General Discussion / Re: End of Season Awards

It seemed to be arranged at 36 hours notice.  Considering the voting was open for a Month, might have made a difference if it had been better organised.  Was The Chairman there to hand out his award, Or was he in Leicester ?   On that Subject who advised him to give the award to Clunan,   as I didn't think he bothered attending that many games theses days ?

Listening to radio Norfolk this morning.  Scoresforfun John Sands was on there.  He was saying the 6 from 10 games he scored this season could have quite easily been 10 plus.   He sees no reason with that strike rate why he cannot win the Golden Boot next season.   Sounded very much like he was on board for the new term.

At Long last we have a Number 9 who can score goals.    One piece of the Jigsaw, seemingly in place.

Think Setch can have a relaxing summer compared to last season with only a minor bit of tinkering to be done.  Can we read anything unit neither Hurst and Smith not being included in the squad yesterday. Wouldn't be a surprise to see Hurst leave but though Smith did a job.

Excellent choice for the first 3 inductions. What will be the criteria going forward ? Will it be 3 or was Micky Wright a one off and each season it will now be just the 2 ?

Could be a good time for Rob Hughes to return.  :laughcry:

Now that would show real  ambition to get him on board.  Image the goals that would come with a front 2 of Sands and Mettram with Stevo  in just behind.  Got to be 50 goals plus.

Well surely if it was gonna be announced on Saturday the Club would be singing it from the roof tops and making a huge thing of it.   If the likes of Mick Wright and Malc Lindsay are gonna be honoured as the first the ones to be inducted then people should have been hearing about it by now..

Backie.... ???  Over to you.

Spot On Tazzy, it would appear it is all coming together at long last.  Still Rome wasn't built in a day, though I don't think Backie was on that job  :comeon:

The Conveyor belt will be really rolling next season.   Keep raising those Shekels Tazzy.  You have  an important role to play.

All looks very promising for the Future...  Will the U16 play their home games at The Walks as well ?    If there is enough players interested will there be just one team, or will the club look to roll out maybe a 2nd team to play at this age group ?   I Know with the likes of Fakenham  Swaffham and other local clubs already running sides at this age group ( and for many years)  it all seems very positive for the area.   Will The best lads from all around the area be enticed to join Lynn ( playing higher grade opposition)  or will it be just lads from Kings Lynn ?

Midfield Player who would do that role for us would be the lad who is/was at St Neots. Mitchell-King.  Interesting that Setch says he wants another Gulliver type.  Does that mean one of Gaughran, Miller or Castellan could be on their way ?  Bunting did an excellent job at Step 5 and was ok at Step 4, but didn't cut it at Step3, and stepped back down to step 5 with Rushden when he left us.

How about if the Club was to take over the car park on Match days and then charge people a couple of quid to park there ?  Might generate a bit of cash especially when we have a big game in Town.

I'm sure Setch is well aware on where we need to improve for next season. The good thing he has had a full season to bed in his new squad in readiness for next season. The summer should be about fine tuning what he already has. I'm sure he has started the process and has been busy making a few phone calls.

As Tazzy has reminded us most days, Exciting Times ahead

Looks Like it might not all be  about Young Local talent next season.

I really feel you need a different make up of team for the NPL to the SPL.   What Setch seems to have done

is got the Club to step 3 then been forced to rip up the blueprint for moving on and instead set out a whole new ideal of the way forward.  Now this may have been governed to a certain extend by finances.  I think Setch, by his own admission was finding it hard to get in the type of player he needed with the money he had to offer.  As is the way of football these days players tend to go to the highest bidder.  This season he has laid down the foundations for the future and this current crop ( with of course the usual in's and out's) will see us progress.  9th/10th ( half way ish) this season will see Setch expecting that to turn into top 5 next season.. The only stumbling block could be if he cant add that little bit extra he may need that is not available to him from the local area.

The Worry I would have is the local community not buying into this new idea ( well its not new, its been tried before) and are not prepared to pay a tenner to see a bunch of local lads playing at The Walks.  Now that to me makes no sense.  However the fact that gates are tumbling cannot be ignored.  Now if that trend continues what can Setch do, even getting local players players on the cheap must be a struggle on the gates we have seen in the last few weeks.
