General Discussion / Re: Entry fee?

Mallard, and 1979 Linnet talked some sense, in all honesty what's 2 quid these days, we are talking 40 -50 a season, drink a dozen pints a year less and there is your extra attendance money, as its already been said, do the business on the pitch, and the gates will soar, without sounding snobbish 2 is nothing, make cuts elsewhere.

Its been a tenner now for a few years, didn't we charge a tenner in the UCL? so everywhere we played tried to charge us a tenner also.

Well I was wrong on all fronts, I said a 2-0 defeat and a crowd of 450! well done all, but Saturday will be tough, prove last night wasn't a flash in the pan.

Sorry all doom and gloom at the present (wonder why), so I am thinking 2-0 home defeat in front of 350, I will be there , don't know why.

Can someone tell me why the players above mentioned would be interested in coming to Lynn? its not for our wonderful style of football is it?, as long as they can head a ball, because it will spend a lot of time in the air. These goal scorers probably get decent service.

Well done the team for last night, a good point, but I hope some of you don't get to excited because its only papering over the cracks.  the manager signs the players, and he has signed a couple of duffers. at least the local lads will give you 100%. Mettam? well done Setch.

I was one of the 566 people who turned up today and with the exception of some of our forward play, we were dire, I spoke to a Weymouth fan who has been here a few times in years gone by, his words were "the worst Lynn team he has seen", the sad thing is we have the players, the problem is the top end, sorry Setch, its time to call the taxi.

General Discussion / Next season.
« on: January 20, 2017, 11:05:13 AM »
I am thinking that now that this season is over, except the NSC, its time we started to plan for next season. we do have a strong group of players, the best we have had for a few years, so lets have a few games with what Setch thinks is his strongest side, injury permitting stick to the strongest side, lets have players in their correct positions, lets try different formations without upsetting the balance of the team. I also think we should be more adventurous when playing at home, because some of the tactics we employ at home leave me baffled. Setch has been in the job for around 7 years now, so come on mate be more forward thinking !

He has also played for Cambridge City, Kettering, and St Neots.  Walked out on Steve Appleby at Wisbech, after failing to turn up for training. Luton were interested but he has let other clubs down also.

General Discussion / Christmas Period
« on: December 31, 2016, 12:29:02 PM »
Is it my imagination or are we playing less games over bank holiday periods now? I can remember 3 games over Easter,Friday, Saturday, and on the Monday. My late father also said that he had seen Lynn play on Christmas day, Wisbech, and the return on the boxing day. Always big crowds for that fixture, 4 to 5 thousand home and away.   Why not a fixture today, we have games to make up, the weather is decent, and in a few weeks time we shall be going to Wales for a midweek fixture. If the premier league can play today and Tuesday why cant we?

Now then trust, what about buying one for the club as a kind gesture with no strings attached?

I remember watching him play, he had a good brain on him and was also a good tackler. I also remember speaking to him in the bar afterwards, not a drinker, but a very social person. as were all the players back then.   Am I correct in saying that his brother John lost a leg in an accident?
