General Discussion / Re: Home attendances
« on: September 24, 2024, 11:58:01 AM »
It’s all well and good to say we need a striker in.  We sure do but we need a striker in who is going to hit the ground running.  Then again nearly every team and all levels need one of those.

A.  You need to find one

B. The Club he is with will need to let him come (transfer fee ?).

C.  Goalscorer cost the most so have we got the budget to bring one in ?

Not a straight forward process.

Good points there Wisher.    However when we are told we have the best Manager in this League, backing from Asia, an owner who wants Football League, then the expectation  For many maybe we be huge.

Let’s not forget we also have one of the highest admission charge in the NLN should be not expect/demand to be entertained ?

Looking at the attendance table posted by admin, then if we continue the trend we have at the moment then this season could be the 3rd highest average in the last 40 years.  So that says to me the fans are doing their bit.

Good point on the road that one.    We are sitting 9th.  Think most would have taken that at the start of the season with a new team being moulded together.

Maybe the owner has had to sell another Landrover

We coped well at home v Warrington without Margetts. Plus as a team we must be much more bedded in than we were on the opening day.

Take a point on the road today.  Need to be competitive in every game and no repeats of Alfreton

Seems to be a feel good factor around the Club with gates well up on last season and SC keeping a low profile.   Are the two connected ?

Now it’s down to AL to keep that feel good factor with  the playing side.   No one is expecting the team to win every game but certainly be competitive and no slip up against lower level opposition.

Bit of confusion here.   Issacson is at AFC Sudbury.   Wack is talking about Josh Stokes who has gone on loan to Cambridge Utd from Bristol City.

A win is a win.  When is the draw for the next round ?

Think we have a few locally based players in the likes of Paul Jones and Kyle McFadden to name two.  It’s great to have locally based players but only if they are good enough.  Then again do the local boys get as well looked after as lads from away ?

Brings into question what the real goal is in terms of an academy.   Also just another one of our Chairman’s ideals that for whatever reason don’t actually work.  Or in a lot of cases never get off the Ground.

Summer Concert’s anyone ?  Or perhaps a tie up in Gibraltar that’s going to put Kings Lynn on the map ?  There are soooooo many others that never got beyond the infamous table.  Not forgetting the big idea of January that was going to fill the gap in terms of funding.

That’s very sad.  Thought he was going to be the first one to take the clear path away thats the Chairman’s vision to first team regular.

General Discussion / Re: Our manager.

Don’t think any fan could dislike Adam Lakeland.  Comes across as a likeable guy.  As for relegation it would have been a given had the Club stuck with Mark Hughes.  Let’s just remember who employed him and thought we could survive at Step 2 on a very much reduced budget.  Valuable lesson there for the Chairman.

AL has put together his own squad this time and has been given all the advantages that Joe’s money will provide.   Being given the title of the best Manager in this League, raised the bar amongst the fan base.  So to see back to back home defeats doesn’t really fit that narrative.  Especially when one was against local side Sports.

One of the key points for me, is the increase in the numbers coming through the gate.  That says the fans are buying into Lakeland.  Now he has to deliver to keep the faithful onside.

I would hope the squad of 20 are all step 2 players and could come in and do a job.   I don’t see how squad players can be kept match sharp without getting game time either at Lynn, or out on loan.
