General Discussion / Re: v Chorley

Was looking at recent goals for.  Last 10 games we have notched just 7 times.  3 of those 7 came v  a Farsley side who were relegated and playing an a basic academy team.

Listening to Lakeland's interview of last night I thought he was being somewhat harsh to call the players he  inherited as 'crap'

Jones, Ronan, McFadden, Coulson, Crowther, Hargreaves, Ponticelli, Stephens, Hughes, Barrett.
Interestingly Josh Barrett scored 16 goals for Aldershot this season in the National League.  Shame Lakeland couldn't get a tune out of him.  How close would we have got to Brackley with his goal scoring?

He mentioned Margetts and Gold but failed to shed any light on the other striker HE signed.  Williams.  Why on earth did he waste valuable budget on a player he obviously didn't fancy ?

Adam Lakeland says he wants assurances that all is well behind the scenes at King's Lynn Town before he can commit himself to the club.

This comment was from the Norwich paper.   Did Lakeland actually say ?   I must have missed that or did he say it off screen ?

Very interesting post match interview with AL, setting out what is needed going forward.  Both on and off the pitch.

Also emotional interview with Josh Coulson.  He got quite choked up   All credit to the guy.  Heart on the sleeve time. Total respect to him.

Big improvement on last season in terms of League position.  Mind that was down to Cleeve's poor Managerial appointment then was to be rescued by Lakeland.

Think it is going to be an interesting few weeks.

More importantly if Cleeve doesn't do a deal with Jo/Bal/ Trust or the other so called interested parties, will the Club be here ?

Job done.  Play offs here we go.  Disappointing way to end the regular League but sadly this team always has that kinda result in them.  It happens every few weeks or so.   Our defence does ride its luck at times and with no real 20 goals plus striker in our ranks it's always going to be a struggle once we go behind.

Feel disappointed for SC as a 5th place finish would have given us a home draw and a real gate to boast the coffers.

Why was Gold missing today ?

Not been a great day for Lynn Managers, past and present.  Lakeland stuffed at home. Widdler humped 4-0 on the Road and Cully done 5-2 at Truro.  Setch  got a win to save the day.

On the subject of Truro they clinched promotion to the National League.  900 mile round trip to Gateshead is one nice day or two out.

We have become a team who is very hard to score against. On the flip side we don't score many goals. So for me it's got a 1-0  result written all over it.  Unless Chester turn up with one eye firmly fixed on Wed.  Win lose or draw tomorrow doesn't change anything for them.  However I'm sure they will want their strongest 11 out on Wednesday where nothing but a victory will do.

Brilliant result.  Now for Chester to come on Saturday.  Bumper gate and I think I'm right in that Chester have nothing to play for as they are going to finish 4th, win, lose or draw against  us.  So maybe they won't be quite 'at it' come Saturday with one eye on their play off game.

If we can cement 5th we get a home game which should attract a fair ole crowd.  Could this go a long way to filling SC's 50k shortfall ?  After all he can't have factored any play off games into his thinking.

SC is willing to offer the Trust a 7% stake in the Club in exchange for 95k of your hard earned.  What does that value the Club at ? Around 1.35 mil.  The amount of value SC has added to Club deserves a huge pat on the back.

SC is still having negotiations with Jo and Bal but it's not just them who are keen to get their hands on it.  Seemingly it's very sort after.

In Jaws they needed a bigger boat.  At KLTFC seemingly they need a bigger table. :shark:

Did you hear that from a Trust Board Member Mallard? If not I wouldn't believe a word of it.

Surely you are not suggesting it's Porkies, Rosie ?   How very dare you 🫢

I understand the 450k Sport Council loan has now risen to 486k ( interest at 2% added).  The money M r Cleeve borrowed and we still ended up getting relegated.   Good business call that one SC.  What has happened to the £1 on every admission to the ground that he was going 'ringfence' to pay this off?   Like we need to even ask.

Reading the programme notes it now seems the owner has various options on the table  to take the  Club forward.    Honestly you just couldn't make it up.

Only arrived home at 3pm but managed to watch most of the game.  What a result !!!! All in our own hands now to finish 6th.   Should be a real bumper gate for Chester.
