General Discussion / Re: Changes for next Season ?

I have a question for tazzywazz. Why ignore what Linnet 1947 said?  He was spot on with his comments, football is a game of skill and entertainment, there has been very little of that on the Walks this season, simple things like passing the ball have been forgotten.

What a great achievement, finding 19 minutes of highlights in what was a awful game, I can only remember one, we hit the bar, 10 to see that!  Tuesday night I shall be staying in.

Seeing Setch having a moan in the Lynn News and some of the remarks on here, there seems to be the opinion that we think the team is not good enough. I don't think that at all, its good to see local players in the team and doing well, but I will not attend another match
when I come away with a stiff neck after seeing the ball come down with ice on it. the players are better than that so its about the style, not the players. going back a few years we had some very good footballing sides under Reg Davies, Peter Morris ,Gary Mills, Tommy Taylor, even when we had caretaker managers like Carey/Weston?, Lynn fans will watch a football team, ask the players if they like their style, they may surprise you.  That's why the gates are down, its not lack of effort, its lack of tactics.

Some good points there Mallard, now is a great time to blood the youngsters, give them a run in the team because what he have seen this season has on the whole been poor, some of the players seem to have trouble lasting 90 minutes, and basic skills like passing to feet has been non-existent, having seen the reserves this season they have better technical ability than many first teamers. But back to Mallards point, there is no time like the present, give them a try!

General Discussion / Re: King's Lynn v Dorchester on Saturday 12 March

Yesterday was pathetic, running around like headless chickens, what was the game plan? no football, just the big boot to our so called forwards, if anybody wonders why the gates are low , just look at that rubbish yesterday, the sad thing is Dorchester are not a good side. instead of wasting  money on more players, spend it on a decent coach.

Rod, it was Peter Morris who style of play was more suited to a narrow pitch.

What about a huge well done to the reserves, a 10-1 win against anybody is a great feat, well done today!

As we are talking about players who we may have let slip through our fingers, I remember we had a young striker who played for us around 1977? A local lad called Andy hunt, a good player, we exchanged him for a Kettering centre half who wasn't very good, in fact I think it was his 2nd spell with us, anyway they went on to sell Hunt to Newcastle for a good fee, he was then sold for another good fee to Charlton, were sadly he picked up a injury which as good as finished his time in football.  I am trying to remember the centre half, help please?  Also a player called Wayne Biggins, I think he went on to better things.

Mallard, if I can be so kind as to reply to your question, the squad quite often punch above their weight, but how many times have they under achieved? to many, but its the style we play, most home games just 1 up front, often bypass the midfield by just lumping it up to the lone striker, we play with very little width, when we do play someone like a Jack Friend, we fail to give him the ball. Its been said on here that we were brilliant on Saturday, lets get real, Chesham were rubbish and were there for a right hammering. I think in that game we under achieved.

I think some of you are in dreamland, all this talk of playoffs etc, I have been watching Lynn for many years but last night was the final straw for me, very little football, no shape , poor defending, and a manager who along with his coaching staff have very little idea, even on the simple things in the game. I was at Snots, we played well, but that was because it was a team on the slide, like us after Christmas last year. Well enough is enough, I may go and start watching the reserves  , but that shower of a first team and what goes with it, well forget it.

I think its time we moved on, they are all in the past, we have a bright future with some good young talent coming through, lets stick with them, they will not let us down.
