That’s somewhat blinkered B&G.   Surely if you have decent talent coming through you want to reap the benefit not see players leaving to join other clubs who can help their development by playing senior men’s football.

The likes of Norwich ( and many pro clubs) send academy players out on loan to gain. Experience of playing in competitive games rather that the less physical type of game they become accustomed to in age group Football.

Beardsmore you seem to be speaking as someone very close to the Youth set up so surely you would have been consulted and asked for your opinion ?

Which is ......, scrap it or go with it ?

Nothing in the Thurlow Nunn League website about this.

Stephen Cleeve has been a big advocate of having a successful Youth set up at the club with a clear path to the first team.   So cannot believe the rug would be pulled on having a team in the ECL, step 6 Football

Chesterfield had every chance in the game v Notts Co yesterday and blew it.   Bromley gave it a good go v Hartlepool today after being 3-0 down in 20 mins.

Have to say I fancy Gary Johnson to get Torquay back in the EFL.

Barnet, Wrexham and Solihull looking for new Managers.

This talk of budget.  How do we know ( nor should/will we) what Budget IC is being given to work with.

In the Kitty we have the loan money, 25k gift from sponsorship of the stand, New improvement amounts coming from shirt sponsorship, the money from NL, monies coming in from running the academy.   This is all without the money that will be generated by Mark Hearle from commercial enterprise.   Then to top it up fingers crossed that the gate receipts will be bringing in 50k per home game.

Throw in a cup run or two plus SC sticking in his normal amount.  We could well be cooking on gas in terms of budget.

Maybe even a couple who have played together and come as a pair.  One  youngster and one with experience.   Bit of tight criteria that to find.   Oh hang on ...

With McAuley gone, would you look to bring in a young hungry one or someone who has been through the mill and knows the difference between a Liebfraumilch and a can of tizer?

I would think with FOTL being the official supporters body they will be champing at the bit with ideas for fund raising in support of the Club.   They have had plenty of ‘downtime’ to formulate a plan of action, going forward.

I would suspect they have a few big ideas on the table.

Fans ( and righty so) always get excited by stellar striker signing.  For me having someone who will save you 20 goals a season is just as important.

Posh are playing no friendlies at home as they need urgent work on the pitch so that surely has to be one.
