Has joined Leiston on a month's loan.   New body in, or a spot of book balancing ?

Great chance for us to be just a point behind York IF we can win this one.   Got to fancy us in this one.  Letís hope itís a decent turn out.

Was reading a Norwich City history book ( EDP Pink Un etc articles). Seems in 1971 Kings Lynn lost to Lockheed, who were to become Leamington.( apparently).

General Discussion / Nantwich FA Cup
« on: October 15, 2019, 08:22:47 PM »
Big day Saturday.  Lynn have a few injury issues so we wonít be at full strength.  On the other hand Nantwich suffered a home defeat on Saturday against lowly Ratcliffe.

Will we have a new loan signing in for Saturday or go with what we have ?

Iím going for a 2-2 and a replay at The Walks

I hear there was a big issue with this yesterday.  Shame things like this canít be arranged through the Friends.  To save these kind of issues occurring.

I see the club has received a massive grant ( in excess of 70k) for ground improvement at The Walks . Also that the B&G Trust had pledged 4K towards this effort as well.  I was on the understanding that this 4K had been handed over weeks ago and not just a pledge. Why the delay ?

Fantastic news and all credit to the bodies who  did the leg work to obtain this grant, which I assume was the steering committee formed this year.

Does this mean the upshot is the massive uplift in gate receipts can be spent on squad strengthening  ?

General Discussion / New signing in at Lunchtime today

Has to be a striker? Gash back up ?  Any thoughts.  I guess with one in ( and if itís a striker) then the lad Stewart could be farmed out again.

Will the Club be announcing that this now will not be happening this year and the reasons why ?  I thought this was a bright new tomorrow for the Club.  It does seem we are making a habit of these false dawns.

General Discussion / Gloucester at Home

Ok what we going for result, score and gate wise.   The visitors have shipped plenty on the road so far this season, and with Gash n Marriott bang in form Iím gonna plump for a 4-1 home win and if the Lynn Media department is on song in excess of 1400 there.

General Discussion / Expectations
« on: September 04, 2019, 10:40:42 AM »
What a fantastic start to the season we have enjoyed.  No one could have seen that coming. How has this incredible start affected the fans expectation level ?  Are we going to be happy now to just be able to stay at this level or has everything gone up a level and now feel we should be aiming for a play-off place ?

Just listened to IC and sure he is of course playing it down.  Feet firmly on the ground etc.  However he also said after Saturday Ďtheyí will all sit down and see where we go from here.  Could we read into this that the squad might need a bit of help and maybe one or two could be coming in ?

The Chairman has to be totally thrilled with the backing the fans have given the team with an average of over 1100  now.  Can only see this growing.  Plus with the publicity this start has generated it could be the local business community might want to get involved.

We also have the FA Cup coming which a decent run will come with gate revenue and decent prize money.

All very positive vibes for the future.  Will be interesting to see if the Chairman wants to stick or twist in the next few weeks.

What do the rest of you think ?

General Discussion / Alfreton Tuesday night
« on: September 01, 2019, 10:40:20 AM »
Massive game coming up Tuesday.   Think the team, Manager and The Chairman need to see the fans out in force.   With the Football being played we need to lap it all up.  Teams like we have at the moment donít come along to often.

General Discussion / TV Documentryís

Loads of these being produced now, some good some not so.

Sunderland till I die was excellent as was the one on Man City. Class of 92 as well. Just finished one on Leeds of last season called Take is Home.  There was another new one out last week 90 mins based on 5 National
League Managers at the business of end of last season.   One of the Clubs was Harrogate Town with
ex Linnet Simon Weaver.

All these got me thinking.  Wouldnít be surprised if BT or Netflix would look a little further down the food chain and where better an upwardly mobile Club with a great Manager and charismatic Chairman
With a little bit of a dodgy past.

Any suggestions ? :countingmoney:

General Discussion / Chairman
« on: August 11, 2019, 08:57:20 AM »
With the opening two home gates each in excess of 1100 the Chairman has been fully vindicated in his pricing structure for this season.    Have to say Nr Cleeve is now getting a lot of things spot on at the Club.

Just reading through his programme notes for those opening two games.

1.  Fully installed ( but flexible) segregation will be in place in 6 months.

2.  The full cost of all the upgrades needed at the ground is going to cost circa 100k

3.  The big news he promised has been delayed ( by the other party not Mr Cleeve) but he should announce it in 3 weeks.  With even more big news to follow at the end of September.
4. The subject of ĎVolunteersí  was raised by Mr Cleeve.  He would like those that can afford it to buy a season ticket, but it is up to the individuals own conscience.  The programme Editor and hospitality lady, Sue Wilson has bought 2 VIP Tickets ( all credit to her.  Great support for the Club)

5.  A fans forum will be organised if the fans feel there is a need.

Mr Cleeve certainly now seems to embracing the fans at the club.  All credit to the man.

General Discussion / Sack Race
« on: August 08, 2019, 10:03:30 AM »
First casualties of the new season In The NLN.  Bradford Park Avenue have sacked their Manager after 2 games ( both 5-0 defeats.  One being at home to Guiseley).

On the subject of Guiseley they are the only team with a 100% record after just 2 games.  Could be a tight League.

General Discussion / Opening Day Defeat
« on: August 03, 2019, 08:23:08 PM »
Not the start we were all hoping for, but itís one away game. Nothing more nothing less.  Big opportunity to get the season up and running on Tuesday at Home to Kettering.

Letís see the fans turn out, forget today and claim the 3 points.  We havenít become a poor team overnight.
