General Discussion / Re: Kairo Mitchell Leaves for Chesterfield

Based on what we have. received for Karo what is your valuation of Sonny Carey as the press seem to be trying hard to sell him.

Depends what sort of league club he goes too.

Probably something around 50k (with added clauses such as appearances/goals/promotion totalling X amount), with a home friendly and a sell on %. That's probably still towards high end.
I think you will find that someone at the club thinks the value is nearer 5 times that amount.I heard that theres another player being sold this week.I don't think  its Sonny's time yet.I hope not.

Very little income coming through the turntyles?I didn't think there should be any income coming through turnstiles at the moment.
Is that a error or a comment on the amount of people there yesterday,as it seemed to be a reasonable gate all things considered.

Kes, Tommy Taylor would sign you up straight away.

All you've got to do is look good in the warm up!

Yes Whittaker from Bedford he was a cross between a donkey and a basketball player. I signed him because he looked good in (Bedfords) warm up. What a joke!
My Dad said we need to keep an eye open for someone called Jordan Davies from Telford.

Is the Chairman saying he hasn't got anymore money or that he's got it but not prepared to put anymore into the Club.
If he hasn't got any money left my fear is that money going into the Club now could be used for repaying him the loans he's made to the Club.
If he hasn't got any money and has no income as Culverhouse told the Press the other week, then who could blame him for wanting his money back. He's got to live on something.

Fro club website:

As a club we do not wish to comment further at this time as the situation is one that continues to change and develop on a regular basis. At present our chairman is working very hard behind the scenes as he seeks clarity on the various scenarios in these unprecedented times.

Tell us what's changing and developing on a regular basis then.
What exactly is he trying to clarify? We have already been told what's happening?
I do wonder if they've ever got the hang of this media game, other than using it as a platform for self promotion and handouts..

His predictions so far have been way off the mark...

Hence why they're call predictions........

 :farmer: :farmer: :farmer:
I don't think I'll be taking any notice of any musing or stock market predictions that appear on Twitter.
Cully did say there is no personal income so that could be why.

Is there a Media blackout currently in force at the Club? People who usually like to use social media platforms to excess are very quiet at the moment.
I'd like to know what the people in charge are actually doing to keep the club going without much income. Do they intend to carry on if the vote says they should? Is the Chairman prepared to put more money in or has he spoken to the Trust? Does he intend to lauch a major fund raising campaign? Does the club need saving or is it all ok?
These are the type of things the club can tell us now as they don't need the National League to make these decisions.

General Discussion / Re: Game off.

I'm not quite sure how Carol's attempt at Michael Fish prophesy lead her to believe that the game was always going to be off. The pitch has excellent drainage (1 game  lost in 11 years) and regardless of what forecasts she was referring their was no precipitation in the area throughout the day and after the efforts to remove overnight snow the pitch was perfectly payable. Naturally with fixtures piling up every effort was made to get the game on. Up to the deluge (please note Rotherham,  Notts and the scabs suffered the same late fate) there wasn't a problem.

With regards to 'having to take time off work' you are undermining your clubs own achievements you are in what is virtually a full time professional league, enjoy it.The fact that fullback Fred is on 'earlies' down the mill, wouldn't be a consideration.

Using the 'covid times' card is a bit low especially when considering (although not against rules, but it doesn't sit well with some) car sharing.

Anyway all the best for the season, it's just unfortunate we can't visit your town (there would have been a good following) and you cant enjoy the  Technique experience with all the excellent local ale houses and eateries within 5 minutes of the ground.
That doesn't sound like the Carol I know, but it does sound like someone else I know at the Club. Scripted?
