General Discussion / Re: More bail out money

:oldman" This is not free money, even if it was for football, this money will have to be repaid in the future, maybe not by the sporting teams it's allocated to but the taxpayers will have to repay this money somewhere along the line.  :farmer:

On tuesday evening I was pleasantly surprised that the back 5, with ample support from the midfield 4, defended well. Although I had predicted that the Backs and Midfield needed to combine to layer the defensive formation.

What news Danny Lupano  :dontknow: Is he going to stay alongside McFadden and Rory McAuley  :dontknow:

Where will this leave Chris Smith who has had several good performances recently  :dontknow:

Against Dover I feel that the same starting Line-Up should remain with McFadden watching for the 1st Half then introduced with 30mins to go.

:farmer: Put the lad on the bench and see what happens on the day, if we are winning comfortably, well, maybe introduce him and see how he combines with the rest of the squad. We have not seen this lad play as yet, yes some have seen a few clips but not a full match, his time will come if he proves good enough, but to just say put him on the park for the sake of it is not really fair on the rest of the squad . :oldman"

General Discussion / Re: FA Cup 2nd Round draw
« on: November 09, 2020, 05:29:12 PM »
Right mixture of teams in 2nd round. Always a dilemma now at this stage if you could pick a side. One that's a lesser side on paper, and potential to really get into 3rd round and draw one of the heavyweights. Or take whoever, and if it's a League 1 side away, another chance to cause an upset.

P'Boro away for me ideal. Pompey home/away for the bigger side. Chorley/Marine/Canvey at home for the lesser tie.

:cup2: :cup2: I have to say, with no crowds allowed, the tie is worth the same amount of money whether we draw a smaller team or indeed a so called bigger team. Bearing this in mind I would choose to hopefully draw a so called smaller team, hopefully allowing us a better chance of progressing and earning another payday in the next round, however nothing is given in this competition, you still have to turn up and beat what is out in front of you. COYL.  :cup2: :cup2:

DR65, 'proven' goalscorers at step 1 won't come cheap so not sure where the money would come from?

K80, of that list I didn't understand retaining Hawkins (2 starts this season at step 2 should tell its own story) and assume we offered Southwell a multi year deal which looked like desperation at the time and even more so now that we will be playing in step 1 next year - Halifax let him go for a reason.  I admit I was proved wrong with Henderson as I didn't think we could fit him into the starting 11 at step 2 but he and the other lads in midfield generally stepped up to allow him to continue to do what he did so well at step 3, whether that can apply in step 1, I have my doubts but happy to be proved wrong again.

Given that the model under IC has been quality over quantity, if Marriott does sign I think that may be it in terms of attacking options (I think IC thinks of Kelly as an attacker as much as a midfielder).  Still think right back and central midfield are more pressing areas.
Agreed strikers not cheap, however lots of opportunities to pick up players who have been league players and have not had their contract renewed, also if  or indeed when Marriot leaves the money he is paid will be spare. I believe players will be looking to sign contracts with clubs as they aswell as us realise the big money in the lower leagues is not there anymore.  Players realise they still need to earn as many will have young children but a contract on lower wages is better than no contract.

Maybe Tony, IC is looking To add another strong his bow In terms of formations etc.  Could be a less raw version of Simon Power?

We have signed a left sided defender, a wide player and a keeper.  Subject to no offers for Marriott from a League Club ( maybe just the wrong time in Football and the wrong age). What do people think we need.

I feel we definitely need a proven goal scorer at this level. If Marriott stays or goes I feel we are light on attackers, last season when Gash or Marriott were injured we struggled up top and it will be a lot harder next season to score those goals, competition for places is vital.

:scarf: Jamar Loza has been signed by KLTFC, the old Norwich connection reemerging, welcome on board. Does this mean Adam Marriott has gone? Not the most prolific striker but been around our new level for a few seasons now.

A good signing. Not exactly a like for like for Marriott, but a good player.

It seems to have gone very quiet on the Marriott front at the moment, hopefully he stays and proves himself again at a higher level for KLTFC, but it is quite obvious we are his back up plan, however as Mr Cleeve stated a while ago, not all teams will play to his strengths and if he does leave he may well be a bit part player.

Pedro is the last man standing.    Itís comes with the higher we go.

Pedro has always been one of the best (if not the best) Keepers at whatever level Lynn have been playing at in recent seasons. He has been a massive part of the Clubs success and I believe still has a lot to offer at the higher level we are now  at.

Having to compete for his place next season is something I'm sure he will understand and expect as we progress through the league's.

:comeon: :comeon: My opinion on this one is exactly the same as yours. We really do need to have competition in all positions on the pitch, not saying we need 2 players per position, just people who can cover other positions, obviously a goalkeeper was needed as we really have to have a back up on the bench this season, whoever it maybe. :comeon: :comeon:

Interesting that,  B and G......I had wondered whether York might be involved. Lynn just need to get themselves sorted I reckon and not be too concerned what A M decides on.
I have a feeling that York won't get thro the playoffs.....by that time Lynn will probably have already sourced a striker and AM will not be required.

Mason Bloomfield sounds interesting.....will google

:farmer: :oldman" As I have stated on a previous thread, if Adam Marriott does not commit to KLTFC in the near future, I feel we should part ways, yes I would like him to stay, however,we can and should not wait much longer. If he feels his future lies elsewhere let him go, he is not bigger than this football club and I feel sure IAN AND BAZZA AND ROBBIE can find us another striker, many being released next week.  :oldman"  :farmer:

Short interview with Adam Marriott in todayís NLP.    Waiting to see what offers come in.  In a nutshell.

:oldman" :farmer: :scarf: So by that Mal, we are his fall back plan, as much as I,and I am sure most would want him to stay, my opinion is if we are not now deemed good enough to commit too, on your bike. After the situation all football clubs have been through in the last few weeks, we can not and should not break the bank for one player. As mentioned in many previous posts there will be many, many players dropping out of the professional game come June, so I am sure Mr. Culverhouse and co can provide us with another striker.  :farmer: :oldman" :scarf:

:scarf: I really have been humbled, for our club with the amount of good wishes we have had. Over many years our football club in what ever guise it has been, has had many bad headlines, but all these good wishes and congratulations, just proves we as a club are not hated by all. Hopefully we will have many a good day out next season,as and when it is safe to proceed. :scarf:

I have to say from a fairness point of view I would like to see York City promoted, but from a selfish point ov view, would it not be great to see Boston United join us in the next league up. Two big local derbies to be had there.   :oldman" :farmer:
