I thought it was your number 10, could be wrong. Whoever it was it was still a good shot and great save.

Shrimpers fan here. Your lads certainly worked very hard for each other last night, not least your keeper. He pulled off some pretty special stops, without which we would probably have been out of sight and cruising to 3 points before half time. So what do you lot do? yeah, you scored, and that was definitely not in the script as far as we were concerned. Harry Cardwell was mentioned earlier in this thread and if he can cope with the extra pace of the NL, he will score lots of goals for us, so a good signing. Widdrington has cause to be disappointed as he hit a stormer of a shot second half, but our keeper somehow changed direction in mid air and parried his shot. He could, maybe, do with losing some weight as he gave our crowd the opportunity to have a playful dig at his size. So, to the penalty, was it lucky, maybe, but the ref missed a blatant hand ball from one of your defenders just prior to that so maybe the ref was making amends. This bloody league is a tough one with lots of strong sides and any thoughts we had of cruising have been cruelly crushed and everything has to be earned with hard work. Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season.

A slightly uncomfortable thought, not for you guys but for the Club's stewards and security. There have been several reports on our board today that our fans on the covered terrace were on the receiving end of coins and liquids lobbed by some of your home fans standing close to them. By nature we are a noisy bunch but not known for violence but it probably wouldn't have taken much more for our lads to be over the wall and having a chat. Your club will undoubtedly have away fans that may not be inclined to let it go. Shame because it was a great day out and you deserve credit for making it so.

Morning Linnets. I share the views of 1906, the travelling faithful had a great day out, although I think we were going to enjoy ourselves regardless of the score line! No complaints on your ground, apart from the length of your grass maybe, stewards and the police were friendly and welcoming and as for the game itself, on another day the score could have been 4-3. One financial point worth mentioning, I travelled up with the Shrimpers Trust coaches, three of them, and we had to park at the Gate House Pub (for free) as your club wanted to charge 40 per coach to park at the ground.

Good luck for the rest of the season. Keep playing your passing game football, but cut that grass as it will make for a better game for your lads.

Morning Linnets

I think my user name makes it clear I'm a Shrimper and very much looking forward to this game. It's already been said that we will be bringing a few of the faithful along, and after so long without watching live football I reckon we all, you and us, will be up for this match. The weather forecast is looking good so it should be ideal for a good game of football. Yours is a new ground for us so are there any eateries near the ground or is it part of the complex only? Similarly, some of ours will be looking for watering holes, so are there any you would recommend? Cheers all, see you on 21st.
