Loopy you seem to be dead against giving youth a chance, just like your best friend was who only wanted to pay his pals.
What exactly have you got against the younger players at our football club?
I haven't before singing the praises let's see how many if any are playing next season.what happens if culverhouse play them but fail to get lynn promoted remember Cleeve has brought him in to get us promoted not to please the forum parents

General Discussion / Re: NEIL FRYATT RETURNS
« on: March 15, 2017, 08:47:47 AM »

Seems to be a football dynasty forming at The Walks.
Could have so easily been the Setchell family but recent events now make it seem it will be the Fryatt family, especially with Neil returning as under-18 manager.
Ryan is scoring at will as well, and Liam is now awaiting in the wings after being discarded by the club earlier in the season

Sorry, but I don't think Liam is anywhere near what is needed for the first team.

He could be.  That and more.

No better than Danny setchell

Should been a comfy win against a team in trouble at the foot of the table

give loopy a cuddle grissles. he doesn't seem his normal self lately. something must have upset him. :glum:

I find myself agreeing with Loopy!!!
The last 2 wins, although welcome, I would have expected us to win whoever was manager.
Nothing to get too excited about.
you're right Jesus the last 2 wins are against poor sides struggling ,let's see how we compete against teams in the top half

Fair enough but along the same lines, a a few seasons back, I would have expected a club such as Lynn to get promoted, whoever the manager was!
As for Loopy, he's sulking because his big mate is no longer at the club. He will get over it :scarf:
i have never had big mates at the club stevosbestfriend cleeve

How do we know or not if Danny's attitude and feeling towards the manor of which his dad left the club forced this decision. The lad won't of been happy with it and he is known to have a bit of an attitude problem at times so who knows if he was turning up to matches slagging the new manager and the chairman off to other players etc.........he is a youngster after all. Good luck to him though.
so turning in a man of match performance Wednesday night and scoring after he dad got sacked speaks volumes when his head could of dropped and played crap, and stevosbestfriend you still not answered my question did you actually hear setchell say that certain players would never play for the first team with your own ears or you on here stirring with a wooden spoon

Absolutely no difference and being brutally honest Danny isn't good enough for the first team, end of.
At the end of the day you now have to ask where does leave Backie's future at the club?
Backie has always praised his group of reserve team players so why has he not stood up to Culverhouse's decision and told him that he doesn't agree with it and secondly where does it leave him as reserve team manager when he has been undermined by the first team manager?
Backie has always been honest with the fans when it comes to the major issues at the club, so over to you know Backie.....
being brutally honest the majority of the reserves are not good enough for the first team ,so enlighten us you actually heard setchell say certain player would not play for the first team and you heard it direct out of his mouth ,or you creating a rumour

So culverhouse has released Danny setchell ,that's not a footballing decision that's a personal one and all we have heard about is recruiting young local players

General Discussion / Re: Attendances
« on: March 03, 2017, 12:19:55 AM »
With the season petering out into obscurity, the appointment of a new manager with clear pedigree should breed a fresh new start for the Linnets.  I hope this is the case and we can thrive next season and make a concerted push for promotion.

However, to increase revenue I believe a fundamental rethink is required to encourage a newer, younger fan base to emerge to boost attendances and long-term interest in the club.  After all, it wasn't so long ago that the club was regularly attracting crowds of 1,500+.

Firstly, I think some of the existing fans (a vast minority) need to be more conscious of their spacial awareness at matches.  A while back I took my 4 year old son to an away match and the bile being spouted by some of the King's Lynn fans towards the opposition 'keeper was disgraceful.  This may have been an isolated incident, but for a child to have to hear some fans calling their goalkeeper a f****** c**t was simply obscene.  We ended up stood with the opposition fans who did not reciprocate this behaviour.  Whilst I appreciate that football offers a release after a hard week's work, this does little to attract new fans.

Secondly, I believe that the club should give away a thousand junior tickets for each home match (over a trial period) to schools and youth groups in the locality.  Not only would this be good PR for the club but would prompt youngsters to bring their paying parents and raise funds with the inevitable sales of food, drink and merchandise.  As well as adding to the match day atmosphere, this may also prompt youngsters to attend future games and become regular attendees to support longer-term stability.

I cannot foresee how anyone can lose out on this deal.
what you been smoking
