Quinn. I got wind of the 'collection' and advised people to keep their money until they could be sure it would benefit the Club.

That is why he slagged me ( and others) off in the programme yesterday.

The man is an absolute spiv and has spent the last few weeks lashing out and being as awkward as he could be. I am not actually sure people would believe some of the stunts he has tried to pull recently.

Better times ahead hopefully.

Kenny R, I didn't see a programme yesterday, but nothing about Cleeve is straightforward, open or honest, which is disappointing and really quite sad.

He's behaving like a two year old bashing his toys against the floor and screaming because he doesn't get his own way.

And quite honestly, every time he vents, be it in the programme, in the press or on social media, he embarrasses not only himself, but the club as a whole.

I suspect a lot of his problems are self inflicted, clearly not recognising when it was time to cut his loses, load up the wagon and head off into the sunset.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate what he's done and will always be grateful to him for giving me my football, but the P45 is under the windscreen wiper of your tank. Mr Cleeve... you're fired !!!

Perhaps you'll let me know if I qualified for a mention in the next programme, Kenny R 🤣😂🤣😂

I'd forgotten about the bucket 🪣 collection and asked one of the young ladies which charity it was for.

She lifted it up so I could read it. She didn't say anything and looked rather embarrassed.

I declined to contribute to that particular "charity" and was rather annoyed that they used proper charity buckets to collect. Devious springs to mind.

If I could get clarity on the financial finagling, I might have contributed a generous amount, but it's not going to happen. So my money stays where it is.

As for expecting a young lady to go amongst the Scunthorpe supporters and potentially endangering her, why would they want to contribute anything ?

Shame on you Mr Cleeve. Shame on you 😔

For me, the best match I've seen this season 👑⚽

Both teams gave it their all. Most of the team had an amazing day. The only player who disappointed me was Warburton who couldn't seem to find his mojo. Jones certainly earned his pay and could give Eubanks (junior) a run for his money 🥊🥊

Cody Johnson was a reasonable choice for Man of the match, but it must have been a tough decision to make.

Monday's three points are imperative and it's exciting that it will all run down to the wire 😬

Would hopefully also mean better communication and openness to ALL fans, whether a trust member or not.

What a nice thought, but for now lets just start with the Trust members.

We don't want them to get information overload!

B&G what an arrogant and patronising thing to say. If people who aren't in the Trust don't deserve to be heard on any subject on this forum,   perhaps you should restrict access to the forum for "members" only.

I've also been trying to "read between the lines" as I'm not currently a Trust member. Either post the email on here for all to see, or find a better way of asking "members" what they think about it, rather than starting an open thread on here.

Here's a suggestion... try asking for opinions by... email. That way you can keep your secrets secret !

How many of your members even look at the forum, let alone post comments ?

You're doing a great job of alienating other forum users and potential Trust members. Well done.

As we will never know where our donations will end up I'll keep mine in my pocket others can do as they want.

I'm in full agreement with you Kitty. The bloke's basically been  documented with a doubtful past and I have no reason to think he's changed.

How many begging bowls has he had out already ? And we never hear how much is raised and what it's been used for. War chest, paying for "unfair" fines, the extra quid towards loan repayments.

I've probably forgotten some, so please feel free to add any I've missed.

But I can ignore all of the backstage drama if he gives me my football.

Even typing it and seeing it in black and white makes me feel like I'm both an enabler - for him to continue his relatively unchallenged machinations, and somehow tainted, grubby and ashamed that I need him for my football fix.

So my cash stays in my wallet and when I choose to spend it I will know both how much I spent and what I've done with it.

"I think many have said it is all built on sand and that may well come to be proven true but Quinn, it surely can't be right that you think the club's only hope of survival (albeit short term) is to go up and keep the investor on board, appreciate beggars can't be choosers but does reinforce my views on the benefactor model."
Tony, I appreciate what you say, and I know my post sounds somewhat cynical, but I really can't see this all ending well.

If there are other "solutions" to saving the club then where are they ? There's certainly the usual dearth of information coming out of the club.

No one would be happier than me if the club could become a trust/supporter-owned model, but sadly I just don't see it happening here in Lynn any time soon. If ever.

In my opinion, the only realistic (rather than cynical) outcomes are 1/ Get promoted and crash out of NL with benefactors running away and abandoning us. Or 2/ Don't get promoted...and the benefactors running away and abandoning us.

What is option 3/  ?...

Just going to ask the question.  Do people really want to see us promoted to the NL ?

With all the uncertainty surrounding the situation with Bal and Jo if they aren't involved has SC got  the money to support a Club at that level.  The squad we have at present would be way short of the NL standard, in the main.  A massive squad restructuring would be needed to compete at that level.

What do others think ?

I'm of a similar position to you, Mallard 😕

I find myself torn between the desire to get promoted and the fear of instant crash and burn at the end of that season 😏

There are very few players, if any, who are capable of being effective at NL level. And I'm not trying to dent anyone's ego, but just say it as I see it 😏

It would be difficult, as ever, to get players in at that level given our geography, (although it's an age-old excuse which may or may not be entirely accurate these days).

I suspect it would encourage mainly players who kiss the badge but follow the money around the league, or promising youngsters who are sold on if they're any good ☹️

It's madness to believe that this model is in any way sustainable 😕

Personally, based on what I think and what I know, I can't see us lasting much longer as this incarnation of the club 🐦‍🔥

I think our only hope, much as it worries me, is to get promoted and trust the investors to stick with us 🫣

The alternative doesn't bear thinking about ⚽⚽⚽🕳️😭

I have never read such doom and gloom in my life I believe some on here need to spit on their hands and get a fresh hold

On this particular thread, some are only saying similar to what you have said in the past.

Well said B&G, spot on 🫡

Mr/Mrs/Ms ? Hill can't have it both ways. If he/she/they complain it's legitimate, but if anyone else has similar opinions at another time, they come under fire ☹️ Double standards don't sit well with me 😾

It worked yet again 😯

I was asleep when the match was being played⚽🥱😴😴... and we won 😺

Could be something in this 🤔

It wasn't a conscious decision in order to test my theory, I just wasn't feeling too great 😏

Pretty sure it only works for away games, although as my season ticket has already been shredded, I could be persuaded to book myself a sleep on the 5th... 😉⚽🥅 😴😴💤💤💤

Leopards and spots?

Unfortunately you're absolutely right 🐆⚫🐆⚫🐆⚫

Perhaps a hole 🕳️ would be more useful than spots under the circumstances...a very big hole... and quite deep, I should think 🤔 Hmm 🤨

I thought the bloke had stopped with his childish outbursts. Clearly I was wrong 🙄

Whoever's in charge these days needs to yank on his choke chain 🔗 and bring him back to heel 🤐

I really don't care if he wants to make a fool of himself, but when he continues to make a fool of the club, I draw the line 😾
