General Discussion / Curzon Ashton away Saturday
« on: September 21, 2022, 06:07:23 PM »
This looks another winnable game to keep Tommy and the boys unbeaten run going.

Tommy saying he has selection problems but nice problems to have.

What system will he go with ?    McFadden or Denton at the back.  If McFadden then Denton or Scott on the left ?
Midfield does he bring back Clunan after illness or stick with Barrett ?  Up top who does he pair with Gold ?

All in all a nice few problems to address for Tommy.

Iíd take a 1-1 draw on the road to keep the run going.

General Discussion / Live Streaming
« on: September 18, 2022, 09:05:50 AM »
Live streaming is coming to the National League for the 2nd half of this season.  Seems like it will be all Saturday games in the National League.  North and South will be phased in.   All 72 Clubs will benefit for funds coming from the one pot of money with the breakdown spilt to be decided.

Thoughts anyone ?

General Discussion / Bedford at home FA Cup (Setchís return)
« on: September 15, 2022, 08:24:45 AM »
Must be some interesting thoughts from people on this one.

Just listened to Setchís thoughts on the game.

1.  Happy cos itís only 10 mins from his home to the ground.
2.  Free hit for Bedford.
3.  Need to keep the crowd quiet early doors, as if Lynn get one early the crowd will be well up for it and could be a tough afternoon.
4.  If Bedford can stay in the game Lynn fans will turn on the team which will help Bedford.
5. Expecting a few comments, songs etc mentioning pies.
6.  Four figure gate.
7.  Very complimentary about the quality of the Lynn team and Manager

Get the feeling he is well up for it.

General Discussion / Alfreton Tuesday night
« on: September 12, 2022, 12:50:28 PM »
Love a Tuesday nighter under lights.   Alfreton are always a tough nut to crack but somehow we seem to manage it.

Going for 2-1 win with 940 there.

General Discussion / Buxton at home
« on: September 08, 2022, 06:39:20 AM »
Another very winnable one this.   Plus expect the crowd numbers to keep building.

I do wonder what effect Last Saturdayís 2nd half will have on the players, and indeed TW.  Will he look to change things from a defensive point of view.  Shipping 3 goals must have made him sit up and think at least.

Iím going for a 3-1 win in front of 1050 fans.  With maybe a couple of changes to the line up.

Hopefully we will be hearing Tommyís through later today as not anything from him for 10 days

General Discussion / Chester away
« on: September 01, 2022, 02:07:47 PM »
Yet another big test on the Road Saturday.

Will TW go with the team that started on Monday or the team that started the 2nd half.?

Then again can Tommy afford to not start with Barrett.  Nice problems to have.  Factor in maybe Scott back available and McFadden inching his way back into the squad.

Iíd take a draw.  So going with 1-1

General Discussion / AFC Telford away
« on: August 18, 2022, 08:07:28 AM »
Games come thick and fast.  Back on the Road Saturday.   Will TW go with the side that started Tuesday night or bring in Barrett and hope to get 60 mins out of him.  I guess it will depend on if he fancies going with a flat back 4, away from home.

Can see us sneaking this 2-1 to keep the 100% record intact.  Hopefully we are injury free.

General Discussion / Brackley at Home Tuesday night.
« on: August 14, 2022, 10:36:23 AM »
Big big test this one.  Brackley have been up and around the play offs for the last few years.   Mixed start to the season with a home win over new boys Scarborough on the opening day but a 2-0 defeat on the road at Chester on Saturday.

Will both teams make a few changes after the strength sapping games on Saturday ?

I fancy a 2-1 home win with 1190 in attendance.

General Discussion / Blyth Spartans at home
« on: August 11, 2022, 09:17:49 AM »
After a good three points on the road last Saturday we have got to fancy our chances of turning Blyth over on Saturday.

Opening day home defeat for them followed by the Manager getting sacked must see them arrive after a long journey somewhat deflated.

If Tommy has his boys well up for it can see a few goals to welcome in the new season at the Walks.

Iím going for 4-0 win in front of 1150 fans.

General Discussion / Itís Back. BPA v Kings Lynn
« on: August 01, 2022, 08:43:40 AM »
Our first game on a new adventure.

Any thoughts on starting 11?  Would we be happy with a point or should we be looking for all 3 against one of lesser fancied teams ?

General Discussion / Lowestoft
« on: July 25, 2022, 03:33:39 PM »
Just seen Lowestoft are visiting The Walks on Saturday for a Friendly.  1pm Kick off

General Discussion / MK Dons
« on: July 16, 2022, 08:04:56 AM »
Not seen much of a build up to this latest Friendly, which is quite surprising.  Decent League One side.   I notice they have just signed Will Grigg ( will he be on fire?  :stir: :laughcry:).  Those who watched the Sunderland Till I Die (series 2) documentary will remember him.  Joined the Black Cats for a lot of Money on deadline day.   Also just joining is the x Norwich midfielder Bradley Johnson.

Incidentally they played Norwich U23 this week at Colney and smashed them 6-0.   Could be a tough test for The Linnets today.

General Discussion / Fixtures out today
« on: July 06, 2022, 05:50:44 AM »
Once the fixtures are out always feel itís the start of the countdown to the new season.

Anyone know what squad played in the friendly last night and who the scorers were ?

General Discussion / Is tonight the night ?
« on: April 26, 2022, 03:01:15 PM »
With Aldershot away at an out of form Bromley a win for The Shots would see us fall through the relegation trapdoor.

Will there be live updates on here tonight (admin) ?
