Can anyone shed any light on Adam’s comment ‘likes to play underneath the ball’ ? Is that a new term for Hoofball ?

I guess not everyone reads this forum so it will still be fresh to them when announced on the Clubs Twitter feed.

This is an interesting debate Paul/B&G. I would suggest you both contacts within the Hallowed Walls of The Walks. I’m sure when you are both asked to keep a confidence then you would have the grace to honour that, as indeed so would I. It’s not unusual to be told something that certain people from within the Club want leaked. For example I have seen nothing about the Kobe Chong playing Sunday football story, or maybe I missed it ?
As for the new signing AL has drip fed little clues out over the last few games. It keeps the interest for the fans and wets the appetite for the signing. I would consider it good marketing on AL’s part, on behalf of the Club. I would hazard a guess that all 3 of us know the identity of the new signing but each have kept that confidence. 289

Had a little hint from someone within the inner sanctum at the Club that it’s a midfielder coming not from Fleetwood but from another EFL… Stockport Co

Nothing better ( in Football terms) than a home game on the opening day of the season.
Hopefully there will be a 1000 plus crowd in as AL has brought in a new feel good factor to the playing side. He is spoilt for choice with options for a starting 11, though Margetts will be a big miss. Think we have the depth to cover this though. A new midfield player should be in today so gives AL even more choice. Wonder if it’s a loaner from Fleetwood, the Manager seems to have a good connection there. I’m thinking we are going to send out a huge message to the League on Saturday and hand a 3-0 beating. Though I’d take a scrappy 1-0. What are others thinking ? 292

4-0 win going into the new season is a great confidence boost. Saturday the real stuff starts with Warrington calling

Just shows AL is not perfect and he does get it wrong sometimes.

Must say it does feel more engaging to just hear about the Football side from AL and not hear of SC’s latest scheme ( there’s been a lot ). Maybe people in and around the Club have had a word with him to take more of a backseat on SM and concentrate on getting on with things behind the scenes.
The last couple of Podcasts haven’t really offered that much and have been poor, content wise. So maybe he’s knocked that idea on the head as well. The test will be if he can either do the same with his paper Column or just keep it very focussed. 297

Maybe the message is getting through. SC seems to have kept a low profile throughout the summer. Allowing AL to step up to the plate as the face of the Club. Seems like people are buying into his straight forward non BS talking.
Can SC allow himself to stay in the background ? I guess Saturday week’s EDP will tell all 299

Understand and agree with sone of what you are saying. I guess you are not really a high priority on the Clubs target list….. However.
What would SC and the Club in general need to do to entice you back to the Walks, so you would attend when you felt fit and able ? 300

Think there is a buzz building about the team for this season. AL has gone about his business in a quiet unassuming way. Plus he has said things off the pitch have also moved up a level. Would like to see the media team really ramp on the PR in the next week or so. Be good to see an opening day crowd of in excess of a 1000.
