Ryan Fryatt not Jarvis.

I am very sorry to say, that 3 weeks into the season The Forum has become the grissles page again.
We had a few weeks prior to kick off that he contributed very little and it was a pleasure to read what was being said, some positive some negative as it should be.
I dont know Grissles and I am sure his heart is in the right place, but it is time to use his brain better, get behind the club or stop commenting on everything about the club in the usual manner. I thought the silly statement about getting a driving ticket was absolutely pathetic and serves no purpose at all.
It takes a big man to say sorry and mean it, why not try it you might be suprised where it gets you.
