I'll post this on here - then me and everyone else can see how right or wrong I was come the end of the season - but as we all know from last season football's a funny game.

Had a look through the teams, summer signings and pre-season and I think this league looks a lot more open than last season.

My prediction:

1  South Shields
2  Morecambe
3  Macclesfield
4  Hednesford Town
5  Brackley Town
6  Chester
King's Lynn Town
8  Darlington
9  Spennymoor Town
10 Oxford City
11 Buxton
12 Scarborough Athletic
13 Worksop Town
14 Merthyr Town
15 AFC Telford United
16 Harborough Town
17 Radcliffe
18 Hereford
19 Marine
20 Chorley
21 Spalding United
22 Southport
23 Hebburn Town
24 Bedford Town

South Shields would be my favourites. They were only just behind Fylde last season and I can't see them being too far away again.

Morecambe could easily win it on footballing ability and have made some very good signings, although there still seems to be enough going on off the pitch to make me slightly wary of putting them top.

Macclesfield should be up there again, while Hednesford are probably the really interesting side. Back-to-back promotions normally makes you think survival, but they seem to have plenty of ambition and are being tipped to do very well.

King's Lynn

I've probably got us higher than quite a few predictions I've seen, but I actually think Caddis has put together a pretty decent squad.

It's obviously a huge rebuild and it may take a while for everyone to settle, but bringing in players like Aaron Jones, Zak Mills, Ryan Tunnicliffe and Kwame Thomas gives us a lot more experience. There are also some younger/newer players who could turn out to be very good signings.

For me, seventh and sneaking into the play-offs is realistic.

The biggest question is probably goals. If someone can step up and score 15+ then I could easily see us finishing higher than seventh. If we struggle for goals again, then we're probably looking more towards mid-table.

Either way, I'd be very surprised if we're anywhere near the relegation battle this time.

Dark horses

Harborough are worth watching. Signing Britt Assombalonga at this level is certainly interesting and they could be much better than your average promoted side.

Oxford City are another I think could surprise a few, and Worksop are capable of having a good season if things click.

I'd also put Lynn in the dark-horse category. Going from 19th to challenging for the play-offs sounds a big jump, but with the number of changes Caddis has made I don't think last season's position tells us much about this team.

So my main calls:

Champions: South Shields
Promotion contenders: Morecambe and Macclesfield
Dark horse: Harborough
King's Lynn: 7th
Bottom four: Spalding, Southport, Hebburn and Bedford

I'm actually quite looking forward to this season. For the first time in a while it feels like we could be looking up the table rather than constantly checking what's happening below us.

It's a register your interest for the coach - free to register your interest, but once sufficient numbers have been reached, you will receive an email confirmation containing a payment link to secure your place on the coach.

Says £30 - no depart time listed, but I'd be thinking around 9ish.

I did hang around after the forum to have a look and talk about the Blue and Gold bar and outside Fan Zone.

I'm sure most have seen some pictures online of the 2 * 100" screens in the bar now. But other things that are going to be done - so I was told.

In the Blue and Gold bar - booths near the bar (where the shelf thing is currently) - each booth having it's own screen.
Dart boards on the opposite wall to the 100" screen - each dart board having a screen above.

Fan Zone - a couple of shipping containers (food and bar) - speakers already outside on the main stand wall above the tea/coffee serving shutter and a TV going here too. The area will also be covered (but I'm not sure how much will be covered, I should have asked that question)

All to make fans want to turn up before the match and what the early game on TNT/Sky, have a few drinks, something to eat etc.

Quote from: Grissles Oleary on June 14, 2026, 07:19:21 AMCould the club do the same season ticket/shirt/drinks vouchers as last season?

I'm going to say that's not happening this season (I would have taken advantage of it if it was happening), but you do get "Special member prices in the refurbished Blue & Gold Bar" with your season ticket.

No word on what that special price is, but I would expect it to be 10% as that would match the discount a season ticket holder gets in the club shop.

With it being a new shop on the website I'm sure there will be more items to buy appear in there soon.

I'll listen out at the fan forum Friday and see if anything is said about it - if not I'll ask the question.

New Year's fixture on Saturday the 2nd sounds good, but knowing our luck will get one on the 31st December like we did a couple of years ago.

But whichever date it is I'll be there of course.

It offered monthly payment - but I didn't select that, so don't know how many months it was going to be over.

Available today (but I think only if you had one last year)

I had standing last year - so was only offered the same again.

£249 - same price as last years super early bird.

£2 for ticket as a plastic card - I like the plastic card so paid it.

No option to upgrade / change area - just to renew.

I did the Plus version last year (Shirt and drink tokens) but no option for this - which says to me they are not offering this option.

For those that haven't seen it

https://kltown.co.uk/news/2026/05/27/statement-media-team-update

Noah's a good lad - spoken to him at several away days. I've not spoken with Conor, but sure I will at some point once the season gets underway.

I seem to remember reading that player contracts run until June, so likely why they are still on their. But yes the "Our People" section should have been updated when they made those statements earlier this month about who was moving to what roles.

Quote from: Trotsky on May 20, 2026, 09:24:32 PMCan the club sort out a pre- season friendly down here in the home counties please. We have a strong Linnet fan base down here  :scarf:

We did play Ebbsfleet United in one of last years pre-season friendlies - was a nice day out, nice local bar up the road from the club (The Rose if I remember correctly)

So hopefully we can have one or 2 more like that.
