General Discussion / Farsley Celtic away
« on: September 01, 2023, 10:23:12 AM »
After Saturdayís victory can we make it two on the spin ?  Farsley have made a decent start, so would take a point.

Same line-up as Monday or is Clifford suspended ?   Anyone know what the injury issue is with Adam Crowther ?

General Discussion / Olly Scott

Looks like Olly Scott needs to get his car in the garage and get his stat Nav looked at.  After leaving with the Clubs best wishes to return to his native Durham it appears he has now signed for ... guess who?

Aldershot Town FC.   He is even in their  team photo.  You couldnít make it up.

Widdler.... the gift that keeps on giving.

General Discussion / Hereford away

I wonder what line up and formation Tommy will go with on Saturday.   This 5 at the back heís stumbled on seems to be misfiring somewhat.  Really didnít see the point against Fylde when they stopped us playing out.

Letís hope Tommy has a rethink and uses the next 7 games to come up with a cunning plan for the play-off.  He seemed to stick with it throughout the whole game on Tuesday,  not risking throwing another striker on to try and force the game.  Just went like for like on his changes.    Bizarre

General Discussion / And so to the Big One. Fylde away.
« on: February 23, 2023, 04:03:07 PM »
For me Iíd take a point here and now if offered.   I do wonder how Tommy will set up for this one.  Whichever way heís damned if does and damned if doesnít with the wrong result.   Come away with a point of more than the guy is dubbed a genius.

Iíd like to see what system and personnel our good friend the Dillmiester would go with on a game like this ?

3-3-4 maybe ?

General Discussion / How does Tommy put it right ?
« on: February 20, 2023, 02:57:25 PM »
What can Tommy do to get things back on track?   Maybe change the system but would that be like trying to put square pegs in round holes.   One thing many feel should be happening is Tommyís boy being Ďrestedí. Difficult with nepotism though.

I wonder how much longer Hargreaves is going to be missing, as for me he was the key for us earlier in the season.

General Discussion / AFC Telford at home
« on: February 14, 2023, 09:18:00 AM »
Has to be a home win no ifs no buts.  Spanked them 4-0 away so if we get an early goal could be anything.

The Triplets
Coulson (if fit, otherwise KM)

I wonder if that line up is attack minded enough for the Dilster?

General Discussion / Chester Home
« on: February 09, 2023, 05:12:00 PM »
Another big game Saturday against another ex League Club who are up there battling for a play off spot.

No Clunan and Barrett so can see Hughes and Cosgrave starting in their places. Couple of spots to fill on the bench.   With Ponticelli and Cosgrave can see us defending more from the front.

With our very impressive home record these stats make interesting reading ....

Lynn played 12 at home,Fylde  14.    Away Lynn played 15, Fylde 12.

General Discussion / Buxton away

Tough away trip but certainly winnable.   Be interesting to see who is and who isnít available for this one with the recent injury issues.  So hopefully these are starting to clear up now.

Be good to see Hargreaves back involved in some capacity sometime soon as always feel we are a more rounded team with him.

Think we will take this one 1-3.

Just listened to the interview with Hugo.  Sounds very much like Hargreaves, Stephenís, Scott and of course Gold wonít be involved Saturday.

I guess the new lad Jones will replace Scott on the left hand side

General Discussion / Joe Taylor

Luton Town are in advanced talks to sign highly-rated Peterborough striker Joe Taylor, sources have told Football Insider.

Luton have been seeking striking reinforcements after losing Cameron Jerome earlier this month.

Stephen has put up a new podcast.   Some interesting thoughts, facts etc.

He deals with the monies made from the Stevenage game £100k plus.  Well done all.  How heís not happy with what he sees as how the new streaming deal will
Play out.   Covers the Chelsea buy out.  Other bits and pieces.

The main part of the Podcast is with the Altrincham Co Chair who does a great Norman Collier impression all the way through.  Maybe need to check the quality Mr Chairman.
