General Discussion / Re: Rowe appointed« on: May 27, 2025, 04:17:07 PM »Would think he will use the budget wisely on the core of his team then pad it out with loaners and players he can develop. Sports have done very well with a limited budget. As you say, only 200 gates yet they still managed a commendable 12 placed position. I would think their supporters were well pleased with that. From what I understand, they didn't go 300k over budget to achieve that position. It makes one wonder where Cleeve and his Managerial appointments would have seen us finish last season, if the Club had kept to its budget? 108

General Discussion / Re: Stephen Cleeve …..How will he be remembered ?« on: May 23, 2025, 10:41:20 AM »
I hope the plan is that he has to pay for admission, and doesn't think he's entitled to a seat in the Directors box.
And let him clean the pigeon s*it from whatever seat he decides to use himself, as other supporters very often have to do. 112

General Discussion / Re: Green light for takeover« on: May 22, 2025, 01:17:51 PM »The start of a more open, honest and inclusive future? Now that the necessary cloak and dagger stuff of takeover is at an end, let's certainly hope so. We'll have to wait and see. Bal and Jo have to prove that before I'm personally convinced. Fingers crossed. ![]() 114

General Discussion / Re: CLEEVE STAYS« on: May 21, 2025, 09:54:23 PM »Are there any fans who actually want Mr Cleeve still at the club. If not, then why not just boycott all games and let him get in with it. Action speaks louder than words as they say. This forum doesn't represent the supporters, a small proportion or otherwise. It just allows supporters to post their views and opinions etc to fellow supporters. 119

Trust Statement
In the light of today's article in the Eastern Daily Press and following some discussions, the Trust Directors have agreed that now is the time to step back from any further discussions with Turn Sport Investments (TSI). We would like to thank TSI for all their work in putting together a pathway for the future of the Club which is not possible to achieve at the moment. I'm sure they will act responsibly to assist the Club as much as possible. The Trust remains committed to achieve its aims and hope that one day the Club will be financially self-supporting and not continuously looking for outside investment to survive. If there are any lessons to be learnt from this ongoing saga, a strong and well-funded Trust will be essential in the future 120
General Discussion / Re: CLEEVE STAYS« on: May 20, 2025, 07:18:52 PM »On the morning of the Scunthorpe game the Club had to go cap in hand to the Lord Napier to " borrow three barrels of beer " as I presume there was insufficient at the ground for the seasons biggest crowd. Club on stop ? I hope they asked for cash in hand before parting with the barrels. |
