General Discussion / Brackley at Home Tuesday night.
« on: August 14, 2022, 10:36:23 AM »
Big big test this one.  Brackley have been up and around the play offs for the last few years.   Mixed start to the season with a home win over new boys Scarborough on the opening day but a 2-0 defeat on the road at Chester on Saturday.

Will both teams make a few changes after the strength sapping games on Saturday ?

I fancy a 2-1 home win with 1190 in attendance.

General Discussion / Blyth Spartans at home
« on: August 11, 2022, 09:17:49 AM »
After a good three points on the road last Saturday we have got to fancy our chances of turning Blyth over on Saturday.

Opening day home defeat for them followed by the Manager getting sacked must see them arrive after a long journey somewhat deflated.

If Tommy has his boys well up for it can see a few goals to welcome in the new season at the Walks.

I’m going for 4-0 win in front of 1150 fans.

Our first game on a new adventure.

Any thoughts on starting 11?  Would we be happy with a point or should we be looking for all 3 against one of lesser fancied teams ?

Not seen much of a build up to this latest Friendly, which is quite surprising.  Decent League One side.   I notice they have just signed Will Grigg ( will he be on fire?  :stir: :laughcry:).  Those who watched the Sunderland Till I Die (series 2) documentary will remember him.  Joined the Black Cats for a lot of Money on deadline day.   Also just joining is the x Norwich midfielder Bradley Johnson.

Incidentally they played Norwich U23 this week at Colney and smashed them 6-0.   Could be a tough test for The Linnets today.

General Discussion / Fixtures out today
« on: July 06, 2022, 05:50:44 AM »
Once the fixtures are out always feel it’s the start of the countdown to the new season.

Anyone know what squad played in the friendly last night and who the scorers were ?

General Discussion / Is tonight the night ?
« on: April 26, 2022, 03:01:15 PM »
With Aldershot away at an out of form Bromley a win for The Shots would see us fall through the relegation trapdoor.

Will there be live updates on here tonight (admin) ?

General Discussion / Grimsby at Home Easter Monday
« on: April 16, 2022, 09:26:16 AM »
Let’s hope for a decent performance and the biggest gate of the season.   The big adventure is almost over now.  Next season it’s back too the hard graft of the National League North.  Local Derbys with Boston and Kettering and trips up to Blyth and Darlo to name just two.

I wonder what plans are in place for next season and will we see a massive clear out ?

General Discussion / Wrexham Tuesday night
« on: February 27, 2022, 06:15:08 PM »
Ok it’s all over now for the Club ( in truth has been for weeks).  So despite going back down to step 2, let’s hope Tommy can get some pride back into the team and we at least put up a fight on Tuesday night.

Will he throw some of those who have not been in the squad back in or go with the same players who didn’t perform on Saturday? Be interesting to see if his Boy starts.

After Saturday’s moral boasting win can we hope to get something from Tuesday or just look upon it as a free hit with the home games this month as the bankers ?

Changes or go again with the same 11!

Have we still to appoint a local guy to take over from Mark Hearle ?   Also how is the guy who had Man City connections doing in terms of the blue sky thinking and looking at the bigger picture by bringing in corporate Sponsorship deals etc ?

All gone very quiet on both fronts

With Ian having parted company with the club who would you like to see taking the helm?

I’m going to throw the name Darren Eadie into the mix.  Currently in charge at Leiston.

General Discussion / A bit of fun ( hopefully)

With the Clubs tannoy system broken and being replaced.  Maybe time for a reset on the Music we run out to.   Especially with the way things seem to be on and off the field.

Come on you budding Peter Kay’s. Let’s see what you can come up with :laughcry:
