Talking about town sive,  Forest Green have done well.
Forest Green have done exceptionally well, but they do have an energy mogul at the helm

This is true, and I believe he is a Norfolk boy. IF ONLY. :banghead;

General Discussion / Re: I want to buy the club
« on: January 09, 2022, 09:32:03 AM »
I saw in the local rag interview the chairman moaning about lack of income from low crowds. He was instrumental in getting rid of a great team of last two years and making us fulltime players of failed ex academy boys. He has now employed a manager who has never managed a football team before, he's just an ex pro who has worked on admin, he's just talks the talk.

I'll pay the going rate buy the club and run as a fans co-operative. When the club went bust in 2009, I thought we would get a fans/community run club, myself and a few other local people approached the council, but out of nowhere SL came on the scene. I can see this club going to the wall before the end of this season.

We need Gash, Marriot and Culverhouse back asap.

Thatís all history now, I am in no way the no1 supporter of our chairman, but he has made some errors and some he has tried rectifying, to no avail in my eyes, the damage has been done. Whatever way we swing in support or not supporting the chairman, in no way should this be held against our new manager and his coaching team, timeís change and we really need to back the new team and see where they can take us on our limited  budget.

Have sacked Craig Elliott.

Rumours on Boston forum that Culverhouse and Bastock are taking over the hot seats.

 :farmer: :oldman" Now that would really be a surprise. :oldman" :farmer:

Tony, it was never a post about who traveled to Chesterfield, as you say we would generally have taken more, it was a post basically about people in general falling out of love with KLTFC. We as supporters have been through some really good times of recent, but where are we going too end up now we are seemingly pressing the self destruct button, many, many people have chosen not to attend matches for various reasons, they are probably still supporters, but not paying supporters. We need only look at St. Neots and Histon to name just 2 local teams who we seem to be following. They are now playing at there real level, after the boom generally comes the bust, unless you can get the paying customers through the turnstiles, which we seem unable to do.

Probably no comments because there is nothing to moan about in the performance.

I totally get that bit BLUEBOY, nothing to moan about because performances are better. However flip the coin, look at it from the other side, as we say performances are better, results still need improvement but nobody on this board seems able to pass on praise where praise is deserved.

 :farmer: :oldman" :scarf: Well, I have been watching the forum and the day after , what I consider to be one of our biggest games in many a year, we have absolutely  zero comments on this forum board. New Yearís Day fixture, not too far away in comparison to some of our other fixtures, very healthy 6.5 k + crowd, league leaders, very impressive new stadium, ex league club, I could go on , but does this show that the people of Kingís Lynn, have indeed fallen out of love with KLTFC . I feel in the past we would have seen a lot more activity on the board, but as I write this not 1 solitary post, now the reasons for this is not for me to speculate, I do have my opinions and I am sure many have similar views,but there we will leave it.
 As for yesterday, yes we lost, but losing 1-0 away to the league leaders in front of a very partisan crowd, I believe to be a very good effort from our patched up team, so congratulations to Tommy and the boys, we are seeing a vast improvement in performance at the moment, unfortunately we are still losing too many matches, but the seed of change is visible for all to see. Whether we can persuade people to attend matches again, I have my doubts at this moment, we can and indeed should attract 15/1800 for home matches,but I feel too much damage has been done for a quick return to crowdís of this size. :scarf: :oldman" :farmer:

I said previously that if IC went the attendance would drop to the regular 600+, but obviously there are factors at the moment of Covid and Christmas.
That aside positive performance, i guess some of the players have had a kick up the behind from the manager and ÖÖÖÖ their agents!
For me its all the 2ís
2 days in charge, it may take 2 weeks or 2 months to change things to how TW/SC want it but all we need isÖÖÖ.
2 places and its NL next year and rebuild AGAIN in the summer.
I have to agree with Griss, people support the football club not the manager, itís like saying Manchester Unitedís support dropped to around 40000 when Sir Alex left as manager, it didnít happen.

 :farmer: :oldman" I personally feel we need a manager with experience in the National league,who has a note book full of contacts at National league level and above, not below, we could possibly survive with a few players from lower levels, but we as a club seem to be recruiting all from lower leagues or injury prone players from our level or slightly higher. The problem as I see it is, no money, no players really up to the level, no money coming in through the turnstiles to fund better players, no real income from advertising, so realistically what experienced manager would really want too take that on . Only time will tell. :oldman" :farmer:

Biggest change of style we need is to go from not scoring goals to scoring a shed load of goals! Don't care about style get it in the old onion bag,an ugly win is better than losing pretty! :banghead; :banghead;

Surely has to be good news for the Football Club, going forward.

 :farmer: :oldman" Why is it good news for KLTFC, I thought it was a community pitch, for the people of the borough  :oldman" :farmer:

 :farmer: :oldman" We can quote this system or that system, but ultimately if you donít concede you donít lose, and if you score more than the opposing team and you win. EASY  :oldman" :farmer:

 :farmer: :oldman" Probably best for both Backie and the club. Family and health must come first, however I do wonder if Robbie has the contact list that the club needs at this time. Many thanks to him for all he has done for KLTFC, but possibly the correct time for a break away from football. :farmer: :oldman"
