General Discussion / Re: Ian Culverhouse

:banghead; let's look at a positive in amongst all this will he ,won't he be here next season, which I sincerely hope he is but probably believe he won't.
Just remember when SETCH was packed off up the road who expected a manager of the calibre we have now, what's saying if he goes Mr. Cleeve has not got another up his sleeve. Only time will tell, but I hope he stays.

I still think there will be twists and turns before the seasons up, defeating Kettering would of course put us in the driving seat for second spot, but there will be lower ranked teams fighting for points against higher ranked sides, therefore I can not see the top 5 avoiding defeat in all matches. Let's just hope it is the LINNETS who amass more points than others.

:farmer: All 5 top teams won today, and all did there goal difference a big favour today, Lynn only added 1 to the plus column, however 3 points were very important today at a tough place to go and come away with a win. still many points to play for onwards and upwards, COME ON YOU LINNETS.The most exciting end to a season is there for the taking.

And it was absolutely freezing. Not surprised one bit.

Attendances were down accross the leagues. Weymouth, who are having a season almost as successful as ours, and have an average attendance similar to ours, only had 481. Merthyr average 480 and had just shy of 320. Freezing winds unsurprisingly means about 2/5th’s of people stayed at home.
:farmer: I have to whole heartedly agree with this post, the most sensible answer to yesterday's attendance I have seen written, we are a well supported non league club but weather, Norwich at home and numerous football and rugby matches on the TV all counted against us, as it did against other teams yesterday (not including Norwich) .

:oldman" After today's win at Hereford we gain 2 goals over Hereford and 1 over both Weymouth and Slough, these may prove vital at the end of the season. :farmer:

Fair play to you boys, you have well and truly illustrated the tactical shortcomings of our ‘Fat Controller’! His inability to cope with big games is an embarrassment. Good luck for the rest of the season...

:farmer: Think you are being a little harsh there BULLY, you have been beaten twice this season by a very good Lynn team, but all said and done you have had very good cup runs and top your league, as a die hard LINNET of nearly 50 years,I would swap your season with ours. I am not saying we have had a bad season, far from it, the best for many years, but the facts are there for all to see and Hereford deserves its success as you have amassed more points than any other team , playing attacking football along the way. :oldman"

General Discussion / Re: Leon Mettam
« on: February 28, 2018, 07:36:17 PM »
:banghead; :red card: After his red card last weekend at TIVVY he has now received a 3 match ban, will this be the last we see of him in a Lynn shirt, what are people's thoughts on this?. I personally feel that Leon Mettam has not delivered anywhere near the performances and goals we were led to believe he would when he was signed. I would be more than happy for him to play out the remainder of his contract with our reserve team.

Will the weather allow the game to go ahead on Saturday?  :dontknow:

We will have to wait until Saturday morning for the answer to that question, what with present weather and forecast weather I would hazard a guess at a postponement , but wait and see. :farmer:

:banghead; why do we not try offloading Mettam to spalding and get Tom Siddons back. Tom was and will  again score goals , look at the difference in goals scored since he was replaced by Mettam. I know Mettam is on contract and well paid ,but he is not helping our promotion push at this moment in time, in fact I feel he is hindering it.

:farmer: we lost 1 nil today but we actually gain 1 goal in goal difference over Kettering and Weymouth, Slough won again so can catch and overtake us , Hereford are on a roll and truthfully I believe are champions elect already. Not all bad today and as stated earlier in this thread, there will be many twists and turns before the playoffs are decided.

We did overhaul an 18 point lead held by Coalville?

We sure did, however this is a much higher quality league, I still feel we will be in the top 3 however I still think Hereford will be champions, not giving up hope as yet though, keep the faith, see where we are at the end of April . COYL.

We were in a league we were equal in when we won that league, we are as good as any team in this league.

this is true Griss, however we could compete in that league with local lads on smaller wages with larger crowds . We now have to import most of our players from further afield on higher wages , which they command at this level, on smaller gates in general.

That is the reason the gate prices went up,and the reason behind the 3 £15 games, problem is the larger gates haven't materialised and people are not spending in the ground, probably didn't help with Fluxpulling out? :bankrupt:

Don't let the facts get in the way of your nonsense Griss - last two years attendances in Southern Prem 488 & 544, this year it's 787 which even allowing for Hereford being a 'big fish' you can't say larger gates haven't materialised.

There are many things that still aren't right at the club but equally there have been some notable improvements compared to the previous regime.
:banghead; Well said TonyM, totally agree all is not right, but we sure have seen lots of improvements over the last 12 months.
