General Discussion / Re: January to March Finance
« on: December 28, 2020, 07:30:54 PM »
If there is fire break put into the season letís hope that a lot of clubs have put that into players contract.   Iím sure with the shrewd business head that SC has then he would be way ahead on this one,

When the 30m bailout came Clubs were warned not to spoil it by splashing cash around on transfers, contract etc.

Woking/Loza  last week springs to mind.   Clubs just canít help themselves.

11m over three months is a massive decrease in hand outs for each Club.   For the Oct-Dec period it was 10m per month.   In Lynnís case that equated to 84k per month which didnít even meet the 100k plus running costs, per month.

How are Lynn  expected to survive on circa 35k per month plus whatever they can self fund.   That is around 70k per month shortfall.

Plus if this money comes in the form a loan how can this be repaid ?

Suggestions ?

It was dire KES.   It must have cost Woking about 10% per touch of the extra 40 plus % they are paying Loza.

Are you here all week ?  :laughcry:

Good crackers in your house this Christmas.  Was that the problem at Lynn, did they just give him an Orange ?

Who cares how much he is getting, heís no longer at the club.

Time to move on and talk about the players who are still here and want to be here.

Yes who cares how much heís on.  Who can blame him for taking that kind of pay rise, and boot money.    Maybe in a few weeks if another club come in a offer a few quid more he will be on his bike again.

Have to agree with SC itís the way it was done that leaves a sour taste.  Shame the boy didnít have the conkers to just say he was off as another club had come in for him.

Not one of ICís better signings, as it turned out.

Yesterday Woking got stuffed 3-0 and Loza was pulled off.  Maybe Woking have over valued him.

Correct.  He didnít get a 40% pay rise.  It was 42%, according to our Chairman.  Plus a signing in fee.

Iíve always been a fan of that MO Tony.   10 board members each with their own responsibilities.  Safe in the knowledge that all bases are being covered. Re-election every 3 years ( staggered).  The club certainly has the off field sorted, even at step 3.  Could be suggested more so than we do at step 1.  Certainly their Ladies team are playing at a very high standard, for a place the size of Lewes.  Sounds very much like square pegs in square holes there.

On the flip side Stuart also said he felt  that fan owned clubs would never work beyond Division 2 of the Football League.  Then again I think thatís the extent of Kings Lynn ambitions anyway.

Certainly worth a listen for any football fan.  Stuart certainly spoke well and was a credit to his club.   They seem to really have a community feel about the Club.

Have to say also all credit to SC was one of the more interesting podcasts of late.   Must be some common theme why that is.

The thing I found very interesting was that they have the same playing budget for their Ladies team as they do their senior menís team, both of which have a budget of 2.5k per week.   SC seemed genuinely shocked at how little they were spending on players.

The other topic that SC brought up a few times was the relationship that Stuart Fuller had with his first team Manager, and seemed very impressed with the closeness of the relationship.   Hmmmmmmm

Free streaming. Why ?

With Club having to return 700 plus x £25 the club will need to maximise the earning potential from streaming

Sadly B&G looks like your prediction was bang on the money.  Mind it had to happen.

Must be a question On if a circuit breaker is needed in the new Year in Footballing terms.

Who would have thought it a few short years back that we would be playing a League game against a club like This ?

Ok odds  are against us but after holding top of the League Torquay to a goalless draw and then going away on a miserable Tuesday to record a comfortable Trophy win.   Plus the added advantage of having a 1400 crowd behind us, then we might just cause a little upset here.

Team v Torquay or Team v Alfreton. Or maybe a bit of both ?
