General Discussion / Re: The big announcement« on: September 25, 2021, 08:46:15 PM »What was/is the big announcement? The appointment of a Commercial Manager (or whatever they want to call him). I don't know if Club have employed him or if he's just a Consultant. Either way, good to have someone with experience in this field on board. 2493
General Discussion / Re: Wealdstone« on: September 25, 2021, 08:41:51 PM »The talk in the town is the admission cost and that's it simple as that .Real football fans know the time of day and have lots of connections with other clubs and fans.I was chatting to a QPR season ticket holder in the week and he actually laughed when I told him our pricing structure.I'm sure that the majority of people think the admission price is too high, but I really don't think it is as simple as that. Major factor maybe, but not the only issue. For example, I don't think the admission price would effect the lack of sponsorship and such things as low commercial activity. Some Supporters have spoken about the admission price on other social media platforms and have said they won't attend games. Although I think its unlikely, let's see if the Club take the supporters opinion on board. If they don't, I hope they don't just ignore their comments. Commercially, the Club have now appointed a person with experience to head things up, so there could be a big improvement seen very quickly. More money in for the Club, more money for IC to get the right person in to start putting the ball in the back of the net. People have previously said that off field activity has not kept up with on field progression in recent seasons. I don't think many will disagree with that. An effort to rectify this now appears to be happening, and the Club looks as if its at least trying to get the right people into the right jobs, and not just appoint people who are just hanging around. A bit of a change going on at the moment. Off field now starting to go in the right direction, but on field it seems to be going the wrong way, for now at least. If he's given what he needs, IC is the man to sort the latter out. 2494

General Discussion / Re: Wealdstone« on: September 25, 2021, 05:52:58 PM »IC said he wanted to be competitive against all teams. Somehow we need to move on to the next stage which has to be finding the back of net. Hopefully now we have a Commercial Director onboard that will trigger an increase in revenue to bring in someone who can find the back of the net. I've only just been told about this. Nice to see it happening at last. Is the new guy full time employed by us or just a Consultant? [/quote] ....throw Joe Taylor in..... someone who is used to scoring...... That's an option that really needs trying soon. Fully agree, KES. Bleak prospects, I’m afraid. Goal scorer needed is the one point that unites us all. I feel a bit sorry for IC and SC, because there is a lot of luck in football, and they don’t have total control of it. I fear we have used up our share of luck in the previous two seasons.
Yes, thats no good for a NL gate, but I think this was always likely to happen. We've been here before. Win and they will come. Lose and they won't, irrespective of what level the Club is at. If we've got all the right people in the right places, from top to bottom, there's plenty of time to turn it around. Lets see what happens in the week coming. Marriott scored in Barnet's 3-1 win today. 2496
General Discussion / Re: Rory Mcauley« on: September 25, 2021, 11:53:39 AM »I was his sponcer for all the time he was at Lynn and got on with him well but his time at Lynn had been over for a long time Malcolm, have you noticed that we don’t appear to have a lot of luck with some of the players you sponsor? Whatever are you doing to them? 2497
General Discussion / The big announcement« on: September 25, 2021, 09:52:37 AM »
Apparently the Chairman is making a big announcement in today's program.
Are we going to hear news of the previously mentioned TV documentary? 2498
General Discussion / Re: Cameron King« on: September 24, 2021, 10:33:42 PM »As for the membership is now above 50 Flocking to your door now! A very big "well done" to you and your new committee. It just shows what can be achieved when peolple put their minds to it, all pull together, are willing to pull their sleeves up and get stuck in, and have a passionate leadership. Keep it up! 2499
General Discussion / Re: Cameron King« on: September 24, 2021, 08:34:46 PM »Weren’t the club going to appoint a Fan Liaison officer ? Did this ever happen ? I’m assuming not. Maybe that’s what’s going to be announced in the program tomorrow. 2500
General Discussion / Re: Cameron King« on: September 24, 2021, 06:45:51 PM »It seems to me, from what has been said on here and the way things are panning out, that maybe the Club/Chairman have a luke warm response to the FOTL. Didn't he want to drop the Friends name and have it called Kings Lynn (Independent) Supporters Club, but the committee voted against it, with only one committee member for it. Maybe that could be a factor in the Club not appearing to be interested in it. Having said that, Club doesn't appear to be interested in anything supporter related at the moment? 2501
General Discussion / Re: Cameron King« on: September 24, 2021, 06:05:28 PM »Thanks for that I will be in touch ,it will be on our own website when’s it’s done Godaddy or Wix site would probably be sufficient for what you need. Low cost and relatively easy to do. You don't have to be a web designer or IT specialist to set one of those up. Good tutorials available. Not a 5 minute job but can easily be done in a day. If you've now gone down this route instead of just putting a form on Clubs site, chances are at least one of your 40 members would be capable of doing it. As its not a major job, hopefully your efforts wil come to fruition very soon and you can tick that one off your list. I'd have thought it would be beneficial to have the application form on the Club site anyway, even if the fotls develop their own site. The Club will always get more traffic than a fotl's site. I presume the Club will allow you to do that? 2502
General Discussion / Re: Cameron King« on: September 24, 2021, 04:38:26 PM »B & G the online application is nothing to do with the football club it’s a friends initiative That's different than what was said before. Has it now changed? So, when its done, where are people supposed to go to be able to complete it (I.e. which website)? If it is a Friends initiative, that makes the delay more confusing. What's the problem? It's a 5 minute job? If you'd like me to arrange to get it done, please let me know. Obviously would need to know details of the site its going to be on, and all the log in details (which you could then change once the form is on line). 2503
General Discussion / Re: Cameron King« on: September 24, 2021, 04:05:58 PM »KES80 I will take you serious when you stop hiding behind a false name and as for the online application forms there is no one more frustrated than me Not that old chestnut again? Malcolm, people have forum names for a number of reasons, and its up to them. I really don't think its just to hide their identity, as most people know who are behind the majority of the forum names. In addition to that, if they post a "name", who's to say it is actually their real name? Do you think all the names you see on Facebook and Twitter are peoples real names? If people wish to use forum names, its up to them. If people want to use a made up name, its up to them. If people want to use their real names, its up to them. Thats how the cookie crumbles on this forum and always has done. To coin a phrase used by a previous Chairman................."If people don't like it, they know where the door is". Regarding the on line application form. No doubt you have been trying and are also frustrated with it. I fully believe that. If the Club can't be arsed to get it sorted out when the Chairman of their Supporters Club has asked numerous times, it really is asking the question if there any point to it all? It really shows what the powers that be really think of the FOTL's and the Clubs supporters in general. Maybe there's an issue bigger than we think, regarding the firm that is paid to do such things on the website. Answers, on a postcard to............... 2504

General Discussion / Re: Wealdstone at home« on: September 23, 2021, 08:11:20 PM »Now that's a dilemma for Grissles. 50p off at the Walks or the Nap. I suppose that could depend on the price before the discount is applied. |
