General Discussion / Re: Saturday home to Telford

Think this seems to be the most exciting start to the season the Club has enjoyed in years.

Have to feel a certain amount of sympathy for Stephen Cleeve ( yes I'm surprised I'm saying it).  The guy gave it his best shot for  a good few years but never really got the fans in side. Now just a few short months of handing the reins over  to Jo/Bal  the Club seems to have been transformed and a massive goodwill factor installed.

Have been speaking to several people today who are going to the game tomorrow, some of which haven't set foot in the Walks for years.

I wonder if SC's EDP column has been handed over to a new owner?  I guess with a new broom in at Carrow Road, then Kings Lynn won't get much coverage  well at least in the short term.

Roll on tomorrow, have the. Club made it public how many tickets for tomorrow have been sold?
Just hope Telford don't turn up with any thoughts on spoiling the party. 🥳 😂

I would hope Bal will want to make a huge statement on the opening day.  With everything off and indeed in the pitch looking very different.

I'm going with 1400 and a 4-1 win.  Crowd behind the team Telford may well find themselves having to deal with a very tough afternoon.

No disrespect to Telford but this looks a massive  opportunity for Rowe to put down a marker as I'm sure tougher days lie ahead

Maybe with over double the amount sold people want to avoid the queues and pick up before the opening day so they can get straight into the ground to claim their free pint of Watney's Red  barrel. Malc?  😂🍺

I had a listen to the Managers post match interview.  Super confident guy ahead of next Saturday.  Explained what and who he was happy with.   Not about results in pre/
-season, though a lot of Managers set the  friendlies with a 'gimme' at the end as boast going into the season.

Let's not forget Spalding are no mugs and I guess must be favourites for promotion themselves.  Plus they have a Manager who knows his onions. Not long back he was being tipped as a Kings Lynn Manager.

First game of the season is getting proper exciting.

I guess at the moment there will be issues with so many departures  and arrivals.  Trouble is it's starts for real in 7 short days.  Important to get off to a decent start in terms of keeping the fanbase onboard.  I'm expecting a decent gate for Saturday.  New regime that plenty will give a chance.

Would like to hear some thoughts on the game today.  Surely can't have been as poor as the result suggests.

Not an ideal result to go into next Saturday with.

General Discussion / Re: Where’s Kyle

Players reach a certain time in life where they have to plan for the future.  Football careers don't last forever.

As I understand it Kyle has family commitments that will mean he can no longer continue as Full time professional player.   He is certainly more than capable of playing at this level in full time employment. Dropping down a level or two shows he is leaving for Non Football reasons.

Let's wish him well. 100% is what you got from McFadden.

The Club or the holding company ?  I guess all will be made clear when the deal eventually goes through

Guess there might be a couple more ?  Good to keep players busy and loans help with the wage bill.

That's good.  Money rolling into the coffers.  New stadium sponsors, stand sponsors. Short sponsors, front, back, arm and shorts.

I saw when the new ground sponsor was announced they also had their name on the back of the shirts.  Was this just for a photo opportunity?

If he still has the lease on The Walks maybe he is very much in demand ?  I sure he won't be slow to use anything he can to keep his nose in the door.

If only that table could talk.  All those deals and ideas Cleeve had to put the Town on the map.  Gibraltar, Music Concerts on The Walks, featuring AC/DC.  Live streaming of games was going to make the Club a fortune with all those overseas viewers tuning in.

There was so many. What a character.  He really should write a book.

I wonder if Lakey will still allow him to pen a column  for the Norwich Rag? Could be on the more ranging aspects of the game.  Or really has the World suffered enough.
