As I watched the first half play out, I thought we'd just carried on from the second half of Tuesday night. And it didn't get any better.

There was almost zero to get behind in terms of positive football throughout the match. We were extremely lucky not to have gone three or four down by half time. And it had more to do with them missing, than us defending.

Jones came out of his area twice inexplicably and I still don't understand his motivation at all. The ball was cleared off the line at least three times by others when Jones was in the "wrong" place.

Now I'm certainly not going to lay all of the blame at his feet. The back line should really shield him from most of the attacks. And there were often six of them.

If you want to play the sitting back and defending style of football, THE BACK LINE HAS TO BE STRONG ENOUGH TO WARRANT THAT CHOICE !!!!!!!!! GUESS WHAT... IT'S NOT!!!!!

From my lofty seat at the back of the stand, I can tell people with a different view that a couple of times we had all 10 players defending and nowhere near the halfway line. If we got a quick break, there was nothing to do but wait for the next attack.

And I must defend Omatayo, I clearly saw him jump...once. It came to nothing, but I guess at least he tried 🙄

(Note to management...he was no ****ing good when he left. What possessed you to welcome him back ? Nothing has changed. Unless he's playing for free, he's overrated and overpaid.)

I deplore negative playing and defending, defending, defending. It's hideous and terrifying to watch, but I could put up with that if we're scoring too.

Whilst I defend people's right to boo, my personal view is that it doesn't help the players. They know they're having a mare and really don't need reminding. Simply unconstructive IMHO.

That said, I seriously considered leaving just after half time. It would have been only the second or third time in getting on for twenty years of watching Lynn.

My season ticket is looking ever more like a waste of money 🎫 🧻🚽

Perhaps by the time of the next home game, I might have forgotten how truly bad yesterday was. But without vast improvement, the gate will really struggle to reach the higher hundreds. And it doesn't bode well for our future.

I also thought it was a lively match and agree with previous posters about the determination of both sides.

It was initially played at a very quick pace and I wondered if it would be possible to keep it up for 90 minutes. And things did slow down gradually, but not at the expense of the effort and entertainment. A draw was a fair outcome.

I also agree that we had the best of the first half, but not the second. Well worth the money, even though it continues to devalue my season ticket 😉

It's a great 3 points and we should applaud it as such 😺 ⚽⚽

We can always hope for a home win on Tuesday night as well, although I've recently noticed that when I'm at home asleep during a match we tend to win 🤔

So my quandary is...do I enjoy the match on my birthday and hope for a win...or do I stay at home asleep for the good of the club 😏

I just don't like the bloke, and Gold, like Barrett, often looks like he just can't be bothered. He regularly comes across as arrogant and disinterested 🥱

But I accept he helps at the back and agree that his Donny goal was brilliant 😏

He's a "Marmite" player 😝😍 When he scores we love him 😺...

It's a tough watch.

He can't seem to work out if it's his "fault" or the players'. Or both.

Having seen him struggling to name more than a couple of players who did the job, it's difficult to see how it will play out for both him and the "team".

Do they all step up. Or are P45's more likely. Either way, we certainly can't rely on any vulnerability on their part.

For Lynn it's just another match and another 3 points are up for grabs.

Another player who was and is "misunderstood" is Mr Gold. I've made no secret of the fact that I was glad when he left... and extremely disappointed with his return.

AL has put on record the fact that he's struggling to see how to fit Gold into the team.

I suggest that AL should admit defeat on that one, as to shuffle the team about, just to find that sweet spot, will probably have a detrimental effect on the rest of the team.

The club has been on that dodgy ground before. Mettam and Grant Holt spring to mind, although I suspect the latter was just a headline grabber.

There's no "I" in team 😕...apparently.

We're mostly playing a defensive game, but without a strong enough back line and not enough regular goal getters. You can't just say "come and break yourselves against our defenders, it's a no through road ⛔", when it clearly isn't.

But give the bloke credit for getting us in and around the playoffs.

So having read the forum yesterday I got the impression that we were pretty lame to say the least.

But in the LN article Lakeland appeared to blame the pitch, names a couple of players, bewails the fact that potential signings have gone elsewhere and anything else he could think of.

Nowhere does he take any blame himself 😕

Oh, I forgot the one about our location 🙄

The fans apparently escaped censure this time, but I'm sure we'll be back in the next report.

He's now starting to come across to me as delusional 😔

And I know we've been up in the playoffs for a while, until yesterday, but perhaps it says more about the opposition playing badly than us playing well. Time will tell ⏰😒
