General Discussion / Next Seasons start date (Premier League)
« on: July 24, 2020, 03:15:22 PM »
The 2020-21 Premier League season will start on 12 September and finish on 23 May.

The current campaign will end on Sunday after it was suspended for three months because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Premier League said it would "continue to consult" with the Football Association and English Football League (EFL) "regarding the scheduling of all domestic competitions".

With the seemingly positive news coming out of the EFL meeting.   Do we dare look ahead to next season ( whenever it may start).?

Season Tickets and general admission costs will be one of the first things to be sorted.
What are peopleís thoughts on this.  How would the following sound ?

General Ground ( standing) £18
Seating  right and left hand side £21
Seating  mid stand     £25.

Then how about a £1 surcharge per ticket sold to go to the War Chest.

Tin helmet is on, but  for Step 1 Football I think the prices are about right. ( based on 2019/2020 prices)

Thoughts ?

Great full page interview with new signing Alex Brown...

Also it seems all Clubs in the National League are going to be canvassed on how to end the current campaign, and asked to vote on it.

Perhaps Mark could explain what this all could actually mean for us ?

With the Arsenal Manager confirmed to have  CV and the Premier League calling an emergency meeting for today, I canít see much football being played going forward.    I do wonder if Saturday will be the last game of the season at The Walks.

Sometimes There are much bigger things than a game of football.

After a great week ( 4 points on the Road), itís a long awaited return to The Walks on Tuesday night.  Canít see us slipping up Here and expect to see us return to the top of the table ( how good does that sound) and with 3 games in hand.

Can see IC having a bit of a tinker again to rest up certain players.  Maybe Jarv, Gash, Hendo.

Be interesting to see if the CV has any affect on the gate for Tuesday. Also there is a Premier League/EFL meeting on Monday to see what they will do with regard to supporters coming to games.  I guess the Non League game will follow their lead.

Fingers crossed we get some Football back at the Walls on Tuesday, but not at any cost.

This looks a tough one.  Hopefully Lynn will do an overnighter to give them every chance of getting something here ?

York travel to Alfreton and following two poor home results.    Could be interesting

Two tough away games coming up this week.   Squad should be well rested and nearly upped to full numbers ( not sure where Clunan and Fryatt are at).

Would take 3 points from the 2 games.  York also at home tomorrow night to Hereford.

Great piece on the Club with Stephen Cleeve giving his thoughts on how far we have come, Ian Culverhouse,  Full/part time IF we gain promotion.   Ground upgrades  done, and still to be done.  All kinds of stuff.

Well worth a read(page 7)

Also there is an almost full page on Wroxhamís 2-0 win over Stowmarket in the FA Vase, with a crowd of over 1,000.   Wroxham go into Mondayís Quarter Final draw.

Wroxham have been draw at Home to Bitton (whenever that is).  Game to be played at the end of the month.

Bad day at the office without a doubt.  We were poor from the first minute.  Never strung anything together.  At half time IC could have permed any 3 from about 8 to take off.  We looked lethargic, almost disinterested.

Having said all of that the season these players have given us then we can accept one off day.  York winning has made it all that much closer at the top.  Next Saturday we need our good friends and rivals to do us a big favour.

We have a job to do against Kidderminster next weekend.
