General Discussion / Re: The Future of the Club

Interesting listen.
I watched the Hashtag v Soham penalty shoot out. No attempt at social distancing, quite ridiculous.

He might not agree with the way the club is run, but should he then take it upon himself to write letters to KES slating the club and itís senior members.?
If you have evidence that the club was slated then fair enough but otherwise "slating" (with quotes) or allegedly slating  might be a more accurate description.

According to the FA website, the First Round Proper of the FA Trophy is on 14th November yet we have a league game that day  (away to Sutton) - but no fixture on the 7th November!

Is it really such a big deal or indeed a surprise when we have Mavericks as Chairman and General Manager ?

Iím sure he will cover the issue in his next podcast.
Has he covered the legality of the no-refunds on season tickets yet?

Going by this I assume the Reserves and Under 21s are one of the same:

"Kings Lynn Town Academy
@KLTownFCAcademy
@OfficialKLTown
 U21s (Step 6) U19s (Conference Youth Alliance) & U18s (Thurlow Nunn Youth)"

Not sure on that one for the moment, as apparently NL have advised Clubs not to sell season tickets for the time being.   :dontknow:

Given that the club Tweeted this yesterday evening I guess the advice is being ignored.
"King's Lynn Town FC

The box office is open tomorrow between 11 and 4 for season ticket sales and collections. Please bring relevant ID for collections if required."

I would imagine there will be more fixture clashes this season following Norwich's relegation and a LinnetsRadio could cover away matches.
Radio Norfolk could cover more home matches if they went online only when there was a fixture clash with City. They did at one time.
I guess it is all down to money and finding the people to do it.

Wisbech have their own radio station station.
I wonder how that will affect gates. Could Lynn follow?

The National League plans to start on Sat 3rd Oct.
Step 2 will begin that day with the FA Cup.
Final games will be on Sat 29th May with playoffs in June.
The League says itís likely that crowd numbers will be significant reduced due to the social distanced capacity of grounds.
---------------------------
Doesn't mention Step 1
I assume that having taken into account social distancing for directors (minimum 40) and press (minimum 12) there will still be enough room for social distanced season ticket holders that have bought seats for the centre block.

General Discussion / Salary Cap
« on: July 27, 2020, 12:07:44 PM »
@Ollie_Bayliss
A group of around 12 National League clubs are proposing a salary cap.
They want annual limits of:
🔸 £900,000 for the National League
🔸 £600,000 for the National North/South
The working group hope the limit will be introduced via a vote at the League AGM in August.
-----------------------------------------------
An interesting idea but how will it be enforced?
Is the cap inclusive of travel expenses?
Will there be a limit on signing-on payments?
I'm sure clubs will find ways around this in order to attract the right players.

So is this saying football may return no earlier than 5th September but no fans?
I guess the assumption is that Social Distancing Guidelines will have changed by then.

General Discussion / Re: Next season's prices
« on: July 17, 2020, 02:50:29 PM »

Appreciate we can all look at pricing from a personal perspective (good for me who can buy my ticket 7 days in advance and only see a £2 increase) but realistically there are not that many yellow seats  . . .

Space will be at a premium. Minimum number of seats for directors 40 and  12 for press (with lighting and writing facilities) and then double that number to allow for social distancing. Social distancing in the press box could be a challenge.

Listening to Boris this morning - ďFrom October we intend to bring back audiences in stadia in a Covid-secure way subject to the successful outcome of pilots."
