General Discussion / Re: LEGENDS HALL OF FAME
« on: April 27, 2016, 10:44:00 AM »
I Agree with Badger  that the older generation know far  more players than I certainly do . having been a Lynn supporter for only a few years ( we all have to start some where )  I can only comment and vote for players I have seen, but I am sure that there should have been a starting  point of  say at least   20 players voted in  - which is my opinion , because when the voting starts again  next year it will be the same players again who didn't get voted in  plus a few others .  which I believe will create boredom amongst future voter,s   Just a thought

Memory is a little hazy but I'm sure it's the fastest hat trick I've seen by a Lynn player.
Hi Robbo it was scored in 22 minuets he scored in the 7th 12th and 29th minuet

Agree with you robbo  legend  means different things to different people and from different era's   I also remember the hatrick at belper  one with his right  one with his left and a header from the edge of the area and there manager getting sent off and having to walk  across the pitch  to the tunnel in shame  o Happy days

IMO opinion the club is in a far better place than they were at this time last season I always thought that this would be a consolidating season and we have performed far above what I thought we would so all credit to the management team on that.
Next season with the same squad we can push on and get  promotion hopefully from this league and not the northern one.

absolutely spot on Robbo 84 -  a legends list of only what will be 3 doesn't look that appealing so add the others as well

Hi Mallard yes I agree with your point of  youth for the club   it's great to see them coming through  - in relation to Mick Wright I can only go on what other people tell me about him and yes he should be straight in there at No1 - the problem is that with the Bar set to such a high standard  anyone else  is automatically compared to this and they don't come close so then it's down to personal opinion  and with many names on the list of past players  who I have never seen play a I can only comment and vote if I want to  on what I have seen on and off the pitch. it's all about opinions  and that's mine. At the end of the day I will  support the 11 players that take to the pitch  for Lynn and perform  for Setch

I think it more likely and wholly understandable that most votes will be cast for those that voters have seen play, now that Mick Wright has quite rightly received an automatic nomination.
Having been a lynn fan for the last 6 years  I can only comment on what I have I seen  - yes great players in the list but some I have heard of but never seen play so it would be unfair on me and them to vote for them . personally  all these people on the list  should be inducted this season the  reason  being that as only 2 persons per season get voted in it will take 8 seasons to get them all in and who ever doesn't get voted in this time  I am sure will be on the list next time  and the current fans who do the voting wont be bothered  as it will be players from long ago who like me may not have seen them play . MIck wrights achievements will never be beaten as players these days seem to  chase the coin IMO   and  a loyal player is hard to find also with more teams playing the same standard of football it is easier to move to another club. SO IN MY OPINION PUT ALL OF THE PEOPLE ON THE LIST IN THE HALL OF FAME  AND AT LEAST WE WILL HAVE A STARTING POINT FOR THE FUTURE BETTER WITH A LIST OF 18 RATHER THAN 3

Agree Mallard when you put it like that  the odds are most probably against us but who knows
re John sands  he use to play for bury  and I saw him several times there -  he played with bridges there
bit of a greedy player who would take a shot from an impossible angle rather than pass to someone with an open goal .
hopefully that has changed. saying that, that's why he won the golden boot a couple of times. can be a bit of a firey player and use to get booked a fair bit . Hopefully he is the type of player that  Players like Sam Mulready can feed off  so a big plus
on getting him in.

If They Don't get at Least the 3 points deducted ( should be 6 points for a second offence ) there is no point in having any rules about who can and cant play so when George Thompson turns up to watch Lynn get him to play for us  instead of sitting in the crowd.

A full statement from the FA is the least they can do- talk about a respect campaign they run  most people don't have much when they do things like this

Hi Mallard it's a complete joke that United are in the final, I assume now the FA have set a president and that by playing an ineligible player it wont count against you. Should have been kicked out of the competition  end of story. bet if we do it tonight
we would be straight out

General Discussion / Re: Lynn v Hungerford POSTPONED
« on: March 07, 2016, 02:31:44 PM »
When you look how many local games were called off this weekend it was hardly surprising that our's was called off. at home I had 27mm on the thursday night and on Saturday I had another 13 mm and with all that white stuff and rain this morning
I doubt that tomorrows game will go ahead

Does anyone know when the Redditch verdict will be known ?? or is wait till the end of the season to see where they finish

IMO it should be a deduction of 6 points  ( 3 points from that game against St Neots and 3 points for a second offence )  and the game replayed  -  anything less than that is no deterrent
