With 8 of the remaining games we have being against bottom half sides there is no reason why Saturday shouldnít be the start of a decent run in to grab one of the play-off places.  Should be enough to keep the season alive for the fans and the players.

I wonder if Ian Culverhouse has already got eye on next season.  Letís hope itís a much calmer
Summer than last year.  IC staying in place, fingers crossed as there is no telling who The Chairman would give the job to after last summer.

St Neots defender Taylor Parr has turned down the chance to join us to stay for a relegation fight.

No suggestions as to why.

I was informed on Friday that the Club was still seeking a match day sponsor for the next day. Not sure if one was found and they got their name in the programme, but has to be disappointing not to have something in place 24 hours before kick-off.

I thought the Club had sorted this area.  Who is actually running this side of the business ?

I awake to another fine day in Gotham City ( well
It ainít rainning).  Itís holiday time and what better way to spend it than watching the Linnets at The Walks.   Yesterday it was the Turkey, today itís the turn of Lowestoft to take the stuffing ( ok Iíll settle for 1-0).  We owe them big time after that disaster of a performance at Crown Meadow ( it whatever it is called).

Big gate, everyone in the festive mood. I can see it being a cracker. A real late present for the fans. For the Trawlerboys, well sadly I think their Goose is cooked.

Rumour has it that Auntie Doris will be attending and will be up
In the stand showing off her new hat.

8 hours and counting

Have to fancy a comfy home win in this one.  5-0 ( I know but what the hell) Gash the Bash hat trick, he is the man bang on form.

With the surge up the table capturing the public imagination going for a gate of 702

IF, we win at home to bottom of the table Bedworth ( haven't won a League game all season, stuffed 4-1 at home last night)  Then we go to the heady heights of 3rd in the League.

What a massive turn around in just a few short weeks.   In Football anything, it seems, is possible.

Edit.... Just noticed Leiston play tonight and if they win then I think the highest we can go would be 4th.

I wonder what sort of team we will put out for this one. UEA will be young hungry lads so not to be taken lightly.  Unless of course they have all finished for Christmas by now and gone home for the festive season.

Where is being played ?

General Discussion / The Crazy World of The Premier League
« on: November 18, 2018, 07:19:49 AM »
Richard Scudamore the outgoing CEO of the PremierLeague is to given a goodbye handshake of £5m.  This despite having been paid in excess of £2.5m per annum ( with bonus) plus all the perks that go with such a job.

With grassroots Football struggling and needing serious investment have The Premier League competely lost the plot.
What a joke !!!

I hope the man Scudamore has at least the good grace to donate this golden handshake to charity.

Great to have Ian Culverhouse Back and what a welcome 3 points on the Road.  It seems like his return has given everyone a massive uplift.  Listening to the Chairman yesterday it seems he really went out of his way to get Culverhouse back, phone calls, 3/4 hour meetings.  Big of him to admit to his mistakes and confirm he is now older and wiser.  Also good to hear he is going to support Ian in every way possible. Promotion it seems is very much the order of the day and it would be a disaster if this team didnít gain promotion this season.  Sorry Stephen if they donít get there then a big part of that lies at your door.  Poor appointment in the summer.

For Culverhouse the rest of the season is almost like a free hit.  If we get anywhere close to the play offs, but end up just outside then the early season results will be the reason.

The squad looks thin but with the Chairmanís support Iím sure Culverhouse will be adding to the numbers and maybe even letting one or 2 move on.

The Ryan Fryatt head injury looked a nasty one with a fair amount of claret around. Anyone know how serious it is?

Tough one away but really need to get 3 points from this one to our League hopes up and running again.  Will there be any last minute additions ( loans) brought to strengthen a severely depleted squad?  We really are looking down to the bare bones.

General Discussion / Reserves at Leiston Res
« on: October 07, 2018, 04:13:37 PM »
I see the youngsters took a pasting (10-3) at the weekend.  Is it just a coincidence that Leiston first Team didnít have a game ?   If so hardly in the spirit of the game.  If they didnít put out a strengthen team whst on earth went wrong ?  Chris Henderson, at least got some minutes under his belt before joining the first team squad next weekend.

Results like this ( strong Leiston team or otherwise) just emphasis the massive gulf between step 6 and Step 3.

With both these players seemingly out of favour with thier new clubs.  If we had the chanc of grabbing just one of the 2 Back which would you go with ?  Baring in mind what has been signed to replace them both.

General Discussion / More Questions than Answers
« on: September 12, 2018, 08:30:29 AM »
What a win last night....  But has that now given the Chairman a massive problem ?

We have gone with  full time ( expensive) manager's in Culverhouse and Clark.   Fryatt and Back wouldn't look to be full time ( would they ?)  so could this be the way forward ?  Two local guys who are Lynn through and through.  Both been involved with the Club from an early age.   Both know the local scene inside out and know every local player ( probably in the County).  Both also have a working relationship with the Chairman

Ronnie Moore is talked about as the next on the conveyor belt, but the guy lives in Rotherham and wont be moving.  So as Mr Cleeve has pointed out there are logistical problems there.  So if it not Ronnie, are we going to throw everything up in the air again and Hope we get a Culverhoue and not a Clark ?  Big Big Gamble.

Some will say that Fryatt and Back lack experience at this level.  That fact cant be argued but what better way than learning on the job.  Plus if they have the full backing of the players ( it appeared so last night) why not give them ago ?  Would the local fanbase better relate to 2 local guys ?  I really think maybe they would.

The 2 boys in charge last night certainly gave Stephen Cleeve plenty to think about .

Ok, what are others thinking.?
