General Discussion / More Questions than Answers
« on: September 12, 2018, 08:30:29 AM »
What a win last night....  But has that now given the Chairman a massive problem ?

We have gone with  full time ( expensive) manager's in Culverhouse and Clark.   Fryatt and Back wouldn't look to be full time ( would they ?)  so could this be the way forward ?  Two local guys who are Lynn through and through.  Both been involved with the Club from an early age.   Both know the local scene inside out and know every local player ( probably in the County).  Both also have a working relationship with the Chairman

Ronnie Moore is talked about as the next on the conveyor belt, but the guy lives in Rotherham and wont be moving.  So as Mr Cleeve has pointed out there are logistical problems there.  So if it not Ronnie, are we going to throw everything up in the air again and Hope we get a Culverhoue and not a Clark ?  Big Big Gamble.

Some will say that Fryatt and Back lack experience at this level.  That fact cant be argued but what better way than learning on the job.  Plus if they have the full backing of the players ( it appeared so last night) why not give them ago ?  Would the local fanbase better relate to 2 local guys ?  I really think maybe they would.

The 2 boys in charge last night certainly gave Stephen Cleeve plenty to think about .

Ok, what are others thinking.?

Lets not forget the little matter of Histon away Tomorrow night.

With Clark gone The New management team in for the night we can expect some 'bounce' as always happen when there is change.

Wish Neil and Backie all the best. Both have the knowledge and experience to get us over the line in this one.   Neil had 2 seasons at Step 5 ( Histon's level) Under Setch so will have gained much from that.  Backie has managed at Step 6 and as General manager has a working knowledge of the players at his disposal.   Will be interesting to see how much more 'effort' and commitment Neil and Robbie get from the players.

3-1 win for me

After the cock up the owner made in losing Culverhouse and the totally disastrous appointment of Clark many are looking at Cleeve and expecting him to get this next appointment right.  The club and its fans should not have to suffer from his lack of/poor judgement.

Over to you Stephen Cleeve. Time for you to get it right. No excuses. This time the buck has to stop st your door.

Its finally here the first game of a brand new season.  All the huff and puff of the Pre-season out of the way now we get down to the real stuff.  Where are we team wise ?  How many fans will show up on the opening day, waiting to be impressed.... What will the score be ?

Great Pictures on Twitter of the new Squad.  Looks an in depth Squad of 20

I'm going for 820  and a 4-1 Victory.  Lets start positive.

After finishing a very creditable  6th this season.. Anyone know whether next season they will be playing in Thurlow Nunn League Div One North or South ?   I know from Norfolk both Harleston and Mulbarton are moving up to the Thurlow Nunn from the Anglian Com.  Has anyone seen the provisional make up of each League ?

General Discussion / Time to Look in The Mirror Mr Cleeve
« on: May 08, 2018, 07:50:22 AM »
I think the guy deserves plenty of praise for the what he has put in place at Lynn.  However hopefully he will take time to reflex on where he got it badly wrong.   The bigget mistake he made was his treatment of Ian Culverhouse.  I firmly believe this guy would have been with us for a good few years, if Mr Cleeve had played it with a straight bat.   I am sure we have all heard the 'stories' of what went wrong between the 2 of them.  Is there really any point in going over them again ?   I think not.  I just hope the guy can learn from his mistakes and make sure they are not repeated when they new guy comes in.

I also hope he has the good sense to bring other people into the Club to help 'share the load' of running the Club.  We are playing such a dangerous game, as a Club, just having one person in charge of  everything.  For example if the guy was taken ill, or many other situations that could well arise, where would that leave us ?

It is going to be a very interesting summer.

General Discussion / WHO would you like to see ?
« on: April 17, 2018, 09:39:13 AM »
If as being reported that Ian Culverhouse is gone come the end of the season.  Any thoughts on who you would like to see coming in ?

How about Ray Hall....

Reasons..... 1.  Premier League Experience

                   2.  Brings Youth Through

                   3.  Head of Clubs Development

                   4.  Knows the area

                    5.  Works well with the Chairman

General Discussion / How many Points
« on: April 17, 2018, 08:01:03 AM »
With 2 games left ( one away one at home)  How many points will we need to be guaranteed a home game in the semi play-off ?    Cant see it matter if we finish 4th or 5th in the League, as judging by the pitch at Slough I  could well imagine IC would fancy his team on that billiard table as opposed to The Walks ploughed field.

Looking at the other 3 teams in the play-offs I don't see any of them as more easy pickings than the others. So little point in shuffling around trying to 'manufacture' any results to get the team you fancy.  Though I have to admit I would fancy us away to Slough, just because of the standard of the pitch that would suit our game.

Who do others fancy ?
