First friendly, with the Reserves away at Thetford.

Is there any news on players with the Reserves ?  New signings, players that have departed etc.  Or is it very much as you were from last season ?

General Discussion / Pre-Season

Nice piece on EDP website with pics of the players returning for pre-season.  Looked a decent turnout from the pics on there.  A few new faces there.

IC saying he is still looking to bring 2 more in.  One a defender and the other to be determined.

General Discussion / Saturday and beyond
« on: May 08, 2019, 02:16:12 PM »
Well what a season this has been.  Phew!!!
Started out with a new man at the helm, a few new players, the loss of a few favourites.  Pretty soon it became clear that all was not well and we had the wrong person in as first team manager.    Who will forget that low at home to Histon in the F A Cup.

All credit to Stephen Cleeve he soon realised his error and reacted PDQ and sacked Clark. Passed the baton on to Club Stalwarts Back and Fryatt who not only steadied the ship but went out and signed Marriott and Henderson ( 2 massive signings as it turned out). This was quickly followed by the real icing on the cake in the return of Ian Culverhouse. Master stroke by SC to tempt him back.

Now here we are just one step ( albeit a big un) away from National League Football. After last Saturdays game, are we good enough to go to Warrington and get the win? Too bloody right we are!!!

Whatever happens Saturday itís been a successful season, one I think the fans have enjoyed.  Sadly as with most teams and most seasons, some players will move on. Which players are a must keep for next season?  Rumour's so far suggest at least 3 departures including one high profile player.

General Discussion / Who do we fancy

Alvechurch,  letís hope there are no late frostís to upset them or Stratford where it will be a case of to be or not to be, that is the question.

Stratford for me. They seem to have run into poor form  to end thier campaign.

General Discussion / Change of Company Name
« on: April 01, 2019, 04:48:04 PM »
I notice today that the Company names running the club has changed.  The new name is Blue and Gold Holdings Ltd.

Any suggestions for the name change ?  Maybe SC could gives his thoughts in his next programme notes

Is the lad still with us ?  If he is will he get a chance to re-stake a claim to the right back shirt with Arron Jones sending off ?

What do others think ?

General Discussion / Redditch at home
« on: February 12, 2019, 12:00:34 PM »
With 8 of the remaining games we have being against bottom half sides there is no reason why Saturday shouldnít be the start of a decent run in to grab one of the play-off places.  Should be enough to keep the season alive for the fans and the players.

I wonder if Ian Culverhouse has already got eye on next season.  Letís hope itís a much calmer
Summer than last year.  IC staying in place, fingers crossed as there is no telling who The Chairman would give the job to after last summer.

General Discussion / Parr for the Course
« on: January 08, 2019, 06:08:46 PM »
St Neots defender Taylor Parr has turned down the chance to join us to stay for a relegation fight.

No suggestions as to why.

General Discussion / Commercial Department
« on: January 06, 2019, 04:32:39 PM »
I was informed on Friday that the Club was still seeking a match day sponsor for the next day. Not sure if one was found and they got their name in the programme, but has to be disappointing not to have something in place 24 hours before kick-off.

I thought the Club had sorted this area.  Who is actually running this side of the business ?
