:laughcry: Football language I don’t think so. You only have to walk around and hear  the standard of language being spoken these days as you go around town etc.

:scarf: Overheard a conversation and Gold has a leg injury out for? 2 weeks. No wonder we are looking at more strikers there haven’t been many games this season when they have both been fit or selected.

:scarf: Agree with the above final sentiment. I reckon nearly half the regular die hards are all pensioners. If we don’t encourage the youngsters the club will only go backwards.

Despite the misgivings of those who aren’t realists the players bought in have strengthened the side and as such the club are in a much better place than last season. Rome was not built in a day and the new manager has turned a relic team into one that is doing quite well. I can’t remember promises of promotion being made!
I would expect to see more progress during the season and close season to beef the team up for a big push next year.

Young Cody is a short gap replacement whether now or at the end of the season, either way it’s not the way to build and develop the team. Even though at this stage he’s my player of the year.

It’s about time the team learnt how to find a way to deal with the up and under long ball games instead of joining in.

:dontknow: Marriott in? he is now 3.5 seasons down the age road, if I am correct he never scored many goals since leaving and has missed several games through injury.
There’s no Gash to lay the balls on for him.
Am I pessimistic or correctly dubious?🤨

:scarf: Only a draw against a big robust team who didn’t want to play football as we know it . Kick and rush, push and pull, time waste, try to fool the ref in getting KLTFC players booked or sent off. We needed a stronger ref and assistants today at times.

:scarf: I just wondered whether supporters at bigger clubs ie MU Arsenal etc have supporters so disgruntled or feel that they are just customers!

General Discussion / Re: A win in the wind at the Walks
« on: December 13, 2024, 01:44:45 PM »
:scarf:  If as some want local footballers then the club will go backwards and attendances also as with Setchells time. SC’s ambition is imho too high a peak to climb without higher attendances and more financial inputs. :countingmoney:
I feel that with the correct model we could have a good team playing at this level when comparing our rivals attendance figures without putting the club in jeopardy financially.
Perhaps with the release of the football structure and management with implementation under the appointed commissioner changes will be enforced that may improve things. :laughcry:

Apathy, there are too many other “attractions”
Too much football on television with a Saturday lunchtime game.
The “ younger ones”  often have no appetite for physical sport preferring to tap their fingers at home. Look at the local football leagues and there are not anywhere near the same number of teams as there was in the 70’s.
Where wives  and children used to come they don’t because they or their spouses don’t want them subjected to the abuse spouted by ill mannered supporters
As has been mentioned before there has been no ground improvements to attract more supporters.
Although it is not as expensive as going to a league game it’s still expensive if you add other costs if coming in from outreaching towns and villages.
Then there is the attraction of Heacham, Downham, Swaffham and Fakenham  football to compete with.( I have no idea of the costs but it may be more convenient and offer a reasonable afternoon’s entertainment
People are more home orientated.etc.etc
