General Discussion / Re: new signing

Nothing against the lad, but this is wrong, more people out of work, we are using handouts to sign players. Unless someone has won the lottery.

General Discussion / Re: The season
« on: January 03, 2021, 11:23:23 AM »
There is a danger that Covid can scupper our season in the National League, with the call offs and trying to squeeze in the games , its starting to get silly, and I don't think the League is doing much to help us. Why the big hurry? Long treks away on Tuesday nights this time of year is unfair on a part time club which have players who have to work in the morning after.
The Covid outbreak is not getting better anytime soon. Halt the season for a few weeks, give everyone a chance to get vaccinated and restart when we know we are back to normal, and on the subject of government bailouts, as has been said on this post already, NO club should be allowed to sign more players while taking financial aid.

Its another trek on a Tuesday night sometime in the new year. Add that to others, and sorry to say I think there will be more. Its been said already, but I also think the season may not finish,  well guys and gals, to say its been an interesting year is an understatement, one we will never forget.
Happy Christmas ,and a better new year to everyone.

General Discussion / Re: Torquay

Now the dust has settled over the Torquay match, its important that we try and get a settled side. One of our problems has been the constant changing. We found the correct balance in midfield were we have been over run in most games, and up front Gash and Southwell is worth another look. Every player looked comfortable, stick with it.

Non league, Alex Brown is a good player, perhaps we should look at our captain, Clunen has been found out. In this league he spends more time upsetting the ref than playing a simple pass. I have yet to see him play a good game in this league. Also there is noway Gash is near enough ready to come back.

Defence was superb, up front I thought Southwell ran his socks off, and Power in the first half was always dangerous,  McAuley had a great game, (even the local reporter liked him) , home draw please, even though we cant go.  Don't want to travel all day in a lockdown.

General Discussion / Re: Port Vale - FA Cup
« on: November 06, 2020, 08:48:57 AM »
Lets play our strongest team. If we weaken it in any way and we get stuffed it not good for the moral of the team. Its games like this when this lock down really hurts, I'm one of the old school, went to Everton with my Dad, lost 4-0,  went to Southend, lost 9-0, Bristol Rovers, lost 2-1, Rotherham, lost 6-0,  but what great days. We would have taken hundreds to Port Vale.    Come on Lynn, cheer us all up!

Thanks, Fenlander, and Admin, you beat me to it with the cup tie broadcasts. We are not worthy!

Before you go and pay , it may be worthwhile to see what the BBC are doing. They are showing live FCUM/Doncaster, plus they are streaming live 12 other ties on their red button service, at the time of this post, they have yet to decide which of these games will be televised.

IC has a good problem for a change, all our strikers seem to know were the goal is.
Before Tuesday night, I thought Southwell was very unlucky not to play , he has looked sharp and has a terrific work rate, but Mitchell done the job in very good fashion, Loza against Woking looked sharp, and we all know what Marriot can do. With regards to the rest of the team, Carey looks a great prospect, Clunen had his best game for a while, I would like to see room made for Sam Kelly, he has a good eye for the gaps to make a pass. He must start Saturday against his old team. Just sort the the errors at the back, and all's well with the world.

Kenny its to do with the signal beamed from there receiver at the ground, it was poor, if you go back to last Tuesday,  at Maidenhead it kept buffering, but if you listened to the Radio Norfolk broadcast it was at times 3 seconds ahead. The BBC have better equipment. Not saying this is the answer, but more than likely.

Mallard, BT3 doing a National League programme on Wednesday afternoon, this could be the highlights from Tuesday night. BT Sport has said sorry for not showing any highlights from Solihull. They had technical issues with Solihull.  Thank god!
