General Discussion / Re: Cambridge City home
« on: August 17, 2016, 09:52:51 AM »
What disappointed me was the fact I had ventured into the bar after the game, hoping to feel some of the buzz the players must have been feeling. This was not to be, players are now required to take their after match food upstairs with the match sponsors, part of the matchday for me is mingling with the team after the game, win, lose or draw it is always nice to take in the atmosphere, even young Gerald looked like a fish out of water waiting for players with his book.  :dontknow:
Know what you mean Grissles I always found it a great way to end the game  talking to the players etc etc
now I just get in the car and go home  saves me 15 in the bar afterwards - but  IMO it alienates the players  from the real die hard fans who enjoyed a chat with the player's etc after the game

By the sound of things it's not all Rose's in the ground think the next few game's will be Crunchie  time for the team

2 games in  and all the pre season hype is out the window back to the moaning and groaning  Yes we lost and it was to  St Neots

but there are still 40 plus games to go . Yes we do need to support the strikers yes we make mistakes at the back and I am dam sure the players know it and the manager knows it as well. forget the negativity and get behind the players. I bet if we get to the play offs the moaners will be saying what a great season we are having

Well at least the club is moving in the right direction  and with the presidents suite open for the match sponsors excellent
news for any future reserve match sponsor

all positives before a ball as been kicked  well done to all involved on moving the club foward

With expectation which I am sure all Lynn fans have at the moment  comes at a cost -  players wages etc
and we were told at the forum if we don't have A we wont be able to afford B.
IMO opinion if the off field stuff like food and drink is up to scratch and we have live games in the bar before our Home games
the crowd numbers will go up which will benefit all the supporters. If we do get promotion the costs will be even higher and I would imagine that there will have to be ground improvements  as well  so the stakes are Extremely high as Rod suggests.
season 16/17 is going to be a rollercoaster of a ride  so hang on to your hats.

What about Drew Roberts from Snots? He is looking for a club with more ambition or is he too old at 32?
Hang on, Stevenson is 32.

Seen him play several times  has a decent brain on him  forget the age  he  could do a good job for us IMO

Didn't take long for some one to say good riddance  Typical  -  IMO Buster has done an excellent job  on securing the club from where it was when he took it over  to where it is now - lets turn the page over and look forward to the next Chapter

Tend to agree with Rod about this  the Jury is certainly out on this

Where I wonder does this leave Setch  And will the New man have his own Team to run the club  ??

Ross Watson always gave 100%  Spriggs  could score goals  a bit greedy at times though  -  Danny Jacobs  left foot  superb

and Tolley  could score goals as setch once said about a screamer he scored at the walks if that goal had been scored in the premiership they would have been talking about it for weeks.

Interesting Point Tazzy  there will come a point when say we get promotion out of this league to the next level  when the finances will certainly have a big part to play  the next level after that is the conference which is  then a massive  major financial commitment from someone the question is then also  would fans be prepared to 20 a ticket  to watch lynn  ??
until we get there we will never know  the answers to these questions but it certainly raises a good talking point

With regards to movements, this is the spreadsheet I always keep an eye on. It places clubs solely on geographical position and always works on the assumption that the highest placed club wins the play offs in each division. Normally updated daily.

https://goo.gl/IYH40c

If we stay Southern, we might be losing Paulton and Bideford from the league but will be gaining Cinderford and possibly Taunton!

I see the spreadsheet now has us transferred to Isthmian Premier
Think this would be a real disaster if we got put in this league  no stand out opponents in this league gates would IMO fall below what they are now
