General Discussion / Re: Grant money coming through next week

BBC Sports this morning:

The National League is to distribute the government's £10m support package on an average attendance basis, meaning seven former Football League clubs will receive a larger sum

So how does that work then? Can only be on last seasons average?  Lynn get 84k, yet clubs with larger averages, get under half that amount. Sure is baffling.  :countingmoney:

So its £10 million between 66 clubs. Better than nothing i suppose.  :countingmoney:

It said Ďaroundí 3M, so who is to say it might even be over that figure.  Think Lynn should be looking at 40k plus.   We are around the 22nd best supported club in the 66 team structure.  So should look to be. In the top 33% of payouts.

3m divide by 66 clubs comes out around the 45k mark

Depends if there is divisional weighting applied. Any idea of there will be a transfer embargo linked to these payments. Itís not beyond the wit of man that some unscrupulous owners would use the bailout money for means beyond those intended, and I hope there are some tight restrictions to prevent such.

Elite clubs should be grateful for any amount which comes their way. If they have to cut their cloth accordingly, so be it.

Any handout should cover ground rent and utility bills etc, based on the last 12 months bills. A modest amount should be given to cover wage bills, the same for all clubs. Then no clubs who spend more than is sustainable will profit, at the expense clubs that are careful with their expenditure.

Here's the answer. Do as Merthyr have. Hibernate for a season. Restart next season. A way out without losing face, or the club.

In fairness to SC he said on a podcast we wanted to give last seasons season ticket holders free Streaming for the pre season friendlies but they donít have the ability to be able to offer it for free.

Amazing how Man landed on the moon over 50 years ago.

Other clubs have issued a password to season ticket holders enabling free access to streams.

Sounds like all you good people who have been "enjoying the ride", whilst encouraging SC to spend spend spend.  Now need to dig deep and bail the owner out.  :countingmoney:

Nice to see Loopy back.

Beware all speak ill of the club heirachy at your peril. :laughcry:

Other clubs further down the ladder, used their first test event of 300 spectators, to invite anyone who had voluntered, in the last year to attend free of charge. No other paying fans to attend. Thus ensuring the game passed off with no issues, so now 600 paying fans are able to attend.  Win win situation.

Ps Do people really still have "sense of humour failure" in this day & age.  :laughcry:
