General Discussion / Match Day
« on: March 27, 2018, 08:25:31 AM »
Is the match actually on tonight ?  Not seen to much PR going on.  ( why am I not surprised).... Oh well England playing Italy on the TV, I would have thought double effort's would have been made to get body's through the gate.

None so blind as those who will not see, as the saying goes.

General Discussion / and so to Saturday
« on: March 22, 2018, 01:39:04 PM »
Interesting fixtures coming up.

Us at Redditch.....

Hereford,  top,  at home to Bottom Gosport..... as good as points in the bag this one.

Kettering have a tough looking one at Home to Frome.... who only went down to a 1-0 defeat at Hereford on Tuesday.

Weymouth have on paper the toughest game of the weekend games at 6th placed Chesham.

Slough also wont find it an easy trip to  Basingstoke...

Can see points being dropped amongst the top boys, lets hope we aint one of them dropping the points.

General Discussion / Farnborough home

We certainly owe them one for earlier in the season, and I full expect to see suitable revenge taken on Saturday.  After 2 great wins this is no time to slip up with all the other main contenders not involved in '6 pointers'  we need to keep the screw fully turned and hope one or two of the those around us slip up.

After gate of 750 on Tuesday would be good to see a gate of around that level but it might slip back a little.   Certainly the Players and indeed the Chairman need every bit of support they can muster.

3-0 ......689

General Discussion / Robbie Back
« on: February 27, 2018, 07:39:31 AM »
I don't know if some of you are unaware but Robbie has been absent from the club for some little while now. He has been suffering from a severe bout of Shingles.  After some improvement Robbie has suffered a relapse with this illness and has asked me to let the good folks on here know the situation.  He has told me that as soon as he is well enough he will be updating the website and apologies for the lack of activity on there but hopes people will understand the reasons.

I am sure all of you will join me in wishing Robbie a full recovery and look forward to seeing him back in harness soon.

General Discussion / Stephen Cleeve Twitter
« on: February 07, 2018, 08:55:04 AM »
Some of you may wonder why Greg Plummer retweets the home club's tweets when we play away from home - that's because he never goes away so all the reports are what he reads elsewhere - lazy journalism

This is the latest tweet from our erstwhile Owner/Chairman.  He really is something else !!!

He has the audacity to criticise Plummer yet he has people lworking for him who are stuck in first gear where press releases etc are concerned.  For example can anyone tell me what is the problem with Cameron King, Tom Ward, Leon Mettam ?  How long will they be out for  etc etc

Surely Mr Chairman one has to get ones own house in order first before throwing out crass remarks about others who have been at the Club a long time before your arrival and a will be there a long time after you are gone and forgotten.

On last nights team sheet I thought for one moment the Chairman was going to be wearing the no2 shirt...As the name written wasn't Norman   :salute:

Then again maybe he just had a bad a few days on The FTSE.  ( I know I have)

General Discussion / Paul Lambert
« on: January 15, 2018, 01:29:19 PM »
I see Paul Lambert has just been appointed manager of Premier League Stoke City.  With Ian Culverhouse having worked with Lambert at Colchester, Norwich,  Aston Villa.   Would it surprise anyone to see IC move on ?

General Discussion / Would you bet against it ?
« on: January 14, 2018, 09:26:30 AM »
Hereford go to Gosport Tuesday a win there will see them go top.  Would any one bet against them staying there till the end of the season?  Think we are playing for 2nd and a home draw in the play-offs.   Would settle for that at the start of the season and would settle for it now.

General Discussion / Almost a year
« on: January 08, 2018, 10:54:56 AM »
It is nearly the year round since Setch was shown the door and replaced by Culverhouse.   Looks a good move for both Managers.  IC is riding on the crest of a wave, top of the League, while Setch has dropped down a couple of levels and found success again at step 5 with Wisbech chasing hard for promotion.

So what have been the differences people have seen since the change ?

General Discussion / Rumour has it....
« on: December 08, 2017, 02:07:52 PM »
That a leading club in our League have a situation where the Chairman and the Manager do not commicate with each other.

Anyone heard this self same rumour ?

General Discussion / St Neots away
« on: December 03, 2017, 01:53:29 PM »
Interesting game on Tuesday. Saints on a good run at the moment.  No Clunan for Lynn and assume  no Blake-Tracey yet.   Any thoughts on line-up.

We got destroyed there last season so fancy us to turn the tables this time and come away with all 3 Points 3-1

General Discussion / Lynn News
« on: November 24, 2017, 09:01:03 AM »
Has the Club had a falling out with the local rag ?   Looking at today's edition I do wonder.

Kings Lynn Town FC are top of the Southern Prem  playing decent football winning away again last Saturday, yet what pinches the back page ?   .... You guessed it.  Speedway. A Sport that is in its off season and doesn't even start again until  Easter ! Yet we  are  still  a month away from Christmas. Unbelievable.

I can understand the EDP not being bothered with us now that Holtgate  is all done and dusted but I cant for the life of me get why a local Paper cannot offer more support than it does.  Surely the Club must be feeding information and titbits through to them all the time, so why is it not making the back pages ?

The Club is moving forward on the pitch but the back up to this is falling way short.  Surely Stephen Cleeve cannot be happy with this ?   The PR needs  upping, I am sure with more press coverage the gates would be somewhat higher. All of which is lost revenue.

I don't know who is responsible as the Press liaison  officer but whoever it is needs to up their game.   Or Maybe even a fresh approach is needed.
