Well my post has certainly provoked a reaction........and a very positive one at that.
I am very pleased that those that posted in reply, felt it was such a good, entertaining watch.
I could only go by the highlights and the respective manager's comments.....one of which I seem to recall suggested Lynn didn't really have a shot on target to trouble their keeper in the second half.
Just for the record, The Walks is a 3.5 hour round trip for me now. I have decided that I will consider making the trip only when the Club connects more fully with its fan base and spells out a clear vision to me of what its intentions and aims are. Possibly one of the reasons the attendance was as it was, is because some others feel the same way.

Not a great result that. Having watched the "highlights", it looks like it must have been a pretty drab affair.
Here's hoping for better on Saturday, both in terms of points and entertainment value for those that attend.

Realistically I would say play off chances are hanging by a thread after the poor run they have had and given how tough the run in looks. When games in hand are taken into account Lynn are something like 4 points off the 7th place. They will probably need to win 6/7 of the remaining 10 to do it. They will certainly need to be positive, both in selection and on the pitch.

From the Moors website:
"The attacking midfielder has made 16 appearances so far this term, scoring once in league action "
Well I hope this turns out to be a good signing.
At the moment it seems a bit of a desperate one. Missed out on a few, for whatever reason (probably money, primarily) couldn't get a decent striker in and felt they had to get someone in. But if the guy isn't match ready and isn't a regular goalscorer, does that fit the current remit ?

Can't knock optimism It's the old lack of information for supporters again though isn't it it......if the club are serious about going for promotion then pay to get a goalscorer in. If the club doesn't have the cash then tell us. In summary TELL US YOUR PLAN......if you have one.

Think you are clutching at straws B & G ...Kiddie are due a win ......and they have some goalscoring forwards.
Unless the new signings lined up are stellar and arrive very soon it,might be wise to wait now.
I see Sports have some momentum currently.

Rumours certainly make this club go around.
High time there were some facts and a well laid out plan for everyone to buy into.
Until that time it doesn't really matter who comes and who goes and there's little point in pursuing the play offs IMO.

That's the first time I have seen AL seem a little bit disheartened and worn down by the whole thing., in a post match interview.
I am sure there are many reasons, but Lynn historically, fail to refresh their squads around the turn of the year, when competitors do....happened under IC and TW too...much to the Managers'frustrations.
With apparently no clear financial plan to work to, it must be very difficult for AL to remain super enthusiastic, when it's pretty obvious that the current squad had almost over performed up to Christmas and are now beginning to struggle.
If there isn't more clarity soon, it would be normal for him to question whether this is what he wants going forward.

Yes..the most important thing for me is someone who paints a picture of what's going on where. I think he does it very well...keep going young man !

Rushall will be similar to Sports I would have thought.....similar opposition, similar Lynn eleven.
Obviously hope for a win, but not sure where it will come from tbh

Not for the first time i question the value of full time at this level and the Club's attitude over recent times towards local players. Apparently Gash and Fryatt were magnificent at the heart of the PS defence. Gash would likely still be with us had we remained part time and Ryan Fryatt along with Joe Taylor and Fletcher Toll were not deemed to be 'good enough' ?!
Well I have to completely agree Rod. We have been second best to Sports in derbies for a while now and obviously cant handle them, Alfreton or Farsley currently. A promotion winning team would hope for 4 points against those sides over a season, so 12 points in all.....with one game to go we have 1 point from the 12. Sports are part time and have low attendances, yet are mid table. Can one really justify the extra expense of being full time when one looks at the table ? If and when Lynn get promoted they will need almost a whole new squad anyway, so it's not like being full time now, helps going forward, does it ?

This post is partly in response to AL questioning what the fans want. Well who knows whether AL, ever looks at this forum...we certainly know the media team do, so may.be things get passed down.......
I suspect AL may have been informed that the club is a sleeping giant , when he took over. Possibly also, if you get success on the pitch, crowds will come..eg York, more than 4,000.
However, I believe there are some strong requirements attached for any of this to even be partly true. Obviously what follows is just my take on things:
Firstly apart from maybe the solid core of 700 or so, supporters or would be supporters want to know what they are actually supporting before they commit on a regular basis......what is the plan, what is the intention, will the club be solvent going forward, if it did get promoted, could it actually afford to go up and stay up. If none of this information is available, then what is there to buy into or support ?
Secondly, fans at Lynn are used, in recent times to the club being up there....2 years ago 2nd on 93 points, 2 previous years National League, previous year, won the NLN. To get the crowd building you need consistent home performances....entertaining attacking football and wins, coupled with some pricing offers. There have been a number of false starts this year....start of a decent run, so crowd turns up in decent numbers and then a really disappointing performance when they are there. Those extra few hundred that were there on Boxing Day were there for the experience and/or to give it a try again........they weren't excited by the performance and therefore weren't vocal and probably won't be there again until there has been another decent run......that's just the way it works.

That's a really poor result.....Lynn needed 3 points just to stay in the automatic promotion mix Just don't seem to have an adequate game plan at home to the bottom clubs. Thats Sports, Farsley and Needham where Lynn have come up well short. So disappointing when they do well at Brackley and Chester and then negate it.
Also it seems whenever they get a really good crowd in this season they fluff their lines......likely to be back to 800 now for the next few home games.......just stifles any crowd momentum .
Margetts isn't scoring with any regularity........I wonder whether he has fully recovered from that spinal injury.
Our only other dedicated forward Omotayo can't get any time on the pitch it seems.
Surely in today's circumstances one might have expected Hughes (85) and Omotayo (90) to feature earlier. Are Lynn that afraid of the attacking threat of the likes of Needham that they can't be a little more gung ho at home? If there is no real intention of using Gold then it would be best to let him go.........I am sure there is another step 2 side around that would take him and get 10 goals from him in the rest of the season.
