General Discussion / Re: FOTL part 2.
« on: August 08, 2021, 10:20:55 PM »
I know what fans will expect from me and given  time the new committee will deliver in a way that will please everyone but what a wonít accept criticism when we have only been in the job a few weeks ,and regarding John why do you think I asked him to join the committee he is and will be great asset

Fair enough Malcolm, although I don't think the two points raised by Chilly were anything to do directly with the FOTL's and the short time of your involvement.

How long will it take to get sorted and running correctly?

Was it really left in that much of a mess by the previous committee?

Is that a complaint Gordon or just something to say yes you are right but in future Iíll make sure I know whatís going on and donít post it on here then I wonít give your good self  cause to complain about me

In fairness Malcolm, if people represent the Club in even a very minor capacity, supporters will expect information and comments  etc to be accurate and up to date. It all goes with the territory. Can I suggest you have a word with John on this matter as I'm sure he will be able to help and guide you with what people expect, as he has experience from a previous position he used to hold with another supporters group.

Some interesting comments on Sarfend forum.

https://www.shrimperzone.com/forums/threads/kings-lynn-and-wealdstone-tickets.107824/page-12

Apparently the Walks has a capacity of 8,000!

Copied and pasted one of the posts, but all pages of the thread ( Kings Lynn and Wealdstone tickets) makes interesting  reading if People have the time.

Mr Browns Ghost

So who has just received an absolutely shocking email from KingsLynn football club about the purchase of tickets within the main stand??

Iím contacting you today because we believe you may be away supporters booking seated tickets in the home section. We are this season segregating every fixture and donít at this moment in time have any away seating to allocate. However we understand that some people do indeed require a seat and we can accommodate your ticket allocation if you are needing this.

If you do require a seat and want your ticket to remain in force you need to contact us before 16:00 Monday 16th August 2021 and tell us your age and reasons why you require a seat. Any ticket holder that fails to respond to this email will find their tickets cancelled and you will be refused access to the ground on the day of the fixture.

Didnít think our Chairman was ever worried about things being too expensive.  Or does that just apply to prices at The Walk ?

Who said he was the one paying for it? :dontknow:

I understand there was one trialist yesterday, but he wasn't on the pitch very long. No idea why or who he is.

Being full time........does anyone actually know for definite that the Squad is now training full time?  :dontknow:

I did hear that some were not happy with the catering arrangements at the training ground a couple of weeks ago. That could have just been a one off.
I was told that Heacham quoted for the catering and were to EXPENSIVE. I heard then that the club were using their own volunteers.

I guess its understandable that properly prepared nutritional food, rather than ready meals, comes at a cost.

Has not one of the 3 chefs from The George not been employed at Heacham ?  Or is it the catering company who handle the food on Match days at The Walks

Can you operate a Microwave oven Mallard?

1906, that makes a good read. Many thanks.

£20,000,000 to end up in the same league and level as Kings Lynn.

Maybe people chasing the dream of league football at all costs, should take note.

I bet they don't.

Probably not.

Even though the pre season friendlies involved squads from the likes of Norwich, Peterborough and MK, I think many expected this to be our first real test. A match against a full strength side, about to start their season, so up for it and raring to go. Players taking the opportunity to show their Manager that their name is the one that needs putting on the shirt for when their season starts next week.

General Discussion / Match preview for Alfreton
« on: August 07, 2021, 10:03:05 AM »
https://www.kltown.co.uk/2021/08/07/match-preview-alfreton-town-fc-vs-kings-lynn-town-fc/

OUR OPPONENTS: ALFRETON TOWN FC

Alfreton Town have had a pre-season to remember, thus far. Managed by Andrew Clarke, the side recorded a valuable 3-2 win over fellow National League side, in Chesterfield FC. The side went on to better that scoreline by overcoming the challenge of League One side Burton Albion, by winning 2-1.

Their other results during the period include a narrow 1-0 defeats to Sheffield Wednesday and Grimsby Town. Despite suffering losses, the side have shown their ability to compete with established football league sides. Showcasing the importance of this fixture for Lynn, whilst the fixtures against Peterborough United, Norwich City, and MK Dons will be the standout games, this will be a tough test for Ian Culverhouseís men.

Kingís Lynn will face a familiar face, in the way of Dayle Southwell, who recently made the move to Alfreton Town this summer
